Just booked in Michigan

Just booked in Michigan
Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • We are regular visitors to Detroit. Finding new territories and enjoying the different styles of neighborhoods, and living spaces is what makes the airbnb experience so unique. Iron Street was as "Banksy" in person as it was in the photos. Thane...you did an awesome job my friend, with the art-deco, Just walking up the stairs and down the brick hallways put us right in the heart of Greenwich Village, Downtown Capetown South Africa, and London all while walking down the hall to Visit Miles Davis..All rolled into one experience. The Visitor-Contact, was a polite woman who knew a lot about everything. ..which was a great amenity in itself. Thane was quite accessible and the loft was impeccably clean and neat. Great heat, plenty of linens and one of the Best 2 pillows, I have ever laid my head on. Only a few miles from everything,UBER was definitely the way to go. Heck, there's even a gym, barbershop and hair salon right downstairs. Areas of opportunity to really have made a better experience, would be to have more modern Television equipment. Yes, there was a "working" television, but it took quite an effort to operate it and get even the most local television stations. (4 channels just didn't cut it, and ROKU...was non-existant. The home is so nice, that we wanted to just stay there and work and watch tv...which was part of our work...and we had major issues until the Host-Contact person came to assist to find us 4 channels. Laundry could not be done, because the washing machines that are available in the building are obsolete, rusted and not very sanitary. This isn't an issue if you are only staying a couple of nights, but I would bring extra garments if you plan to stay more than a few days. Last but not least, the walls and flooring in this unit are virtually paper thin, and we could hear phone conversations, of the neighbors above us and below us. We could hear every conversation, every laugh, every cough, every Song, every toilet flush a as late as 2am, and as early as 3am. We were deprived of sleep every night. Unless you are a party animal, a heavy sleeper who has plenty of clothes, and a great imagination (who doesn't like tv), I would not recommend stay here until some of these things are addressed. I can't say enough that Thane was awesome and his efforts to make us feel comfortable under all of these circumstances deserve much applause because had it not been for his professionalism and gracious efforts, we would have left. Instead, we made it work, Because we really think none of these things were in Thanes control. He totally made his loft a super cool hang out. And if it were a way to ask the neighbors to quiet it down a little, we'd definitely stay again. Because of THANE.

  • Thane was super sweet and was helping a lot )due to the blizzard we arrived in the middle of the night and were able to access the apartment anyway. his loft was super nice, WARM (it was crazy-cold outside) and very clean. I stole some cornflakes from him and he didn`t complain (thank you for that :-))

  • A raw, beautiful space that captures the energy of what it means to be in early 20th C Detroit and the historical relationship to Canada and the French. It's also a cool loft that has its quirks but feels totally welcoming and safe. Thane is an effusive and skilled host. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

    Gary2016-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay, place was as listed. Would stay here again if we have another event in the city.

    Todd2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • It’s hip, cool, safe, convenient, quiet, scenic view of river, nice touches and funky. If you are into authenticity, this is the place . If you’re looking for boring, square condos, look elsewhere. We absolutely loved meeting Karen. She was very kind and thoughtful .

    Sass2018-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is very open and comfortable. We love old buildings and renovations so it was super fun to get inside and stay for a while. Creaky floors, huge windows, amazing brick ... ❤️❤️ The location was within easy access to downtown Detroit and easy to find. Karen gave us access to Thane's recommendations for things to do and to see / we hit many of them and loved it all! We also found a new gem - The Rusted Crow was awesome! Try the portobello mushroom fries! We also rode the Mogo bikes along the riverfront - super fun! All in all a great stay.

    Jen & Forrest2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very unique and beautiful - giant windows, high ceilings, and wood everywhere. The host was very helpful and responsive. While we enjoyed our stay, it was unusually hot in Detroit that weekend and the air conditioning struggled to keep up. It's also a bit loud as you can hear everything from the neighbors above and noise from outside the apartment.

    Eli2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great loft - clean, interesting and comfortable. It accentuated and complimented our trip to Detroit. Thane was polite and helpful. We would definitely stay here again the next time we're in town.

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.
  • It was my second time staying at Jesse's loft. I enjoyed my stay there and look forward to stay there again

    Sam2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just as wonderful as expected. Beautiful space in centrally located neighborhood, great parking. Jesse made everything as easy as possible and checked in to make sure we were all set.

  • I had an amazing time here! It is a wonderful apartment that is beautifully decorated with plenty of space and light. Jesse was fantastic - always available and super friendly. Can't wait to come back and stay here again!

    Hannah2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely recommend staying in Jesse's space whenever you're visiting Detroit. The loft is a dream-- that light! A+++ visual appeal. Nice, comfy bed, all the essential amenities, easy parking, central location, and very responsive host! Jesse responded to every message promptly and offered us brunch suggestions when we couldn't decide (Rose's Fine Foods-- yes, go there! So delicious!!) This will be my go-to rental for all future visits to the Detroit area.

    Beth2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed there the night before my wedding. It was very trendy.

    Taryne2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place ! Close to restaurants and shops. Cool decor. Would stay again

    Holly2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • The loft space was artfully curated, well-equipped, clean and quiet. The bed was super comfy. The loft is located in a unique building, in a safe and well-situated neighbourhood, with easy access to downtown and elsewhere. While we did not meet, Jesse was accessible and responsive to our communications. I would gladly stay at Jesse’s loft again, and would happily recommend it to anyone travelling to Detroit.

    Heather2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, easy parking! Cute, modern, clean and cozy. Perfect jumping off point for seeing the city and chilling. Exactly as represented. Jesse made us feel completely welcome and was super quick to communicate!! Would definitely stay here again.

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • Gorgeous place in a great location! It had everything we could possibly need and was a perfect introduction to Detroit. We hope to be back soon!

