  • A wonderful stay, breathtaking views of Portland, Lance was an excellent host. Get up early to see the sunrise over Portland!! Simply amazing.

    Katherine2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Lance's unique home, especially the spectacular views. Lance welcomed us warmly and gave us a tour, explaining the history of his home. It served as a great base for exploring Portland.

    Libby2015-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • We felt a bit awkward the first night with some of the stories Lance told about previous guests. The second night at 7 PM we came back to a quiet house we thought was empty. After half an hour we hear loud moans and yelling. We packed and left immediately. After AirBNB mediation we were provided with more context regarding our concerns. The Saul Zaik Treehouse is as advertised- an amazing structure with breath taking views. It is well decorated and clean.

    Sonja2016-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at the Tree House! The sights were just breathtaking, a true slice of heaven. Lance was very helpful and welcoming, sending us a lot of tips on what to do in the area. We also very much enjoyed our visits with Bukowski the very social house cat. This was such a cool and unique experience!

    Marie2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I love the city of Portland. We also try our best to stay in unique places with character. Lance's Iconic Treehouse is definitely not short on character or views! Everything from glass allowing for city/mountain views, to his awesome little furry friend Bukowski. Lance was a tremendous host. We felt we absolutely had our privacy, however it was great getting to get a chance to meet and share stories with him. He also was kind enough to give us some local insight, and also gave us the complete and historical tour! This place cant be missed!

    Todd2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Breathtaking view. Lance and Bukowski were wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the final morning coffee and chat before we left. A wonderful place to stay on our first visit to Portland.

    Thomas2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse is a very unique place to stay, and has great views of downtown Portland. Lance is a very nice host and communicates well.

    Kara2016-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Waking up to that view is something you'll never forget. Definitely worth a visit. Lance is a great host, very accommodating and friendly. Great trip!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • We had a great and relaxing stay at Jack and Cris's lovely cob cottage. The intricate designs on the exterior and interior of the cottage are worth appreciating. Waking up in the cottage makes you feel you are in a completely different country. The small pond and the greenery around just adds to the experience. The place is conveniently located near many popular restaurants in Portland and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, I would definitely say this cottage is a "not-to-miss" experience. Thanks Jack and Cris for sharing your cottage with the World!

  • Unique cottage with pond and waterfall. Small but comfortable.

    John2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • I really can't say enough about this place. It is adorable and very peaceful. The bed was comfy. I thought it would be weird to have to go out to the house for the bathroom, but it totally wasn't. I loved all the cats around. The location was great. Walking distance to some phenomenal restaurants. I would highly recommend.

    Susan2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cute warm cottage with lush garden. The washroom is in the back part of the house and was very clean. There is also a lounge where one can heat up some water or warm up food. Quiet and relaxing.

  • Wonderful secluded but central cottage. Felt very private and cozy.

    Jacqueline2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Walking distance to great restaurants and bars. Very private and quiet! Thank you!

  • Went there with my fiancé. Highly recommended charming cottage! Rarely have we seen such a special place to stay the night. The hosts are very understanding (we had a long drive and arrived late) and very helpful with tips for thing to do and eat in Portland. The neighborhood is cosy and super close to a lot of great restaurants, cafées and others. There was absolutely no problem with the bathroom being inside the house, it is easily accessable and cover your needs. We are so happy with our stay!

    Kristina2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • A unique way of spending the night. Not far from downtown and even closer to neighborhood bar and grills. Separated from the house completely besides your bathroom and kitchenette, you can stay peacefully. Hosts were very nice and seemed willing to accommodate any other needs.

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!

  • My husband and I would recommend this place - close to the Woodlawn neighborhood and the coffee house. Andree was very accommodating and made sure to show us around. Great host and fun place to stay at, cute little loft!

    Heidi2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée is awesome! Very chatty and friendly. The room is in a good location and just like it looks in the pictures; we were able to bile to everything we wanted to see in portland. People in the neighborhood were very nice - I'm from California and I was surprised how nice people in the area were. Would stay here again, thanks Andrée!

    Scott2014-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was a wonderful host and her cozy studio was the perfect place to stay for my two night trip to Portland. The space was clean and well-kept with comfortable sheets and all of the kitchen amenities that I needed (mini fridge, stovetop range, etc). Also, Andrée's warm and welcoming personality will make you truly feel like you are home away from home.

    Mandy2014-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andrèe was very nice! She was very knowledgeable about her location and told us a lot about the highlights that were close by. Her house was very warming and overall made us feel very comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

    Andy2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was great. She was available when we showed up and provided lots of great suggestions as to what to do/places to eat and check out. We were so happy to stay in that neighbourhood as it was close to some action, but far enough away to be more of a residential area - quaint, friendly and close to some great restaurants and breweries! The suite was very comfortable, uber adorable, and made our stay awesome! We will definitely stay there again next time we are in Portland! I highly recommend it!

    Amanda2015-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here a single night. The host was very nice and worked with our funky schedule. Barn is as described.

  • I really enjoyed staying at Andrée's place. The house is tiny, clean and very cute. The neighbourhood is good: it's quet enough and it has plenty of restaurants and cafes around. Andrée is a very polite, respectful and attentive host. I can confidently recommend this place to my friends.

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, a queen bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv including HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a queen bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • This apartment was perfect for my short visit to Portland. It's in a charming older home in a really lovely neighborhood full of other beautiful historic homes. I walked to nearby coffee shops/ diners in the mornings (there are several within 10-15 minutes) and enjoyed the quiet, tree-lined streets. Getting around with Uber and Lyft was convenient and nothing was too far away. The apartment is no-frills but still cute and clean. I slept well- the bed was comfy and it was quiet at night. Overall, a great option for a single person or couple looking for a good value!

    Caitie2018-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great studio to stay in during our first time visiting Portland! Check in was easy with no issues during our entire stay.

    Alda2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • My brief stay at this chic spot was perfect. The space is beyond adorable. Very chill quiet neighborhood yet close to so much. Hosts are very laid back, accommodating and detailed with rules, recommendations, and info. Very quick response time with all the messages and questions I bothered them with. Full kitchen with so many amenities, even stuff to cook pancakes! Would and even live in this space. Definitely going to stay here again when in town.

    Rachel2018-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect! Great location near Alberta and other great neighborhoods. If you're looking to spend some time in Portland, this is a must to check out!

    Josh2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • I travel to Portland for work often, and this is the second time I've stayed at Jason's place. It is an awesome spot if you want things to be super accessible but not right on top of you. The neighborhood is gorgeous with enormous street trees and grand old houses. Just a couple blocks from Whole Foods and great places to eat. Stay here. You will enjoy yourself.

    Holly2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Really cool neighborhood close to cool restaurants. Place is nice but dated. Pictures make it appear more bright and modern than it actually is.

    Daniel2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a 4-day getaway in Portland. Close to lots of restaurants and it was nice to be in a neighbourhood that we hadn't stayed in previously. Jason was quick to respond to all of my questions and was friendly in person. There is a bike rack in the back yard if you bring your own bikes. The studio itself is quite spacious, other than the sweet (but tiny) bathroom. We found the bed very comfy! We used the fireplace one of the nights and it was well-equipped with newspaper, lighter logs and firewood. Such a nice feature!

    Erin2015-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Listing was accurate except for the size of the bathroom. The photos make it look larger than it really is. I found it a bit cramped.

This quaint totally furnished garden cottage, one bedroom apt. is private with it's own key, private entrance, and courtyard in the downstairs of our historic brick English tutor home in Laurelhurst, a beautiful old Portland community! Read our outstanding reviews!
This quaint 1 bedroom furnished apt. is located downstairs in our historic brick English tutor home. It has a separate key, private entrance, and courtyard. The space is well-lit with two windows and has a back door to a beautiful garden and patio in the backyard as well as a side door to the courtyard. The location is Laurelhurst - one of Portland's oldest and most beautiful planned communities on a quiet, tree lined street within 10 minutes of the city and 15 min. from the airport. Major shopping, wonderful restaurants and one of Portland's most beautiful parks are all within walking distance. This ideal location is only two blocks from a major bus line and 5 blocks from the MAX train. It is also within walking distance of favorite east side shopping and dining areas, including Hawthorne, Belmont and 28th street. When you enter this mid-century decorated apartment you will immediately feel at home! You will find a comfortable queen sized bed, overstuffed chair and desk with the latest mesh technology wireless internet, flat screen TV with cable, Blu-ray CD player, a collection of movies in the bedroom. The newly tiled bathroom has a tub and shower and, although there is not a separate "living room", the kitchen and pantry is fully furnished with everything you may need to make your own meals if you choose (i.e. microwave, gas stove, refrigerator, blender, coffee maker, dishes, pots/pans, spices, condiments, etc.). Other amenities include a private courtyard, washer/dryer in the apt., and easy walking distance to bus, train, restaurants and shopping. More information on our historic home can be found on Oregon Encyclopedia website. Search for "Brick House Beautiful". Our home has also been in "Better Home and Gardens" magazine and has been twice on the cover of "Old House Journal". If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • We had a wonderful stay at The English Cottage with Sue and Bob. The house is amazing, and the gardens WOW! We could have just stayed and spent time with them. BUT we were there to see our family! We are looking forward to booking again on our next visit.

    donetta2012-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I just finished a 3 night stay with Bob and Sue and had an incredible time. Consummate hosts and truly friendly people, they met us at the entrance the night we checked in and made sure we had everything we needed. We both would highly recommend this spot to anyone stopping in Portland for longer than one night. Random thoughts: * This place is in a PRIME location - the neighborhood is beautiful and is located equidistant to both the airport and downtown Portland (both about a 10 minute drive, respectively). There is also a lot to do within walking distance and even more within reach on a bike. * Speaking of bikes, Bob & Sue let us borrow theirs for the day on Sunday - Thank you! Definitely a perk in a bike-friendly town like Portland. You haven't experienced Portland as you should until you join the masses on a bike for a quick roll through town. * Our hosts LOVE Portland and will gladly point you in any direction you'd like to head with local info etc. They also have a ton of info available inside the unit to browse through. * WiFi worked great which was a huge plus for us, as we both needed to check in with work obligations briefly each day. * All photos on website are accurate - this place is as advertised - cute as could be and well thought out, etc. One thing we were a little surprised about was that the cottage is connected to the house, meaning there is a common entrance in the back. This aside, Bob & Sue were very kind and gave us plenty of space and privacy. Again, our stay with Bob & Sue was a huge part of a perfect weekend and we would confidently recommend this to anyone passing through Portland in the future.

  • My wife and I live in here in Portland but needed to get out of our house for a few days while we had some construction done. Being familiar with the Laurelhurst neighborhood, this spot immediately jumped out at us as a great choice. In addition to being convenient for us personally (due to the proximity to our office), it's also a great, quiet spot in central NE Portland, from which you can easily to get to just about anywhere in town while also staying off the more high-traffic areas. Sue and Bob themselves were great, taking our reservation on just two days advance notice and also being extremely flexible and generous when some scheduling issues came up. The property itself is beautiful. We really enjoyed hearing the history of this unusual house and seeing the stack of magazines it's been featured in. I'll highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a rental in NE Portland.

  • This place is at a great location, is beautiful and you not ask for better hosts.

    Sam2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was fantastic, everything we wanted, great location, beautiful space, very friendly, and def loved the kitchen to make breakfast in, and the washer and dryer to wash our cloths after the hot springs! Sue and Bob were really nice, we would def stay there again.

    Scott2012-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The property is in an awesome location if you don't mind a brisk walk or driving a short distance. Laurelhurst Park is a stones throw away which is great for running or simply strolling. The room is a basement space which for the price seems a bit off. I would recommend this wonderful space to anyone visiting portland for a brief period.

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • Super cute, bright, and clean loft for our trip to Portland. It was hard getting out of bed on those cozy rainy mornings! Despite being within walking distance to all the great eateries and shops off SE Division & Hawthorne, street parking was easy (big deal for those of us who hate city parking) and we felt completely secluded when we retreated for the night. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and modern space while staying in Portland!

    MyLan2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot express how great a stay I had at Laurel and Brian's wonderful loft space. A friend, Hailey, and I booked on relatively short notice and when we arrived we greeted by Laurel, who walked us through the house--the air conditioner, the blinds and the rest of the accommodations. Hailey and I loved the space. It is clean, new, and well put together. The bathroom has a nice sink and shower head. On the first floor there is a fold-out couch if needed and upstairs there is an incredibly soft and comfortable bed. It is a split level. Downstairs there is a couch and spacious kitchen area and upstairs there is the bed and dresser. On the first floor there is also a washer and dryer, speaker with aux input for listening, guides of Portland, and complementary coffee with a french press. I could not have asked for more. On top of all this, Laurel and Brian were very nice and accommodating. Hailey and I had a truly wonderful time exploring Portland and staying in this beautiful little home. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would stay here again if I got the chance!!

  • Wonderful people. Lovely home.

    Siew2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, friendly and easy communication with Laurel & Brian, location near Division is great. The loft feels very open and modern, and is well appointed. Would absolutely stay again!

  • This cottage was AWESOME! So clean and just steps away from the fantastic food of Division Street. Will stay here again on my return if it isn't booked.

  • Both Brian and Laurel were wonderful hosts! Their place is very clean and cutely decorated. It highly recommend it if your passing through Portland.

  • Laurel and Brian's place was fabulous. Highly recommended. I wouldn't change a thing. They even left fresh cream in the fridge for the first morning's coffee!

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • First trip to Portland with my boyfriend and first time using Airbnb. It was perfect. I would 100% stay in this Airbnb again. The room and building looked exactly like the photos, and the outdoor deck was so awesome! The bed was insanely comfortable, to the point of rethinking our plans and just staying inside all day. The owner was very nice and helpful our entire stay. Absolutely recommend this rental 100x over. Thanks for the great stay! We will definitely be back soon!

    Morgan Olivia2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The room was very spacious and lovely with the huge bed and plants, and the deck was also such a nice touch. The directions provided were Timothy were very easy to follow, and he replied incredibly promptly with queries which was very reassuring. Area was great, a nice walk to Alberta and bus lines were just outside. I would definitely recommend this for a fuss-free, reliable and comfortable experience.

    Erica2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay, we even extended our stay for a few more days. The room was extremely comfortable, and having the sink in the room was very nice, as the bathroom and shower are shared. Timothy was very easy to communicate with and very pleasant as we saw him in passing a number times during our stay. He made great suggestions. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to N Mississippi St and just around the corner from N Williams St. About a 20 minute walk to NE Prescott. Very easy drive to anywhere else in town. It was raining quite a bit while we were there but the bikes Timothy offers would've been great. Although it was not a problem for us, if you are a light sleeper and are in the "big room" we stayed in, I would suggest bringing ear plugs as it is right on MLK with car traffic and the occasional wanderer that lets out a few yells or songs in the middle of the night.

    Elizabeth2015-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was uber accommodating. The neighborhood hip vibe abs on-point eateries make this location a plus. But to mention, the well-appointed room was spacious and comfortable. Thank you, Tim!

    Lisa2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was very accurate and he made us feel very at home. All the amenities were very very clean and modern. As a whole, the experience left my girlfriend and I very satisfied with Timothy's services and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

    Austen2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Timothy's was lovely. He met us promptly - even a bit earlier than our planned check-in time - and made us feel right at home. The room was spacious, clean, and bright. Loved the little extra touches: complimentary seltzer water in the mini fridge and coffee in the morning. It's situated in a great part of town with plenty to do within walking distance. Really wish we could have stayed more than one night! Would definitely book again.

    Madeleine2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Timothy's place. The bed was big and comfortable, and the neighborhood was cool.

    Cullen2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was a very nice and welcoming host! He answered many questions I have about Portland, and this place is definitely worth staying if you do not mind taking the bus to take the MAX or the Portland Streetcar.

This listing is a private bedroom in a shared apartment with 3 other individuals. We are considerate, quiet, & conscious of our guests space & privacy. In the heart of Portland's NW 23rd District, our place is nestled close to some of Portland's finest shops & cafes: Salt & Straw, Barista, and Fireside to name a few. The apartment has become a "destination" in itself due to the amazing natural light & Scandinavian interior design - even garnering its own hashtag on Instagram (#theaptupstairs).
"The Apartment Upstairs" is perfect for couples, urban adventurers, and creative travelers. Private bedroom outfitted with luxury Portuguese linen, plush Turkish cotton towels, waffle knit robes & slippers, & alpaca wool throws from our friends over at Parachute Home. All room decor and artwork is done by fellow Portland & Los Angeles creatives.
  • Location is in a beautiful neighborhood with plenty to do, but also easy to walk to downtown or jog to nearby Forest Park. Apartment is stylish and Ben is a top host.