    Heather2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Renee and Zac's Airbnb was wonderful! We were delighted by how incredibly spacious, light filled and peaceful the apartment is. You can't help but to feel relaxed when you're spending time here. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful as well. Everything was clean, and communication clear. If you're someone who enjoys renovation, Be sure to ask Zac and Renee for a tour. You will see that they are putting their own personal stamp in the area. Right now their wild flowers are blooming on their side lot. Beautiful!

    Robert2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for anyone looking to stay in Detroit.

    Stephanie2018-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Probably the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. The apartment is amazing, with wonderful amenities and incredible, thoughtful design. Plus, Taco is the friendliest cat. The location is great - a quiet, character rich neighborhood that is centrally located. A highly recommended rental!

    Edward2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • I had such a great time here, the space is amaizing, super creative and unique,it's probably one of the nicest airbnb's I have stayed at.I love Detroit and I love Zac and Renee's house.I also adore taco the cutest cat in the world! xo

    Nkhumise2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Zac and Renee's apartment was a great experience from start to finish. They were prompt communicators and accommodated our request to drop off our bags and park early. We also happened to see each of them at separate times and both exchanges were great with lots of useful tips. The apartment itself is beautiful, spacious and full of amenities. Really love the thoughtful decor and attention to detail. Thanks for stocking lots of basics (like linens, towels, shampoo, soap, and a washing machine for clothes), and little things (like coffee, mixed nuts, butter and other snacks / essentials). There are also lots of board games, books (incl. local guidebooks), a TV with Netflix, a claw foot tub...etc. Come to enjoy Detroit but be prepared for the temptation to just stay in and relax. The location is also convenient - about 30-40 min walk from downtown (but a ~10 min Uber ride) and probably half that to Midtown. For a weekend those two neighbourhoods are enough to keep you busy. Their street is quiet, well-kept and felt safe. The apartment was also well-protected with locks and an alarm system. It was hot when we visited but open windows were enough - no need to use provided A/C. Lots of natural sunlight made for a visually appealing experience too. All in all a great experience and would definitely stay again - thanks!

    Anton2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful gem hidden on the second floor of a victorian home. We absolutely loved staying here. It was clean, simple, and well-organized. It had little in it but at the same time everything we needed. We would 100% recommend this to anyone spending a few nights in/near midtown, going to a show or checking out some galleries. Can't wait to have a reason to go back.

    Harry2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Zac & Renee's place is absolutely beautiful, the pictures really don't do it justice. The lighting is perfect for morning yoga. The neighborhood is very colorful and it's closed enough to downtown. I will definitely be staying at Zac & Renee's again next time I go to Detroit.

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • The place was even better than the description and photos. My husband and I were traveling with another couple and there was more than enough room for us. It is beautifully and thoughtfully appointed. Meghan gave us ideas of places to eat and things to do. All in all, a fantastic experience.

    Merilyn2015-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Honor and Folly made us want to move back to Detroit! My friend and I are natives and we rediscovered the emerging energy of Corktown and it's environs. What a fabulous location on one of the hottest hippest blocks in town. And the place is beautiful: urban modern reclamation of beautiful 1800s architecture at its finest. We loved our little porch overlooking the freeway and felt a part of the town's resurgence just being here.

    Diane2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Love staying at this place every time I am in Detroit!

    Jackie2018-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Corktown is a great neighborhood and this listing is a fantastic home base from which to explore.

    Niels2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment in a great neighbourhood. Lots of good restaurants nearby and a really good vibe.

    Meighan2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magic. Honestly can't imagine a better home base for exploring Detroit. Requires a rudimentary level of city-smarts (when it comes to parking for example), but I don't think of that as a problem, exactly. We never met Meghan in person but she was very responsive and gracious by text. Highly recommended.

    Todd2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Another fabulous stay at Meghan's. The best block in Detroit - best restaurant and best cafe right below! - and an incredible loft. Can't recommend the place enough.

    Clynton2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Honor and Folly is every bit as beautiful as it looks on-line. Restaurants just downstairs serve great food. It is Detroit so the neighborhood beyond the immediate area feels desolate, but you can feel a devoted, friendly community working hard to fix that. One comment: there is no number on the door and the mailboxes right there are for a different address, but it becomes pretty obvious that only one door has the right kind of lock and that's the door to Honor and Folly.

  • What a fun experience at Kyle's place! We absolutely love this loft! Very spacious and clean, and the layout was just fun for our kids. Checking in and out was also very easy. I definitely will recommend it to my friends.

    Lili2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • A very unique place. We really enjoyed it. It's eclectic, open and airy, and the air conditioning was very very cold!!!!

    Denise2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • When originally booked we saw Model J as the original picture but instead got Model C. Model C is nothing like Model J. Luckily, we had a great host who allowed us to trade spaces. I would just check which model you are getting before getting there. Other than that Model J was immensely huge. Great space, had such a NY vibe to it. Very minimal. We enjoyed it for the night. You could bring a few things to make it more homely like candles towels etc. but great to see this in Detroit.

  • Kyle's place is perfect if you are visiting Detroit with a large group. We rented 3 apartments and everyone had a great time. Kyle was very professional and helped with everything we needed. We will stay here again. Thanks Kyle!

  • We had rented out the entire Chaps Lofts building, 12 units, from Friday to Monday for our family and out of town friends to stay during our wedding weekend. It worked out fantastic! Kyle walked me through the check in process for each room on Thursday when we checked in a day early for 2 units. He also took the time to go over details of beds and bathrooms for each unit based on my notes taken from each Airbnb listing so I could accurately assign rooms per group. Each and every guest LOVED the lofts. There were plenty of good, quality towels provided as well as nice linens for the beds. Even with couples & friends pairing up to share units, they all felt comfortable and safe. Since my family was staying there as well with small children, safety was a concern. Kyle took time in advance of our weekend booking to meet my parents and walk them through a unit to let them know what this place was all about. He also fielded all calls / questions after that meeting from my Dad who isn't used to this type of overnight stays. Since this area is a little off the downtown area, I would definitely prepare to have a car or plan for Uber to get around. Luckily there is secure parking in which we had no problems parking cars safely over the weekend. Overall, the lofts are spacious, clean, comfortable and we felt safe there. I hope we get the opportunity to stay again sometime. They made the weekend a complete success!

    Michelle2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriends and I stayed here the night before my wedding. We are local but were looking for a fun and unique space to get ready at in the morning. We had hair, makeup and photographers there and it was AMAZING! The loft is exactly as described plus there is a rooftop deck. The area is not downtown but one should know that by looking at a map. We enjoyed the abundance of light and the industrial look of the loft. The loft was so much more spacious than I even imagined. The beds were comfortable. Communication with the host was good. There was a party/rave going on in the building behind us the Friday night we were there which we could really hear which made it tough to get to sleep but it was nice to see/hear the city alive! Thanks again, Kyle!

Fresh Gothic-Victorian nearby the Museum of African American History, Wayne State, Third Man Records, Shinola. Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • Lovely studio filled with light in the heart of Detroit. (Seriously: The pictures don't do it justice.) Safe, clean, and close to everything. You can walk to bars, coffee, restaurants, and museums. (I'd recommend getting a bike if the weather is right—Detroit is best explored on two wheels.) And we had no problem getting an Uber when we wanted to go elsewhere in the city. This is the perfect spot for a weekend in Detroit. Sarah was super quick to respond to any questions we had and made our trip smooth and easy. We'll be back again soon!

  • This was our second stay at Jacquelyne & Mark's place and it was just as perfect as we remembered. Co-host Mark handled all our needs with 5-star communications - simply couldn't ask for better response. The apartment itself is exactly as it appears in the photos. Well-appointed, all the modern amenities and comfortable. Great wi-fi, which was perfect for us as we were here on business. I can't say enough about the midtown neighborhood location! Everything - bars, restaurants, good coffee places, live music, museums, shopping and Whole Foods - are in walking distance and parking is rarely a challenge. If you are coming to Detroit to see the changes in this very cool city, look no further than Jacquelyne & Mark's place. If you are coming for business and don't want to stay downtown (which is close, btw), treat yourself to a stay here. You will be truly pleased.

  • Mark and Jacqueline’s place is wonderful. As usual. It’s my favorite place to stay when I’m in Detroit.

  • I didn't get to meet Sarah but checking in and out was a breeze and the place was awesome. The location can't be beat (I love me some Midtown Detroit) and the house is very cool. The studio is small but perfect for what I needed. It was super-clean and had every amenity you could ask for. If you stay here, you MUST eat at Selden Standard. Seriously one of Detroit's best restaurants ever. Great place that I'd love to stay in again someday.

    Fabian2015-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great accommodations in a fantastic location. The kitchen is well apportioned, and the room is bright with natural light, clean, and comfortable. It's a secure location close to great food, coffee and nightlife. The host's recommendations were appreciated. Definitely recommend this spot, hope to use it again on future trips!

    Michael2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for sharing such an amazing space. It totally made my time in the Detroit area more enjoyable.

    Chris2018-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect in every way. I know it sounds dramatic, but that's the truth. It was immaculate, beautiful, well-lit, comfortable, secure. Checking in and out was organized and easy. On top of that, there truly is not a better location to be in Detroit than where Sarah's apartment is. It's within walking distances to some of Detroit's finest, newest and oldest establishments. Would recommend over and over again.

    Terry2015-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s studio in midtown Detroit was terrific! The apartment is incredibly clean and in a great area in the heart of where all the growth and revitalization is happening in D-Town (Shinola, Filson, new apartments, etc.). It was a very quick uber (or longer walk) to down town. Sarah is brief but very nice and responsive before and during the stay!

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. Originally a hub for Polish immigrants Hamtramck has maintained its eastern European flair and guests will find excellent Polish restaurants, markets with delicious pierogi, keilbasa, and stuffed cabbage along with a Polish Art Center equipped with treasured artifacts and souvenirs. Hamtramck also has some excellent Bengali, Indian, Iraqi and Yemeni food! • This is an adorable apartment and Matt and Meredith really thought of everything. The bed is extremely cozy and comfortable, and my favorite part was the beautiful bathroom- especially the bathtub! Staying here really relaxed me and I wish I could have stayed longer.

    Katie2017-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Meredith were extremely accommodating. Their flat was just as advertised. Plenty of parking in front. They have lots of recommendations for the area and even left a map for an early morning run! This was just one of many examples as to how thoughtful they were as hosts. Excellent communication with us throughout, we would definitely be open to visiting again.

    Aaron2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed in Matt & Meredith's apartment for a long weekend in Detroit. We'd never heard of Hamtramck before this trip, and completely fell in love with this town. Conveniently located just outside the city limits, Hamtramck has an incredible variety of restaurants and dive bars for its size. All of our Detroit sightseeing was a 10-15 minute drive from Hamtramck, and UberXs were easily accessible. Matt gave us some great food recommendations both in and outside the city, and the apartment space was beautifully maintained and decorated. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique Detroit experience.

    Amy2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • The description of the place was very accurate and everything was neat and clean when we arrived. They had a welcome sign with our names on it and a bottle of wine waiting for us. Very thoughtful.

    Zachary2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We fell in love with Detroit staying in this place! It was so sweet and comfortable. The neighborhood was awesome- and one we might not have explored if we stayed some place else but, had great bars and restaurants and lots of art and culture. And Mathew and Meredith are absolutely professionals. Definitely check out their list of recommendations. Would take my parents there- which is the highest compliment I can give.

    Emma2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Meredith's place is quaint and obviously lovingly taken care of. It has everything you need in the kitchen and bathroom. It is a comfortable space. We recommend staying there.