    Daniel2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fabulous, could not be better. Was quiet even on a weekend and right off NW 23rd, a bustling street. It is a small bedroom sharing the apartment with the 3 tenants and a shared bath among you all. If you want to spend most of your time eating in restaurants and seeing the city, it is awesome. If you like a bit of private space, is a bit small. Benjamin was a great communicator and I never saw anyone else in 2 days there. Quiet, spare decor, smells good. There is no lock on bedroom door and I found the main entry door often unlocked which was a little disconcerting as it is a busy area. It is up a steep narrow flight of stairs. Parking is on the street and you pay for parking M-Sat, Sunday is free. Ended up costing me $160/noc when all was said and done plus (Website hidden by Airbnb) is a very walkable area and you can park your car and take public transport if you get a good spot. There is apparently free parking on some other streets but be prepared to look for it and walk a ways to the apartment. Good aesthetic, great location, a bit expensive compared to other Air BnB locations I have used but probably in range for NW hip Portland lodging.

    Helen2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a truly amazing location where you can walk to so many great restaurants and shops. The house is an aesthetic inspiration and the room felt peacefully tucked away. Loved the stay!

    Jose2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • #TheAptUpstairs is a gorgeous light-filled space one block from shops, restaurants, coffee, and ice cream. Our room was small but comfortable- perfect for a weekend stay and not lacking anything we might have needed. Benjamin was very responsive, and even provided us with a list of his favorite to-dos in the neighborhood. We would definitely stay again!

    Lara2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house, nice clean room in a great neighbourhood

    Esther2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great experience at the Apt Upstairs. Check-in was a breeze, the space and bathroom were immaculately clean and very uniquely designed/decorated. Room temp was fine too. Location was optimal and close to the Peal brewpubs. Thanks for hosting us and we would highly recommend.

    Anthony2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Apt Upstairs is an amazing place, in a perfect location, with great hosts! Benjamin was awesome, extremely communicative and helpful. He made it possible for us to check in early, gave us a huge list of recommended sights, restaurants and bars and just made everything super easy. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!

    Courtney2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the Nob Hill area of NW Portland's "Alphabet" District. Excellent restaurants and shops are near by and the street car service to downtown and the airport was very convenient. This neighborhood has charm! Our room was clean and our host was helpful. Parking a car can be challenging but we used the street car to get around.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Anna and Jeremy have a great space in North East Portland. It is simple and serene! Definitely a place where you can relax. They are also close to an excellent tamale restaurant! Anna had a lot of helpful hints about where to go and what to see. Thanks for a lovely trip!

    Catherine2018-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Anna & Jeremy’s home was beautiful! The apartment is more stunning in person than the pictures can even show. We loved the neighbourhood so much we didn’t even leave further than Alberta street (except to go to the Blazers game!). Anna and Jeremy were so friendly and Anna had put together a very handy book full of tips and recommendations- none of the places we got to experience were a let down. We will definitely be returning back to their home in the near future !

    Olivia2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • A very sleek and modern apartment in a terrific section of Portland. Easy walk to a great brewery, coffee, restaurants and park. Our host , Anna, is very warm and very responsive if you need to contact her.

    Deb2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of my favorite airbnb experiences ever! Portland was SO hot the weekend we stayed and since the apt is on the basement level, it stayed nice and cool in there--even without a/c. And it was so nice that there was so much natural light, even though it's a basement. The bed was super comfy, and the bathroom felt soo luxurious. Anna and Jeremy were super kind too. It was a really nice combination of hands-off hosts, but people who were also interested in saying hello and making sure we were okay. We loved it and would stay there again!

    Allison2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Would definitely stay again.

    Yuri2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect and clean and made me jealous of their design talents :) That shower was especially wonderful and I almost never got out. The hosts were so sweet and I almost canceled our next reservations to spend more rainy days in Portland. Thank you!

    Katie2016-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Anna and Jeremy's place. The place is very comfortable and well designed, and is on a great street in NE near many restaurants and breweries. Anna and Jeremy also had notebooks with all of their favorite spots in Portland, in addition to day trips from the area. They were also very accommodating when we asked for a bit more time in the place after our flight was delayed. An easy 5-10 minute drive for the airport. Thank you Anna and Jeremy!

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • I loved our stay at the Urban Treehouse! Brad and Becca were very friendly and communicated all of the important details. The room was comfortable and clean and the location was perfect!

    Alischa2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first AirBnB experience. Brad & Becca's home was absolutely beautiful, from a design and architectural standpoint, and provided for quite a comfortable stay. My wife and I spent two nights there. Brad & Becca were very respectful of our privacy, and really, we didn't see them more than 3 or 4 times throughout. The entire ground level floor is for guests. The second floor is a shared kitchen/common space. The upstairs is theirs. Their cat took to us quite well, and kept curious, chatty company with us throughout our stay. Pet company was welcomed, as I had been away from my dogs for several weeks! They have a new puppy, that was adorable, and quite well behaved. I love the neighborhood! As mentioned on their profile, they are walking distance to some great places: Shut Up & Eat is an amazing sandwich shop (don't let the name put you off). There's coffee shops, record stores, Trader Joe's, and much more. My only recommendation would be that they provide some more ample curtains in the bedroom. Privacy while changing was of issue, as was light coming in in the morning. Thanks Brad & Becca! I would gladly recommend your home to others.

    Grant2013-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Brad and Becca, although we never got to meet Becca. The house is very beautiful, the neighborhood is convenient, and there is plenty of parking. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

    Tristan2013-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Brad and Becca's was great! They were very responsive, had everything we needed, and gave good suggestions on where to go. Thanks for making our first airbnb experience painless!

    Alyssa & Jarvis2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Access and advance directions were excellent. And easy. The space is inviting, engaging, clean and welcoming.

    Mary Anne2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one day at Brad&Becca's place to pick up our RV to take off on our roadtrip the next day. It was a short but pleasant stay with them and their nice, friendly dog and cat. Brad gave us a very warm welcome and told us about an upcoming part of Portland where we could find a few very nice restaurants. We had a very nice diner here. The bedroom, livingroom en private bathroom were perfect. Thanks for letting us be your guests!

    Edith2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful space & truly a feeling of being "home away from home" while in Portland! We couldn't ask for nicer, more hospitable & welcoming hosts and only regret not having more time!! Thanks for everything Brad & Becca- good luck with the new puppy!!

    Emily2013-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay with Brad and Becca. Their home is gorgeous, warm, has a lovely layout, with lots of nice wooden beams and open ceilings. Both of them are terrifically friendly and were a joy to be around. Bed is comfortable, bathroom is clean and lovely. Lots of recommendations for things to to around town and incredibly helpful. Wish we could have stayed their longer, and would definitely stay again.

Newly constructed in 2016, our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide an abundance of natural light, even on a grey, drizzly Portland day, as well as views of the west hills. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; If you're needing more of a "hangout spot," this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, coffee press, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to hip and eclectic restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • Lives up to all the 5 star reviews. Great location, easily accessible, quiet and private but also close to restaurants, shops, bars and nightlife. Would definitely return for another stay!

    Matt2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was a bright, cozy place to sleep in a great neighborhood. Clean and welcoming.

  • If this AirBnb is available to book, request to book it now before its too late and someone else reserves it. -We had our eye on this Airbnb and every time we checked, it was not available until a week before our visit and we saw it available. Without any hesitation we requested and within a couple minutes Melissa responded. She is easy to commnicate with and when we met her for check in, she was sooo down to earth. If i can sum up our experience with one word... it would be awesomelysuperfivestarairbnb!  -thank you Melissa for everything!!!