Up north at its best! Stay in a custom cabin in the middle of Rocky Top Farms, a cherry orchard. Please read this listing completely!
Custom timber-frame cabin was built by my husband, father-in-law, and me with the help from many, many friends. The little cabin is in the middle of a large cherry orchard in the heart of beautiful northern Michigan and is situated on a pond surrounded by birch trees. The love is in the details at this very special place. Climb a ladder to the romantic sleeping loft and gaze at the incredible northern night skies! Wonderful front porch! Locally made art. Amazing soapstone wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic, flickering firelight. Shared outdoor 6 person hot tub. The small kitchen is equipped with all you might need to make some wonderful meals. Fridge, sink, oven with stove top griddle, microwave. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, basic oils and spices are included. OH~ and coffee maker complete with coffee. Towels, bedding and firewood are also provided. Enjoy acres of Michigan orchard, prairie, and woodlands. The north end of Torch Lake is just a couple miles away. Lake Michigan beaches are within minutes of driving. Ski resorts, breweries (can you say SHORT'S BREWING?), wineries, restaurants, farm markets are all within reach for great day trips. This property is best accessed by four- wheel drive during the winter months. You could say we are off the beaten path. This cabin can be rented in conjunction with The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms- check it out! The Treehouse is near The Cabin, but both buildings have been designed to have a feeling of privacy. There is a wall of pine trees between the cabins. Please be reminded that this is a working orchard. You may hear ambient tractor noises at various times. You should have 4 wheel drive to access the cabin in winter- I am not joking!!! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! We are located 15 minutes south of Charlevoix and 20 minutes north of Elk Rapids. Bellaire (home to Short's Brewery) is 20 minutes away. Traverse City is about 30 minutes to our south. See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. No public transport around here, sorry. You must have 4 wheel drive to visit the cabin in the winter.... Otherwise, prepare to hike about 1/4 mile to the cabin, and park at the barn. If you have to be towed out, the cost is between $50-$100. The water here is well- water. It isn't the city water you might be used to. It does have a yellowish cast because there are many tannins in it. The water has been tested, and is fine to drink. You may want to bring your own drinking water if are used to chlorinated water.
We love our rural neck of the woods! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. Our immediate neighbors consist of farmers, artists, a college professor, bee keepers, a massage therapist, a chef, an energy conservationist and a professional star-gazer_ truly! Our neighborhood is spread across many miles, but we are look out for each other and are friends.
  • I'm a first time user of Airbnb, and Heidi made it wonderful. Great location, great cabin, great host. We stayed two nights. We showed up very late our first night and Heidi still kept track to make sure we made it alright and that the cabin was ready. Everything was clean, and the host provided many amenities I was not expecting. She even included a handwritten note of many nearby attractions, restaurants, stores, etc. It was a very rural setting, but only about a half hour drive from Traverse City. All in all, absolutely worth it.

    Brendan2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little cabin in a secluded area. I stayed here for the Charlevoix Marathon and it was much better than a hotel. Very relaxing to sit on the deck and watch and listen to the wildlife pass by.

    Parcival2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • We came to Rocky Top farms as part of our honeymoon trip ( all the way from England!!) ... it was exactly what we expected and more ... a perfect little haven... the best place to relax, unwind, sit in the hot tub and drink wine!!

    Constantina2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great stay at the little cabin (for the second time). My husband and I can't say enough good things about this place and how wonderful Heidi is. This place truly is good for the soul.

    Sarah2015-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is even nicer than you would expect from the pictures and we immediately fell in love with the place when we arrived. Everything is really functional and beyond that, Heidi put so much effort in the details of decorating the place, that it is very cozy. The cabin is located in beautiful nature and we had nice walks on the trails on the orchard. It is very quiet and perfect for a relaxing weekend. With Heidi's instructions it was easy to find and we could always reach Heidi by text throughout the weekend when we had questions. The little kitchen is well equipped and we found everything we needed to prepare our own meals. We also loved the porch and it is a great place to hang out and get some evening sun especially once it will be a little warmer. Heidi left instructions for the place and recommendations what to do in the nearby area, which was really helpful. We could not have had a better weekend. Thanks, Heidi!

    Anne2015-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a seriously beautiful adventure at the little cabin. Heidi and her family make you feel right at home and provide such an incredible experience for you! Explore the orchards and immerse yourself in the natural and glorious beauty of Rocky Top Farms. This was better than any 5 star hotel could be. Highly recommended :)

    Kimberly2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! My girlfriend and I had a magnificent time at Heidi's quaint cabin in the country. Beautiful grounds, very secluded, with a brand new hot tub ready to jump in at any time. The wood stove was super cozy and stocked with plenty of wood. Very close to downtown Charlevoix where there are some great restaurants, but we ended up staying in and cooking for most of our meals. There was basically a blizzard while we were there and we ended up staying longer than expected to let the roads clear up. Heidi was very accommodating and never rushed us out. Overall an excellent spot at a reasonable price and we will be back in the future. Highly recommended!