    Calvin & Joylin2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot give sufficient kudos to Melissa and Brian. Many wonderful small touches to make our stay so comfortable and homey. Big fluffy towels, cozy comfy bed, cute decor, spotlessly clean and a well equipped galley. Despite some horrid icy weather we were cozy and warm. All restaurants within walking dustace are A+++. We Hope too stay again in warmer weather

    Isabella2016-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's studio is *exactly* as described and pictured--even better, actually! Pictures can't do it justice whatsoever. It's beautifully bright, sunny (even on overcast days) and artfully decorated. Every detail seems well thought out and considered, and we truly enjoyed the chocolate, seltzer, and all the countless other personal touches that she left for us. What a way to start a vacation! We relied heavily on the list of Melissa's suggestions, and I'm so happy we did! (MUST try: Pok Pok & Cafe Broder!) The location was perfection--tucked away and private, yet within walking distance of so many restaurants and shops. Everything was amazing. We cannot wait to come back. Thank you again, Melissa!!

    Margaret2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Brian were wonderful hosts to my girlfriend and I. If you are lucky enough to book this little gem, you will have no regrets. It was perfect down to every little detail providing us with everything we needed and more. Despite the rain we had during our trip, this studio brought tons of natural lighting. It was very clean, decorated impeccably, serene, and exactly as described. It is in a great location, close to many great places to visit. They have set the bar high for other Airbnb's to compare to.

  • My husband and I had such a wonderful stay here! Anastasia's place is located in a beautiful section of Portland. There was so much to do right outside the door but it also gave us easy access to the rest of Portland. The studio was clean as could be and felt like home. Anastasia was easy to communicate with! We had a great time!

  • I booked this studio for my adult kids. They relayed to me that this was a cozy, comfortable, and clean room. Anastasia was easy to work with and took every care to make sure the stay was a comfortable one. The location was convienent to downtown, and the parking was also easy. Thank you Anastasia for a wonderful experience!

  • A clean, quiet place that mostly matched the pictures and description! Enjoyed a brief conversation with the host as I was departing. Great place!

    Brad2018-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great clean unit, really close to restaurants and transit. A little further from the core but easily accessible by streetcar. Anastasia was very responsive and everything was ready. You can sometimes hear Anastasia's family in the morning though the walls, but it wasn't loud enough to be a problem (unless you're a very light sleeper)

    Sherman2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia's place was amazing and as described. We loved everything about it, from the convenience to the privacy she provided. She was very accommodating and always made sure to check-in with her guest, which I personally loved. We didn't see very much of each other, but she was always responsive and again checked in from time to time.

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • My fiancé and I had such a great time staying in this awesome little spot! It was private, tidy and unique. Michael and Jenna were wonderful hosts, very quick to respond and made us feel right at home.

  • What a treat! The Tiny House was the perfect place for us to launch our exploration of Portland, and we found it cozy and comfortable in so many ways. The hosts, Michael and Jenny, are very attentive/responsive and have really paid attention to the details when crafting this place. We are already planning our next trip out to the area, so we can stay in this cozy little gem again.

  • We wanted to show our guests from Dallas how great Portland is. The Rustic Mod was the perfect Portlandish place to stay. Clean & cozy, and just steps away from great restaurants & bars. It was a hit! Thank you.

    Molly2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny House is AMAZING! Even the Lyft drivers dropping us off were giving us props for finding such a cool place to stay. Very centrally located to some amazing eats and drinks, as well as public transportation to all of Portland. This is a TINY house for sure, but the layout is very thoughtful, and makes great use of the space. We left feeling inspired to take on a project of our own here on the west coast :). I'd recommend this home to anyone looking for unique and inspiring lodging in a great walkable neighborhood in Portland. It was perfect for our stay.

    Philip2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts were great with emails and texts to make sure we knew all the details for getting in the house. I especially appreciated the list of Favorites they had compiled, with great local things to experience within walking distance of the house.

    Monica2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute house in a great location. Plenty of eats and drinks within walking distance.

    Jerry2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in this beautiful and thoughtfully crafted tiny home! The space itself was cozy and clean and had everything we needed for a few days in Portland. Having access to two bikes also brought a whole new level to our Portlandia adventure. Thanks again for connecting us with the friendly folks at the cafe to leave our luggage, it gave us the freedom to explore for an extra day! Thank you!

    Jessica2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for everything..the tiny house was perfect! We had an awesome vacation in Portland! M+J

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D

  • We've used Airbnb all over the world and this one takes the cake! We LOVED our host, the cottage was cozy, clean and just the right size and breakfast was phenomenal. I would definitely recommended breakfast in the main house with Lisa if you get a chance. Not only is she a great cook, but has wonderful advice about the area and is an all around fabulous person. Great location, close to good restaurants and bars. We loved our visit to Portland and we hope to come back again soon!

    Alisha2013-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first airbnb experience and it was just perfect. We could not of asked for a better host. The cottage is just beautiful and very comfortable, and Lisa was so kind. The breakfast in the morning was so delicious. I would love to stay here again when I am back in Portland!

    Monica2013-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and family were very warm and welcoming. The cottage was cozy and clean, and was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting Portland. I would definitely recommend this spot if you are looking for accommodation in Portland. Thanks Lisa!

    Chris2014-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cute little place! It was perfect for my short visit to Portland to attend a business event. I wish my schedule would have allowed me time to order one of the breakfasts that were offered as they all sounded so good. There is a set of steep stairs going up to the bedroom so those with mobility issues may find them a little difficult to navigate. I would definitely stay there again if travels bring me back to Portland.

    Lisa2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed in a number of airbnb homes and Lisa's South Tabor Cottage ranks number one on my list for best value! The South Tabor Cottage was very clean, full of amenities, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I booked my stay very last minute, just hours before arriving, and Lisa was more than accommodating. Lisa is very friendly, and saving the best for last....her breakfast is out of this world good! I will definitely stay here again if I come back to the Portland area.

    Amanda2015-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a short but nevertheless lovely stay with Lisa. I would recommend the cottage as it is quiet and a lovely neighborhood and Lisa is a good host.

    Frank2015-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time using AirBnB and what a wonderful experience we had at Lisa's! Everything was absolutely amazing. The breakfast alone is to die for. Lisa was the perfect host and very flexible to the guests needs. I guess the only down side is that all our future AirBnB experiences from now on will never top Lisa's cottage.

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • I was on an international rock and roll tour, and my beautiful girlfriend met me for a single night on the road. I can't even stress how perfect this ace was to escape the metropolises I'll be trapped in for the next few months. And maybe I shouldn't tell anybody this but there's a drumkit in the basement. Ivy thanks!

    Tom2015-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful little Hobbit house with a comfortable bed and a warming wood stove. Ivy was very welcoming and offered to build us wood fires upon a return from the days' adventures.

    Melva2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience! We're currently working on a mockumentary about a sustainable living commune. Staying in the cob hut made it feel like we were a part of our own film. The hut and surrounding property was poetic and cozy, and it made us feel so connected to the natural side of living. We absolutely LOVED the concept of no electricity and only using candles for our evening lighting (beyond romantic, IMO). The gardens were a joy, with fruit dripping off the trees. Our host, Ivy, far exceeded our expectations, as she was warm and courteous as she showed us around the property. The communication before our arrival was perfect as well. She served us delicious tea in the morning. Don’t let the bathroom fool you (based on what others wrote). Yes, it does "look" dark and creepy going down and below their house. But looks are deceiving! The shower head, water pressure, and shower size easily made it our best showering experience of our 10 day road trip (beside a luxury bath in Tahoe). Our only regret was not staying longer. Ivy and her kids made us feel quite welcome, and this is certainly a place I plan on visiting again. Very unique!

    Greg2014-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the mud hut made our Portland experience complete. Enjoyed the cozy hut, neighborhood, the view... Ivy is a wonderful host!

    Laurel2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy was fantastic and the mud hut was a hovel to remember. Spent the evening gazing at the St. John's bridge set against the night sky in a hot tub whaaaat? ∞/∞ stars would stay again any time.

    James2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival, I knew this was a great pick for our first night in Portland. Ivy explained how to get to our mudhut with ease, during which we were greeted by the crew of bold and friendly chickens. Although Ivy and her family were not home at the time, we felt very at ease. The access to the hot tub is a must, rinse first, but there was no place I would have rather been than looking at Saint John's bridge from that hot tub. The overall experience from the afternoon, the comfortable sleep, and the morning I spent in the chicken coop with their beautiful bunny was mystifying. The fire in the hut was key, and also made me feel primitive, thank you for that. To sum it up, stay here. Its a magical space that holds good feelings and now good memories.

    Colleen2015-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb experience I've had! Ivy and family were very welcoming, helpful, and patient with our travel schedule. The hut was adorable and well kept, the location was excellent and in an area that most visiting portland probably wouldnt normally see. we would absolutely stay here again

    Scotti2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience, lovely mud hut ambience in the evenings. We enjoyed the outdoor structure set up as living room (there are blankets for chilly days/evenings), and having a campfire in the evenings. We loved having the chickens cluck around and see the view to the bridge. Check out the Cathedral Park below in the St. John's bridge, it is within 10 min walking distance or shorter drive. +++ Mud Hut highly recommended if you are a nature lover, art lover, and not opposed to basic conditions (small bathroom, futon mattress, no immediate electricity in mud hut).

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • The Tiny House is in an excellent location, is very well maintained, is exceptionally lovely, and we had a great time. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights during our "mini-moon" celebration, and said "good morning" to the chickens each day. Everything was very comfortable, with the basic amenities readily available, including whole bean coffee, a grinder, and a French Press. It was just like coffee back home! Altogether, our stay was very pleasant and highly recommended to others. Thanks again!

    Michael2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We found the Tiny House to be a perfect spot to stay while visiting Portland. On our arrival we were warmly greeted by Duston, Genevieve and their lovely daughter. This very peaceful cottage has it's own entrance from the alley behind. Which is nice, not having to worry about disturbing the hosts. Also, the cottage is full of natural light and was decorated with a great attention to style. As an interior designer, I found this aspect most pleasing. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Overall, our experience could not have been better! We would defiantly come back!

    James2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best Airbnb we've stayed in yet! Charming, clean, exactly as described. It was in a great location - lots of food choices nearby, and easy to get to all parts of Portland. Also the bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in! Would highly recommend this place, and will stay again if we come back to Portland.

    Keenan + Leslie2016-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Portland Tiny House was great! Duston and Genevieve made the stay easy and welcoming. The Tiny House feels brand new and they have done an amazing job with the place. We can't wait to stay there again!

  • The Tiny House is a gem! The house itself was very clean, tidy, and has very lovely decor. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with anything we could have needed, which is a lovely touch. The neighborhood is very walkable and we enjoyed trying many of the local spots and recommendations provided. The chickens were delightful! We had a great time visiting with them throughout the trip and meeting the very friendly cat and dog. Genevieve and Duston were great hosts, including letting us know that they had to use the back gate for a bit during our stay. I would highly recommend the Tiny House to anyone visiting Portland and I cannot wait to go back!

    Ellen2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The best air bnb i've ever experienced. I was wary of using air bnb after a weird experience in Paris but ✨tiny house✨ went above and beyond our expectations! We did not want to leave and so look forward to booking ✨tiny house✨ again! Duston and Genevieve do an amazing job at making you feel right at home with books and magazines and cooking utensils and extra blankets. There wasn't one thing i wished was there that wasn't! The house is walking distance from some gems like Salt & Straw, Extracto and Pine State Biscuits. All I can say is definitely book this house if you're wanting a lovely experience, but also don't because I want to book again whenever i want! Just kidding, but really, stay here. it's great.

    Ashlee2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED our stay at the tiny house. Everything was perfect and Genevieve was so nice. We would definitely come back!

  • This was such a wonderful experience! Everything from the adorable private entryway, to the amenities, and the walkability of the neighborhood was as described in the listing- and even better! We truly enjoyed the space, which was aesthetically pleasing and spotless. Perfect for two people. The bed was really comfortable and the 3 heaters worked perfectly and kept us warm and cozy. Loved the travel guide books that were thoughtfully provided. Can not think of a single negative thing to say about our stay. The neighborhood is beautiful and one of the nicer ones in the area. I felt very safe walking around by myself while my husband was off skateboarding. Quick walk to Hawthorne and Division, great nightlife and food. Did not see the owners at all and we were happy with the privacy afforded to us. Honestly we were sad to leave!

    Erin2016-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Ed and Sari's place. Wish we could have stayed longer but it was quite comfortable in a nice neighborhood.

Walk-able to everything you'd want to do in the Hawthorne District and a short drive to downtown. The room felt new and clean. Getting in and out was simple and Sari followed up by text to ensure we had everything we needed.

    Brandy2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the Loft was great! Although i did not get a chance to meet Roland (due to conflicting schedules), he was always available and made the arrival/leave extremely pain free. The loft itself was very clean, cozy, and quiet. The location was better then expected. It's only a short walk to a Division street, which is filled with restaurants, shops, and bus stops. The neighborhood was also great. I felt very safe and getting around was not one bit confusing. Thanks for everything Roland!

    Miguel2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed my stay here, I slept like a total baby. Everything that you see and read on the pictures is what you get. It was well worth the money and the price. I got the privelage to meet Mr Roland, and he was very nice and warm and inviting to his home. I reccomend staying here to anyone

    Colin2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Roland was such a great host!! He was there when I needed him, but otherwise our 2 schedules rarely intersected. The room was spacious and really fun to get up to - on this cool, kinda narrow, spiral staircase. He obviously put a lot of time into fixing it up. The bed was super comfortable. There are maps of the area. There's a fridge and microwave. There's a super cool bath with jets too. A special touch I liked was the mug for water - when brushing teeth. The temperature of the room was great - and could easily be adjusted - with opening doors, fans, and an A/C unit. I liked to run ceiling fan - but it didn't get too hot. There's a cute little cat, Little who slowly warmed up to me. She's supposedly a mean cat, and she let me pet her one time. That was all I was allotted. My only regret - nothing to do with room - is I should have rented a car. I relied on Lyft and Uber and it got very expensive quickly. If you're coming for more than a day or so - highly recommend you rent a car at airport. I would definitely stay here again. All in all - very pleasant experience. Thank you Roland!

    Clyde2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Roland’s house is the best in Portland !! The location is stellar, and while we didn’t get to speak to Roland a whole lot, he is an amazing host! The room itself is very comfy & cozy, with the fun Jacuzzi!

    Gabriella2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Roland was a great host, very friendly and accommodating - I wish I had more time to talk to him! He made checking in and out very easy, and the loft was clean and comfortable. He had nice touches like a sleep mask and tour books at the foot of the bed. Thanks for a great (but brief) stay, Roland!

Brand spanking new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house.
Our 425 square foot addition is brand new (finished 2015) - immaculately designed, gorgeous and a perfect place to stay during your time in Portland. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and heating), it's own entrance, a blow-up air mattress (for a third guest) and a patio. Stay in a place completely Portland, powered by solar panels, built environmentally friendly, sitting on a major bike street and a couple blocks from the MAX light rail.
Our house is within 2 miles of the fantastic north and north east neighborhoods of Williams, Mississippi and Alberta. There are dozens of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and I leave a list of our local favorites in the house.
  • Once again a nice place to stay.

    Travis And Alison2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything I want from an air bnb stay: clean, quiet, private, easy communication with the host.

    Adriane2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The addition is a great place to stay with inviting hosts. It’s extremely close to public transit directly to the city, but there is still plenty to do in the direct area as well. The addition is clean, stylish, and welcoming. The sustainable practices used by the hosts building it were great to see. Would love to stay here again.

    Nicholas2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay for my short stay in Portland. The place was very clean and comfortable. There are directions for how to use everything and a list of recommendations for food, drinks, and coffee. The design of the place is really neat too!

    Sahar2018-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is such a neat little spot tucked in a cozy neighborhood near a hip area. The MAX stop is steps away. We will definitely be back!

    Mireya2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Joe is an awesome host and the addition is a perfect place to stay to explore Portland! Easy access to public transportation and a nice quiet area with plenty of places nearby that are walkable for dining or grabbing a drink. Joe was very accommodating as we arrived early and he had the place ready for us. He was always easy to get ahold of and very helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend The Addition for your next stay in Portland!

    Michael2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place and easy to find!

    Cierra2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joseph was a great host. He provided detail instructions on how to enter the addition that made our arrival as smooth as possible. The addition is perfect. It is private and makes you feel as though you are staying in your own space rather than in someone's home. The neighborhood was quiet and family-friendly.

  • A wonderfully located, spacious and beautiful apartment. An amazing deal for everything you get! We had a fantastic time on our Portland trip, and part of that was due to the hominess of the place. Lots of nice little extras - coffee, tea, plates, books, etc. a very welcoming experience

    Abbey2015-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! The apartment is super clean and cute and provided some great amenities. It's located very close to some amazing restaurants and bars. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

    Lauren2016-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and comfortable dwelling in a very convenient location...our stay was enhanced by Chuck's advice on local spots, and by the numerous guide books present in the apartment. We loved our time in Portland and this home away from home contributed to our positive experience.