Craftsman style, 2 bedroom cabin with large windows overlooking the designated "National Wild and Scenic" Pere Marquette River.
Craftsman style, 2 bedroom cabin with large windows overlooking the designated "National Wild and Scenic" Pere Marquette River. Peaceful and cozy craftsman style cabin in the woods overlooking the Pere Marquette river. Large windows on the riverside allow for a spectacular view of the river and lovely sunrises. The cabin has central AC and central heat, but there is NO TV or Internet/WiFi. The kitchen is well stocked with most cooking essentials. There is a tea kettle, various coffee pots, coffee bean grinder, dishes, pans, small refrigerator, and small functioning vintage stove. Freshly laundered bed linens, blankets and towels are provided. The town grocery store is conviently located less than a mile from the cabin. Both bedrooms have a full size mattresses. There is also a futon in the living room that could be used for additional guests. There is a 2 person tandem kayak, canoe and fishing poles are available at the cabin and are free for guest use. The burn ring by the river and a fire pit on the property that can be used for bonfires or roasting marshmallows. A door code enables guests to check themselves in after 3pm. We are available by text/email or phone during their stay if there any problems or questions. The cabin is located in Baldwin which is a small rural town that has very limited attractions or resturants, but makes for quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Cabin is located on Pere Marquette river which is a designated "National Wild and Scenic" river and is world renowned for excellent fishing for rainbow trout, brown trout and Steelhead. The river section directly in front of the cabin is open for fishing only during the last weekend in April to end of September (trout season). It is also a very popular river for canoes and kayakers since it is steady and considerably clear which is perfect for paddlers with basic skills. The cabin is located about a 2 minute drive from the closest 'open all year round' river location. The cabin is 1.5 hour drive from Traverse City (Wine tasting, beaches, cherry orchards) and/or Grand Rapids MI (Art prize, Fredrick Meijer sculpture Gardens). It is also 45 Min. drive from Ludington which has miles of public beach on Lake Michigan. Pleae note there is a approx. 50 yard walk from the driveway to the cabin. Smoking inside the cabin is not allowed. Pets are ok with the following considerations: no wet dogs in the cabin (most dogs love swimming in the river), no pets on the furniture and up to date flea control is appreciated. The cabin is located 3.5 miles from the start of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail which is a excellent mountain biking and hiking trail.
The cabin is located in Lake County which is over half state (Pere Marquette State Forest) and federal land (Manistee National Forest) with endless hiking opportunities. The cabin is located very close to the North Country National Scenic Trail. There are multiple sections of the North Country trail that allow mountain biking and also the Big M trail is nearby. The cabin is located near the small town of Baldwin which has very limited attractions and no notable restaurants therefore this is not the place to come for man made sightseeing that is nearby.
  • Awesome experience!! The place was even better than the photos! We were looking for an escape from the everyday hustle & looking to "unplug", this place was perfect for that. We were welcomed with a little gift from the hosts & were overwhelmed by how clean & eclectically decorated the cabin was. There is a huge binder full of great information for guests which came in handy. We spent our days lounging in our hammock, hiking & cooking over the outdoor fire pit. We didn't want to leave, highly highly recommend this place!

  • Awesome stay. Definitely will be back.

    Tom2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing. From the river view, to the fly tying desk, to the great collection of fishing books, it is the perfect place to post up for a few days fishing on the Pere Marquette. After a day on the water, it has everything you need - a nice bathroom with a hot shower, a grill to cook up something delicious, and a number of great spots to kick back and relax. It is also clear that the owners really love the place and have put a lot of thought into getting all the details right. I really enjoyed my stay here and hope to make it back again before too long.

    Daniel2012-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin - very scenic and secluded. We spent a day just hanging around the cabin, and then used it as a jumping-off point over the next few days to go swimming at Ludington State Park, mountain biking at Big M, and Cherry Festival-ing in Traverse City. If anything, I wish we'd had another day to just chill out before driving home.

    Jared2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Russ And Jade’s place was welcoming, quaint, and exactly what I had expected for a few days of R&R. Waking up with the sunrise and spending evenings warming up next to a campfire by the Pere Marquette made the days feel more connected to the natural beauty of the area.

    Anthony2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway from the daily grind. This was our first trip away from the kids, and it was great. The proximity to Ludington and Traverse City is nice and very easy to do; especially with little ines that need to stop more often.

    Anne2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Exactly as described. Russ and Jade were very accommodating hosts.

    Barry2016-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we caught a glimpse of this craftsman style gem on the site and inquired about it with Jade, she was very responsive and answered all of our questions before booking. We booked immediately as most dates were scheduled and we wanted to experience staying here with our two dogs on the Pier Marquette River as we both love to fish. Based on the pictures and artifacts in the cabin that were delightful, we assumed that this was a place close to the heart of the family full of much history and love. The craftsmanship of the renovation was very detailed with several woods and wonderful hardware details inclusive of tile work, and beautiful patina on the metal copper and bronze details. Wonderful collection of books that would entertain many. Artists at heart. This is a perfect get away for folks that appreciate nice, authentic accommodations. The river was wonderful to enjoy by all of us. It was a hot weekend and we were able to set the chairs in the river, grab a cold drink and book and relax. The surrounding area was quiet, even on a holiday weekend. You are surrounded by woods and can barely see the house behind the cabin. There is a fully stocked super market within walking distance for all of your needs inclusive of beverages. Gas station too. We saw deer on our walk around the neighborhood and experienced lots of hummingbirds and several varieties of woodpeckers. Bring you binoculars. We were not interested in going into Ludington as we have been there many times before and wanted to just stay put and we were encouraged to do so once inside. A fantastic get away!

  • It's a special place with amazing views, and was beyond anything we could have expected. It was great to truly unplug and enjoy what life is really about. We hope to visit again, and thank Bruce and Karie for sharing their slice of heaven with us.

    Heather2018-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • As all the reviews say, this place is just incredible! We spent a wonderful 4 nights here in wintertime. The space is sweet and cozy, the gas lights are plenty bright for reading and board games, and the heater kept us warm even when temps dropped below zero. And of course, the location is unbeatable. We cooked dinners over the fire, in the snow, as the moon rose over Lake Superior. It was an unforgettable winter vacation. The manager Greg was super helpful and answered all of our questions, both before and during the stay. There was a winter storm our first night, and the next morning someone in a Bobcat plow was there, clearing the driveway. A few notes for winter guests: 1) The propane heater is powerful! When we had been out all day, we'd come back and crank it up high until we stopped seeing our breath (this took about an hour), and then turn it down to the very lowest setting and keep it there. This kept the indoor temp at a comfortable 65F. 2) Bring warm slippers for inside, though -- the heat rises and the floors stay super cold. 3) Bring some old towels. We used them for mopping up stray bits of snow that blew in when we opened the door, and for general cleanup. And we couldn't really use the screened-in porch for food prep or eating (we had sub-zero temps and high winds), so it helped us stay tidy to just spread some towels on the floor to catch any stray bits of broccoli or whatever. 4) Bring your own water, in case the raised tank is frozen. 5) Take a roll of TP to the privy with you each time -- fine bits of snow can blow in there, so TP left in the privy gets cold AND damp.