  • John and Annika have done a wonderful job of meeting all of the needs of their renters. This place has kitchen and bathroom supplies, books and maps of the surrounding areas, suggestions of places to see and eat, games and book. It was very clean and comfy. We would definitely come back again!

    Diane 2015-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great apartment, in a great neighborhood with even better hosts! We loved our stay and would return any time. This is an easy A+!

    Daniel2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely one night stay at Chuck and Annika's sweet pad. The shower was hot, the bed was comfy, and the little touches like our names on the chalkboard greeting us and books with tips for what to do around Portland were the icing on the cake. Plus we were like 100 yards from Pok Pok our favorite place in Portland! We love this place and love these two!

    Matt2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The experience with Chuck and Annika is exactly as one would wish for all airbnb experiences. (and I have had some bad ones). When the unit was available earlier than the check in time, they communicated this to me just in case this made life better for me. We were welcomed with cookies and a nice note. The quality of the extra blankets made cuddling up on the couch for a movie a really nice one.

    jenny2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck and Annika are the perfect hosts. Their unit was perfect for our family and it was spotless! They communicated with me prior to my travel date and everything was a smooth process.

Experience the best Portland has to offer from a private studio in a lush, backyard garden. Our beautiful, eco-home on a quiet street is conveniently located in Southeast Portland's best and most walkable neighborhood.
Chosen as one of Portland's 10 best Airbnb rentals by Portland Monthly Magazine, it's hard to find a better deal. Tucked between Hawthorne and Division, you’ll have easy access to award-winning restaurants, movie theaters, coffee shops, parks, and so much more. Our 1909 built home is clean, tranquil, and truly unique. Previously featured on Portland's Build it Green home tour. The one-room light-filled studio is perfect for a single or couple. It has a comfortable full-sized bed with nice linens, a small table and chairs, coat and luggage racks (there is no closet), and a place to sit and read while you enjoy complimentary tea and coffee. Whatever season you are visiting Portland in, you will find the studio to be quite comfortable. It stays nice and cool in the warmer months with a ceiling fan, and the convection heater keeps it warm in the winter. Beautiful photography, by a local artist, graces the walls.

  • Joelle and James' place was a beautiful, comfortable, and conveniently located place to stay in the Hawthorne district of Portland. Their studio was spotless, tranquil, and thoughtfully designed. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and they provided luxurious bedding and plush towels. It is clear that Joelle and James have put a great deal of thought and effort into preparing the garden studio for guests. They were also gracious and informative hosts, providing us with tips on what to see and where to eat. Joelle even made us delicious vegan blueberry bars the morning we left! Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting a great experience in Portland.

    Chris & Christine2014-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Joelle and James were great hosts. Very understanding and communicative . The house is beautiful and brings a peaceful, serene atmosphere to all those who reside there. Definitely check this place out if you can! And the gluten free raspberry squares were outstanding!!!

    Michael and Stephanie2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • James and Joelle are two incredibly warm hosts. We had a great time staying at the garden studio. They took care of everything we needed and had some solid advice about things to see on our trip to Portland.

    James2014-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • James and Joelle were so welcoming and helpful. They made us feel welcome in their home and even let us wash some clothes before we left for our fire tower camping trip. Also, James made some delicious baked goods, and their cats rule!

    Tobias2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Joelle and James' house during the day and found a lovely welcome note with chocolates waiting for us. The garden and the studio were so beautiful that we took pictures of the awesome place we were going to be staying! They have prepared a binder pointing out a great variety of activities in the neighborhood and in Portland that was super helpful. The bed and linens were so comfy and the bathrobes were luxurious. We were in Portland for the marathon and the enormous bathtub with Epsom salts was an amazing way to recover after running 26.2 miles. It is truly in an ideal location for a visit to Portland, right in between Hawthorne and Division with tons of restaurants, shopping, and access to public transportation.

    Jessica2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the Urban Garden Studio. It's close to a couple bus stops, so it was pretty easy to get where we wanted to go. The layout allows you to choose private time or get to know James and Joelle. It was a very cute room and we felt really welcome and cozy. It made our Portland visit really enjoyable. Hope to come back soon! :)

    Lauren2015-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Joelle and James went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, everything was great! They made us delicious treats daily and even incorporated my love for chocolate :) The space was beautiful, and we enjoyed the bubble bath and the hammock, along with use of the backyard. It was easy to park on their house and was walking distance to many shops and restaurants, especially some great ones on Division Street. Joelle and James were especially great at doing little things to make us feel welcomed, like leaving us tips on breweries once they found out we were beer fans, and leaving us to-go bags to take our treats with us on the plane for our early flight. All in all we had a great airbnb experience!

  • Marenda and Heidi have such a great space! My husband and I were very impressed by the design, comfort and convenience of this lovely loft! Nice little extras were a treat, and we really felt like it was a home away from home. Cozy, comfortable, peaceful and well equipped! We would definitely stay again if we return to Portland! Thank you!!

    Melissa2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi and Marenda's place was perfect for our first trip to Portland. The loft house is very well designed and fully appointed. It was stocked with nice linens and a comfy bed . The kitchen was fully equipped. Located in a quiet neighborhood with shops nearby. Great folks to deal with. Highly recommended!

    James2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cutie little loft is exactly what it looks like in photos, and the hosts are just as rad as all the reviews rave about. Groceries near by. An awesome, fully stocked kitchen to make food. Bed is super comfy. Bike paths galore to explore PDX-- No Po being an ideal location to check out all the nooks.

    Chelsea2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. The accommodations were clean and welcoming with all the amenities you could want. The open floor plan and thoughtful design of the place was great as well. We really enjoyed our time here, very relaxing.

  • One of my favorite places I’ve found through Airbnb, wish I could have stayed longer! We were greeted upon arrival and shown the space... which is amazing. Very clean and spacious, bright, and hip. The downstairs area is amazing for lounging, complete with a beautiful kitchen area, and a lovely outdoor patio perfect for sippin morning coffee (and watching the doggos play). Great location- short drive to the airport, as well as all the fun things Portland has to offer. 10/10 would stay again.

    Noah2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • For a relaxing, clean, welcoming stay, this is the place to be. Their home is gorgeous and in a great location.

  • The place was awesome, it fit the description precisely. The landlord's pictures were perfectly accurate. The local area was great and it was so easy to get to local restaurants, bars, coffee shops and food trucks. Incredible location.

    Gregg2014-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location of the house.. Lots to do and see within walking distance! There is just a pull out sofa but for a short stay in Portland the location can't be beat! Rick was a great host, super responsive, easy to get in touch with, and flexible. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to stay near Mississippi.

    Elizabeth2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay in "Little Green"! The location was so perfect. You're just blocks from a plethora of amazing restaurants, bars, breweries and shops. The space was very clean and Rick, the owner was incredibly quick with all communication. I'd absolutely stay here again. Thanks for your hospitality Rick!

    sarah2016-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • My 2 girlfriends and I loved staying at the little green house! Perfect location walking distance to food, entertainment and coffee ;) The house was the perfect size for 3 ladies to share and so cute!

    Elizabeth2014-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was great and made sure we had everything we needed to get into the house and enjoy out stay. The house itself was clean and the garden was beautiful. It was also an awesome neighborhood to stay in that we wouldn't have explored otherwise!

    Greg2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in the perfect location! I enjoyed being able to walk around each day and explore new shops and food. The place seemed a bit worn and could use a more comfortable bed. Parking is pretty good even during the evenings when the bars are busy (since it is right off a main street.) We had to book in a pinch, and it was well worth it!

    Tina2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was very kind in letting me arrive a couple of hours early -- only because the house wasn't booked. Very grateful for that. The location is funky in a good way. It's near the the trending Mississippi area and walkable to some good eats and brews. The garden between the green and pink house is amazing. Street parking was no problem and I felt safe. The space is limited and probably best for one. The shower is nice and strong, there's a fridge and microwave too. Don't expect any pampering or other amenities though -- it's pretty straight forward. In addition, if you plan on traveling there when it's warm, make sure to ask that the AC unit be installed and or have the window screen installed for better cross ventilation.