    Pam2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were thankful to have such a great place to unplug, relax, and enjoy a quiet getaway. This is a high-quality site with a great view of Lake Superior, it is well-maintained, and we had timely communication with the host. There is no electricity, but there is a propane gas grill, a water source, and supplies for cooking. We liked how secluded the location was, and yet it was close enough to drive into town.

Scandinavian modern home within a wooded setting, convenient to the towns of Leland, Suttons Bay, Northport, and Lake Leelanau. Walk to lake access, hike the cherry orchards, explore local wineries, distilleries and farm markets.
The house comfortably sleeps 6 people, there are two queen beds and two twin beds. There are two full baths and a powder room. The master bath has the soaking tub while the second floor bath has a large shower. The simple euro style kitchen is well equipped for cooking and serving, complete with convection oven, gas cooktop, drawer dishwasher, and refridgerator/freezer. The windows and location gives the feeling of being in a very comfortable treehouse.
The Wayfarer is located between the neighboring home, a wooded area and cherry orchards. Within a short walk there is a very nice public access to Lake Leelanau, a great spot for daily swimming and sunsets. The public access even has a boat dock for meeting up with boating friends.
  • Beautiful, extremely conveniently located cottage at Lake Leelanau. Very well furnished and stocked (dry goods and necessities) for weekend getaways. We enjoyed day trips to Leland, Sutton's Bay, and all the wineries you could hope to visit. Our golden retriever especially loved jumping off of the dock and swimming at Porter's Landing. Would highly recommend this accommodation for your next trip to Leelanau. 5 stars.

    Jenn2015-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a great experience! The house was exceptional and Sean was the greatest host. The accommodations were incredibly clean and attention was given to all details. A perfect weekend!!

  • Bright, beautiful space; comfortable mattresses; sparkling clean surfaces; attentive but unobtrusive host; quiet neighbors. An ideal base from which to explore the county. All as advertised.

  • Understated sophistication with all the creature comforts one would hope for. I look forward to a return visit in the future.

  • Whether your sitting in the tub or cooking on the stove, you feel as if you're outside in the trees in this space. Its simple, clean design makes you feel really peaceful there I think too. Especially if you're use to clutter of any kind! No clutter in this place! I love the European design of cabinets, cupboards etc. I LOVED THE TUB! It is a great place for a get away for 2 or for a small family. Everything was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was comfy too! Everything you need is just a 10 minute drive away to so even though your secluded, there are some really great restaurants, wineries, a grocery store with organic food and everything you need! Thanks Sean!

  • The house itself is beautiful! Very comfortable for our party of 4 and 2 pups. Short drive to Leland. Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear are about 45 minutes away/Traverse is about 30 minutes away. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!!!!!

  • We couldn't have had a better time at the Wayfarer. Sean and Sarah were so easy to get ahold of if we needed, checked in to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The house is clean and cozy (and well stocked with utensils and appliances you might need) yet modern and beautifully designed. The location is great, scenic, pretty private but close to everything. Would recommend to everyone!

Sleeps at least 8 (max 12) across 3 floors with 3 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, decorative fireplace, etc. The Beach: 150' of private West Bay beachfront for your use. Water is shallow (great for little swimmers/dogs) for a ways out. Beach toys, a few chairs and towels provided. We suggest aqua socks for little children given our own experience! There is a fire pit on the small bluff overlooking the water as well. The house: This is a traditional log cabin that is fully outfitted (towels, linen, cookware, etc) and furnished for comfort and a Northern Michigan vacation-style. 3 floors of space to sprawl, relax and enjoy. There's a very private deck off the back of the home. Linens and towels provided. Lower level bathroom completely remodeled and updated in December 2016. The indoor fireplace is only decorative. (please note!) The upstairs jacuzzi is permanently retired and not in use. Neither of these features are advertised as perks at the cabin, so please don't be disappointed that they are not available! Both are for the safety of our guests! *We are unable to accommodate weddings or special events due to insurance liability and facility requirements. Dogs welcome with an additional $25/day fee payable 1 week before check in. Please inquire with questions!
Location: located half mile off M-22, Lee Point is a quiet street made up of beaches, houses and local neighbors & vacationers. It's friendly, private and beautiful. It's a short trip into the charming village of Suttons Bay, and very close to the hustle and bustle of Traverse City and all it has to offer. We're a stone's throw from Black Star Farms as well! The house is located directly across from the private beach. Lee Point Road is generally very calm, but does pick up in the summer due to tourists and cherry season, so it is advised that children have an adult to cross over to the beach.
  • The log cabin is beautiful and we loved the large rooms and beach access. The location is perfect for getting away and enjoying nature but not too far for a quick trip to the store. We enjoyed being close to the water and took several walks. Our party was up there for the Bay Shore runs and for wine tasting. It was a great location for both.

  • Beautiful cabin, gorgeous views of the bay. Recommend highly. Our host was very responsive. A+++++ The private beach was great! Perfect for a large family.

  • This house was perfect for a girl's getaway weekend. The view of the water and beach are spectacular. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware, glasses, coffee pot, etc. Plenty of towels and at least 2 hair dryers! (Never checked the bathroom on the main level for one). Only saw one small bottle of shampoo/conditioner so good idea to bring your own. Easy to get in and out of and plenty of parking for multiple cars. Overall a fantastic weekend.

    Laura2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication, great host, great house. Location is close to winery's and a few new brewery's but private enough to have a relaxing weekend away.

  • Colleen's lakeside home was a perfect place to relax, take in the beautiful views, and explore the Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes area! She is a very accommodating and responsive host. This is our second visit and we hope to come back soon!

    William2018-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place. Came up with four adults and two kids. The lake access is great and convenient and the house is really fun - a log cabin the lake (just as advertised). You’ll love it. Colleen is a great host and very, very responsive.

  • This is a lovely, warm, spacious, well appointed home with a great view of the water. You feel at home when you walk in. This is clearly a space that was created lovingly. The information about the home is in a binder that is easy to follow. The perfect cozy spot for a post holiday recharge with the kids. Thank you!

  • Nice and secluded but still very close to many vineyards and other fun things. Very clean and very nice space to be in.

There's plenty of parking. A short walk or ride to Lake Michigan Pier Ave. Beach. Warren Dunes is close by too. One bath with a Jaccuzzi bathtub. A clean simple well equipped kitchen, brand new stove and refrigerator. Farmers markets in Union Pier and Three Oaks on weekends. Greenbush Brewery in Sawyer. The cottage is close to many quaint small towns. Three Oaks, approximately six miles from the cabin offers antique shopping, galleries, a distillery, movie theater and several restaurants. Sawyer is home to Greenbush Brewery, and Mesa Luna a restaurant which features home grown fare, a grocery store, a clothing store in a former fire station and Sawyer Garden Shop, featuring, fresh produce, a great wine selection and gourmet foods.
  • Just as described! My wife and I stayed here for Valentines day weekend. It was extremely cozy and just what we were looking for. You can't find this amount of charm and peacefulness in a hotel! We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to get away. Price was great, too :) Very quick reply from the host.

    Stasia2013-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My wife, dog and I spent two nights, and we couldn't have been happier. The temperature got down into the negatives, and we were warm and cozy by the fire the whole time. The house was beautiful and inviting, and Linda and Floyd were very welcoming. We are definitely looking forward to coming back again!

    Kevin2015-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Floyd's cottage was an amazing experience. The cottage was beautiful in every way. I wanted to stay forever. Linda was an amazing host, helping us navigate through the woods, and preparing such a lovely cabin. I can't think of a better get away for any season!

    Katy2014-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Floyd's cottage was a fantastic winter getaway from the city. My girlfriend and two of our friends went out there for MLK weekend and were amazed at how easy a drive it was from Chicago yet how much it felt like a world away. The cabin was unlocked and perfect when we arrived, and Floyd stopped by a few minutes later to make sure we knew how to use the wood stove (already stocked with wood, of course). There are plenty of dishes to use if you'd like to cook your own meals, and lots of notes/directions on a bulletin board for places to go in the area. The cabin is wonderfully decorated, and really feels like a personal space which makes it feel all the more welcoming. There's a fantastic screened in porch too that we didn't use obviously because of the winter, but hope to return to in the warmer months to check out.

    Colin2015-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Floyd's. The home feels very cozy and while it's nicely tucked away in tiny wooded neighborhood, the downtown area was just a few miles away and easily accessible. Entertainment wise, there are plenty of books and boardgames and also a TV. We spent most of our time sitting around the fire chatting and listening to music. Also, we were able to cook a huge turkey dinner with everything the cottage had. Everything was very clean and organized. And best of all, it's only about an hour and a half from Chicago. We're already calling this "our vacation spot."

    Alison2013-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Quirky and ecclectic is right up our alley! Loved our time at Floyd's Cabin this past weekend while enjoying a Notre Dame football weekend. The cabin is a treasure and Linda and Floyd were so easy to communicate with prior to our visit from NJ and so helpful once we arrived. The cabin is very large and welocming. Thrilled to discover a new "warm and fuzzy" place to stay as well as being able to discover the Harbor Country of Michigan after spending time at ND...

    Mary Jayne2013-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We just returned from the most relaxing weekend at Floyd's cottage. Floyd met us when we arrived and offered ideas about where to grab a coffee in town. The cottage was warm and bright and had everything we needed. Linda was really quick to respond to my questions while booking the cottage (our first experience with Airbnb) and made the entire process a piece of cake. We can't wait to return! Thanks Linda and Floyd!

    Jill2015-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Floyd made us feel welcome on a wintery Friday night with a warm fire already going. The cabin in charming and cozy. We loved our weekend and were so happy we were able to bring our dog along! Thank you!

We were there for the tulip festival and found ourselves not wanting to go see flowers, but rather to sit on deck and enjoy the water view! Only thing we couldn't work out was the microwave - but hey, no biggie!! Thank you Harriet

  • We rented Karl's place for the weekend to visit the art fair and visit the wineries. When we arrived everything was as expected. The house was clean, well furnished, off the road with a big lot making it quiet and comfortable. There was wood for the fire pit in the back and chairs to set around the fire which we enjoyed in the evenings. We would definitely consider Karl's place when we visit again.

    Matt2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Karl's place was as advertised and reviewed - clean, spacious and situated well in wine/brewery country. Communication was excellent. We had a great weekend visit.

  • Karl was a great host!! Clean and beautiful home. Coming from the city we were looking for a quick relaxing getaway, and got just what we wanted. Karl was quick to advice us on the nearby stores and restaurants. We were able to check out a few restaurants and then come back with groceries for a home cooked meal, kitchen fully stocked! It was a great experience.

  • Great location, just a few blocks to the downtown area and to the beach. Justin was a great host and went out of his way to accommodate us and make us feel at home. Home was very clean and we had a great stay.

    Ryan2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Justin's cottage for a weekend and had a very pleasant experience. The cottage is a short walk from Bridge St. and the beach. There was only one other person staying with me, but the cottage could comfortably house a small family of 4 or 5. Justin was very attentive. I definitely recommend staying at this location.