    Noah2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • i loved staying in the pink tiny house. the smallness and elegance of it was charming. it is both utilitarian and inviting. Rick was a gracious and responsive host. the location can't be beat--i walked to several restaurants for my different meals, and it was like a mini adventure--which ones of the gobs of options do i choose from? you should try it out.

Our studio guest house comfortably sleeps two and features a mini kitchen and private bath. Walk through the garden to your private entrance. Curl up by the fire and enjoy one of the art books from our library. Walk to nearby Alberta Arts District.
With two small children at home, we have found little time to paint in the second floor of the studio building at the rear of our property. Come and enjoy this lovely space! It features high ceilings, ample light, a wood stove (with back-up electric heat), views of the surrounding gardens, a large table and a drafting table to spread out and work on, and an art book library. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. It does not have a cook top or oven or toaster. We provide coffee and tea. The bathroom features a shower stall and an eco-toilet that collects water from hand washing to use on the next flush. With summer temperatures rising, we recently added an AC window unit for our guests comfort. We offer a full bed with a seven inch Ikea spring mattress and a two inch memory-foam topper. Our guests report that the room is surprisingly quiet at night. Please note we do not have a TV; however, our wifi is fast enough to watch movies or shows on your personal device.
I love this place. This is a residential neighborhood with a wide cross section of racial and economic diversity, a lot of the old 'hood funkiness still intact, plus newer hipster creativity and some higher-end business activity. Expect to see a mix of dilapidated buildings and newer or rejuvenated construction. We feel safe at night, however I do advise women to be wary about walking alone at night, particularly if you don't have much street smarts. We are within easy walking distance of Alberta Street Co-op, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. The post office, laundromat, Safeway and Walgreens are very close by as well.
  • Nell's space was just what was needed for retreat and relaxation. My boyfriend and I had an awesome stay. Thank you so much.

    Anna2014-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Nell's place in Portland was one of the best parts of visit to that city. She met us upon arrival and made sure we knew how to get in and out without issue. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, but only a short walk to some lively main streets with plenty of shops, restaurants, and other points of interest. The location also offered convenient access to public transportation. The apartment itself was light and airy, with high ceilings, smart furnishings, and an eco-friendly bathroom. If you're looking for a lovely place to lay your head at the end of a day of exploring, Nell's apartment should be a great fit.

  • We had our best airbnb experience so far at Nell and Jeremy's studio. The place was super clean and the bed was super comfortable! The place is private with a great atmosphere. Easy communication with Nell. Alberta street is great for foods and shopping. We definately recommend this place and wish that we would gave stayed longer.

    Staffan2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • My favorite Airbnb of all time! The retreat is beautifully appointed and there wasn't a single element missing: coffee, check; half-and-half for coffee, check; forgot my conditioner, no problem, check; cosy bed, check! I loved staying in the Northeast neighborhood, on a quiet, pretty street, but still within easy access to Alberta St.'s food options and downtown by car or bus. Even though I did not encounter the hosts once, I felt cared for here, and will, without question, look forward to the garden retreat my next time in Portland. Thank you Nell!

    Jill2015-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was a perfect distance from downtown and a very cozy place to rest. The amenities, especially the fireplace, made for an incredibly welcoming stay. We especially liked the amount of natural light that was available through the skylights and windows when we wanted it. I appreciated the tiny detail of including a Lindor chocolate at our check in, it was a small touch, but very nice all the same.

    Jonathan2016-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Artist's Garden Retreat was a wonderful experience. The studio apartment was well appointed with a very comfortable bed & a terrific library of art books and reference materials. The amenities in the apartment were clean and worked perfectly. The garden retreat is located in a nice neighborhood & is a short walk to a unique shopping & dining area. Nell Parker was a great host for our stay. Her hospitality was appreciated and we would highly recommend the Artist's Garden Retreat!

    John2015-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was lovely! The windows and skylights gave the room great light in the morning, and the wood burning stove was cozy in the evening. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Nell!

    Laura2016-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at the Artist's Garden Retreat! It was perfect for what we needed. We spent a long weekend up in Portland for a little vacation. Only about a 15-20 min drive from the airport, downtown and some amazing hiking trails! I was able to meet both of the hosts and they were very kind and willing to help out with anything we needed. The apartment was beautiful and makes you feel at home. The fireplace is a great touch! It was so nice to come back after a long day of activities and curl up next to the fire. This was my first time ever using Airbnb, I was extremely pleased with how it worked out. I have been recommending it to many friends and co-workers since! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! (:

Other great attributes: - Close to downtown, and about 15 minutes from the airport. - Incredible restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, art galleries, music, and street art are a short walk or bike ride away. - One block from public transportation that drops you downtown before you know it! - Close to our favorite grocery store (New Seasons) with organic food, local products, and an excellent source for gifts or mementos of your stay. - Beautiful Woodlawn, Alberta and Fernhill Parks are within 6 -12 blocks away, or head to Forest Park for great hiking in the middle of the city. - Concordia University is two blocks away, and a great place to stop by to watch a baseball or soccer game in their beautiful open stadium, check out their grounds or wander into the library.
  • This airbnb was beyond lovely! There was quick communication with Melissa and the space was amazing for our quick one night in Portland. Very easy to find and close to many great coffee shops!

  • Great place. The apartment is so cute and had everything we needed.

  • Melissa's place was beautifully decorated. It was full of thoughtful details (like fresh eggs and local beer in the fridge, recommendations for local places, and fresh whole bean coffee!). It was impeccably clean and cozy and the perfect place to stay if you're traveling solo or in a couple. We arrived a bit earlier than expected and she had the flexibility to let us check in early so we could take a break from our conference. Thanks so much!

NEW MURPHY BED w/ comfy mattress. Great little tiny house in a fantastic neighborhood. It is cozy and modern. It's a tiny, stand alone house with a private bathroom, but no real kitchen. Short Term Rental Permit Numb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) -HO
Brand new, tiny-home style house. 200 sq ft. Covered porch. Full bath with standing tile shower. Full-size wall bed "Murphy bed" installed December 2015. Bamboo floors & reclaimed wood stairs. No kitchen, but has a microwave for heating up leftovers, water, or popcorn. Wifi. This is one block off Mississippi Ave, with many bars, restaurants, and one of the best coffee shops (Fresh Pot) in Portland. A block away from Amnesia Brewing and Grand Central bakery. 10 minute walk from the Yellow Line MAX (Overlook station.) Mississippi Studios is right down the street- a fantastic venue for local and traveling bands.
  • Our experience was fantastic. The house is really cute, and clean. The stairs are as steep as advertised. The location was great - very close to a funky, Portland-esque street. My husband complained about not having a TV, but we were fine with good internet and an iPad.

    Danielle2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The pink house was so awesome!!! The location was phenomenal! The bed was very comfortable and the house was clean and very well laid out. We had a wonderful experience and would return without hesitation. Rick was very nice, accommodating and easy to deal with. Overall our stay was fantastic!

    Danielle2014-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect all around! Great digs in a good location. Nothing else to say. Thanks Rick and Kirstin!

    Alvin2014-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This house is wonderful! It's cosy, close to the best bars in North Portland and also close to the freeway and an enourmous and good supermarket. Yet, it's quiet and you can sleep in if you want. If you want to explore PDX I'd recommend you to do it from here!

    Catharina2014-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This architectural duo really has a striking presence on this beautifully landscaped corner location. You cannot beat this location! I had a wonderful yoga and bakery right down the street and my fiancé could easily walk to his course at the United Bicycle Institute. Excellent communication with Rick throughout. Thanks very much!

    Paula2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The little pink house was super cute and we had a great stay. Rick ensured easy access and everything went very smoothly. The Mississippi neighborhood is definitely worth checking out and the little pink house is perfectly located.

    Edward2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very accommodating, great space and location. Would definitely stay again! A shame the city made them take away access to the loft portion.

    Matthew2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The little pink house is a marvel! What a joy! The house is in a residential neighborhood that is nevertheless just a block away from a dozen or two eateries and boutiques that are mostly informal in the extreme or hyper-Design or both. The house is small, true, but larger than I expected; if you've ever lived on a boat, it will feel spacious but you will recall the need to put away A before you set to B. The interiors are uniformly of clean, well-thought-out, modern design, from the black stream rocks embedded in the shower floor to the foldaway table stashed under the counter. Everything works. Rick was friendly, easygoing, and cheerful. I would definitely come back here on my next visit to Portland.

My house is close to light rail and bus lines in a quiet and secure area. Many restaurants, coffee houses and bars are within walking distance and there is a large grocery store nearby in case you need provisions. There are parks within walking distance as is the Adidas campus. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. There is another bedroom that can sleep two and I have an air mattress available.
Private home with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs of the house. Fully equipped kitchen with a laundry room. The stove is gas so please ask for instructions on how it works before using. The back yard is shady and there is a patio with a fireplace. The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to walk around in.
There are quite a few very good restaurants with in walking distance of the house with a sprinkling of coffee houses and bars. Well lit and quiet there are also a couple of parks with in a few blocks. Also a great grocery store is near by.

  • Sheilah is Very warm and kind hosts! They were friendly but also respectful of my privacy. I would highly recommend.

    Mio2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah Airbnb's bath amenities has such good taste!!!! That's why I bought tha same things.

  • Sheilah was great. We connected and had a nice chat when I arrived. She provides a guest book that really points out the many, many, local points of interest(food, bar, activities). I stayed 3 nights. The location was perfect for Max and freeway access. Tried the local sushi spot(Mio??) and Atomic pizza, and Bonita Mexican food, all good and walkable. The home and room are so clean and welcoming. The upstairs (where the guest rooms are) seems almost brand new. The layout is (Website hidden by Airbnb) guest room to right the other to be left. Had my own thermometer/heater. Bedding and room close to immaculate!! So appreciated that!! The shared bathroom is super clean and nice. (Thank you for the disposable razor). I was sharing the bathroom with another couple in the room adjacent to mine although they we were right next to each other, I only saw them once and it felt like I had the place to myself. Totally recommend this room and Sheilah is lovely host(eww).

    Bobby2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, comfortable, and located within walking distance of restaurants. I also liked the midcentury touches throughout the house.

    John2018-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice room, bigger than the photos suggest. Loved that it had its own thermostat. Shared bathroom with the other adjacent Airbnb room, where a couple was staying during my visit – they were quiet but the walls were also surprisingly thick! Sheilah is very sweet. Thanks for a great stay!

    Chrissy2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sheilah is lovely and her place is fantastic. Close to the light rail and busses, it was easy to get to. There are some great bars and cafes within a stones throw and the room was comfortable and clean. Highly recommended.

    James2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • I was only in town for about 36 hours and this place was exactly what I needed. Stylish, clean and functional room that made me feel right at home for my one night stay. Getting there was a breeze and Sheilah did a great job at communicating with me and making sure I was doing well!

  • The location was perfect for us and street parking was available. Brad makes it easy to "check in/out" of the apartment. Everything was clean and the bed was comfy. The room was quiet and everything we expected, we would stay at Brad's place again, it made for a great first time Airbnb experience.

The location is great - we were able to walk to so many shops, restaurants etc. within minutes. We were so comfortable staying here and would definitely stay again if we are ever in Portland!

  • We had a great stay at Brad's apartment. It is cozy, lovingly furnished, and in a great location, walking distance from downtown. We appreciated the coffee maker, detergent for the washing machine, wifi access, dishes for breakfasts in, and parking pass. We highly recommend this lovely apartment and hope to be able to stat there again on a figure trip to Portland.

We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. I can't stress enough how convenient the location was. The actual apt was clean and super cute.

  • Paul is such a wonderful host! He is so welcoming and helpful. His suite is also very clean and comfy. I would stay there again if I ever go back to Portland!

    Sammie2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Paul is a great host. Laid back and patient, our stay was a welcome respite from our long day on the road. The Funky Pad is impeccably clean, and it resembles an Ikea showroom display. The place is small, but utilization of space is remarkable. I did find myself dodging the vaulted ceilings now and again, but it is an attic after all. There are many small amenities available (some for purchase) and the house is located among a major vein in Portland. With a safe, well groomed park across the street, a full sized grocery market within walking distance, and plenty of free parking, we were very comfortable during our overnight stay. A tip: the sleeping nook is almost a soundproof chamber, and thus if you are a light sleeper, drop into this cocoon for some quiet rest.

    Eze2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The funky pad suite was sweet! This was our first AirBnB experience & it couldn't have been a better one. The suite looked exactly like the pictures do, the place was very clean, & the beds were so comfy! Paul was so nice, such a great host & a really cool guy. We are definitely staying here again when we come back to Portland! The location was very close to everything as well. We loved the experience & I recommend Paul's funky pad to anyone visiting the area, you won't be disappointed:)

    Syndee2015-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was awesome! The space was perfect and worked great for what we needed. It was only a 10 minute Uber ride from the heart of downtown or a half hour walk. Perfect location, perfect place.

    Connor2016-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • I arranged for my parents to stay with Paul and Carolyn for a night while they visited Portland - they were great hosts! We met Paul who was welcoming and friendly and gave us a tour of the funky pad and my parents loved it! It was super clean, very cool, and had everything they needed. We especially appreciated that there were some extras in the room - juices and coffee, which we enjoyed with the breakfast we brought them from waffle window. It is a perfect place to stay and I would recommend a stay here!

    Chelsea2014-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and his place were really great. Paul is very friendly and accommodated us last minute, and didn't mind that the other guests in my party arrived quite late. The suite is exactly as described. It feels quite spacious, and there are lots of thoughtful bits and pieces in there if you need them. The only negative for me was that you have to go through the house to get to the suite, which makes it feel slightly less private, but this is reflected in the great value price, as it's much nicer than a lot of other spaces in the same range. Overall a great experience and highly recommended!

My place is close to everything! You will be in a serene guest cottage nestled in a garden between Hawthorne & Division. Within easy walking distance is Pok Pok, Salt & Straw, Little Big Burger, Ava Gene's, Pinolo Gelato, Whiskey Soda Lounge, St. Honore, Townshends, Seven Virtues Coffee, food carts, New Seasons, etc. You’ll love the location. Also the vaulted ceilings with skylights, the garden, and the quiet! My cottage is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
The entire cottage is professionally cleaned after every stay, so it will be spotless upon arrival. Soft, thick Wamsutta towels, plush Charter Club duvet, comfy Ralph Lauren pillows with allergen protection. Coffee/tea and Shampoo/conditioner/bodywash provided. Electronic lock with a new code for every stay; You can check-in at any time with great security and no keys to lose!
Safe, residential, tree-lined street in Portland's hottest neighborhood! Lovely and quiet, but just a few blocks from "restaurant row" (Division St.)
  • Had a pleasant stay in this cute cottage:) it was everything I expected to be, as described in Airbnb:) the area was walking distance from the food places at SE Division road...next time I would definitely stay more than 1 night.. Heather was helpful and friendly.. glad we got to chat with her a bit:)

  • Great space. Great neighborhood. Walking distance to all you would need! All around great host!

    Cierra2018-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • I love how all shops and restaurants were walking distance.

    See2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We didn’t have much time so we wanted to maximize our stay. This cottage was just perfect! We parked and walked to SE Division where we spent our time eating, drinking, perusing shops and people watching. When we were ready to turn in for the night, the bed was so comfortable and the surroundings so quiet that we slept well and woke up refreshed and ready for more sightseeing!

    Trish2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Heather’s place was just as perfect and quaint as described. It was right between the two best neighborhoods in the city. Hawthorne and Division. I felt safe walking around at night through the cute neighborhood. Heather truly went above and beyond. She was a great communicator. I usually am an easy guest but it seemed like everything that could have gone wrong logistically this trip did. I had to move it up a day, got in early and forgot some items. Heather was amazing through all of it. I would definitely stay again!

    Amanda2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, great location

    Rachel2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Heather's cottage was such a great place for this trip. Check-in was so easy and we loved the keyless entry. It was spacious enough for my husband and I, very clean and had everything we needed (even water, snacks, Keurig). We had full privacy but it was good to know Heather was available if needed. The location was walkable to so many great restaurants/shops. We ended up renting a car last minute and we had no problem with parking. We enjoyed staying at the cottage and hope to be able to stay again on our next visit!

    Angelique2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was nice to stay in! Good for a night or two. It’s in a good neighborhood with good night life. Would definitely recommend Salt & Straw close by.