    Saloni2014-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great choice for our family of 5 as we visited the area in December to ski. Sleeping accommodations were great, kitchen met our needs, really enjoyed playing games and accessing the great variety of shows on the TV. Justin was very responsive to our needs so the heat could be adjusted to our comfort. Enjoyed the proximity to restaurants, movie theater, and the lake. Glad to have stayed here!

This second- story, custom built cabin in the middle of a cherry orchard has huge windows that allow for great natural light. Polished concrete countertops and floors with radiant heat. Sleeps 6. One bath. Shared hot tub. Large decks. Basic kitchen. Please read this listing completely.
Up north at its best! The Treehouse sits on a pond among the birch and pines in a working cherry orchard. Built by my husband and me, with a whole lot of help from many friends, it clearly has love in the details. Large windows bring the daylight in and allow for dreamy star- gazing - maybe even the northern lights! Six person outdoor hot tub is shared with the cabin also on property. Locally made art. Big garden. Access to trails for hiking, groomed cross- country ski trails, and mountain biking all around the orchard and ponds. Minutes to Lake Michigan and Torch Lake beaches. The cabin makes a great getaway for couples and families. There is a sleeping loft which can sleep four and a private bedroom which sleeps two. Limited kitchen has a smart oven, countertop two burner range, microwave, sink, coffee maker, electric frying pan and refrigerator. The Treehouse can be rented in conjunction with The Cabin at Rocky Top Farms. Towels and linens are provided. You must have four- wheel drive to access the Treehouse in the winter, or plan to hike the 1/4 mile from the barn. If you have to be towed out, the cost is between $50- $100. Please note! This is a cabin and not a traditional treehouse! We don't mean to mislead with the name- The Treehouse is what we have always called it. *Please read this listing entirely!
We adore our very rural neighborhood! Just a couple miles from both Torch Lake and Lake Michigan-beaches abound! Ask us about our favorite spots. Hiking and paddling opportunities are plentiful. We are not far from XC, downhill skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Rocky Top Farms is centrally located between Traverse City and Petoskey. We are located just off 31N. Our nearest towns are Elk Rapids, Bellaire, and Charlevoix, and East Jordan. The closest villages are Torch Lake, Ellsworth, and Central Lake. There are so many things to check out while visiting- or- just laze around the farm!
  • The house was very clean, charming and artistic. We never met our host.

    Matthew2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi made sure the cabin was unlocked and well prepared for our visit. There was a free jar of cherry butter to welcome us! The cabin was clean and well maintained!

    Kathryn2014-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a cute and cozy place! We loved staying here! The only thing we enjoyed more than cozying up inside was wandering through the cherry orchards and the wild flowers with our pup. First time I've looked forward to sunrise! The cherry butter was delicious- a lovely detail. Would like to return...

    Marc2015-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible 2 days at the Tree house. My whole family absolutely loved it. That's not easy when you have kids ages 14 to 4! The place was cleaner than any hotel I had ever visited. Heidi took care of everything and was just a phone call away. It poured the whole weekend, but it didn't put a damper on our experience. We can't wait to come back!

    Carol2015-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I were looking for a secluded spot for a last-minute jaunt up north, and the Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms was exactly what we hoped it would be. It's a one-of-a-kind spot. The pictures and ad do a good job explaining the property, but can't capture the charm and warmth of the place. It felt like it was our own place from the moment we arrived, and we lamented the fact that we only booked a two-night stay. This was my first experience with Airbnb, but I can't imagine a better host than Heidi. She was out of town that weekend and was not able to welcome us personally, but she was very attentive via text message the entire weekend. When we arrived, I found out that the gas grill was out of propane. I sent her a text to let her know and her husband replaced the tank in less than an hour. She checked in a couple other times throughout the weekend, but was never intrusive in the least. You can tell the Treehouse means a lot to her and her family, and she does a great job to make sure her guests feel the same way. We'll be back!

    Don2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • After a lovely stay at the neighboring cabin last year, my partner and I (+ our dog) decided to try out the Treehouse for our last minute long weekend getaway... and we're very glad we did! Like our last airbnb experience with Heidi, everything was impeccably clean, Heidi gave us all the information we needed, and check in/out was very easy. It was so great being able to bring our dog with us, and we were very glad for the hand written notes and recommendations we found inside to help us find a dog-friendly beach, plus some restaurants in Charlevoix. We'll definitely be back!

    Mara2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time, can't wait to come back! The little touches in the cabin were perfect, I felt so relaxed and didn't want to leave! Next time I'll bring the kids because it's really set up to accommodate a family.

Beautiful land, rustic, comfortable home, quiet & private! Take a hot tub at sunset looking out over property, cook in our great kitchen; have a campfire at night. Oh yeah, really nice bedrooms w/sliding glass doors. Listen to the wind thru pines.
Our four-season dwelling is on 4 acres of gardens, pines, and ponds. One small Japanese pond, and a really big pond out back which goes up and down with the river. That's the Galien River which is at the west end of the property. A very comfortable hot tub (2 seater and great jets!) is just outside one of the bedrooms on the porch with a lovely view of the land. It feels like more than 4 acres because there are blueberry fields all around and you can't see or hear any of the neighbors. We have 40 mature organic blueberry bushes ourselves which are free for the picking from July-Sept. There is a pet fee of $20/night. The home has 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a Queen size bed and a small sofa bed. The other bedroom has a trundle bed with 2 twin beds that can connect or not. In the living room is a long sofa bed that folds down to become a full bed. Really comfortable. We also have two Queen size raised air beds which can be set up in the living room, in a big a 4-person tent outside in the summer, or on the porch. 2 bathrooms, one with a marble walk-in shower and the other with an old fashioned laid-back bathtub. And- a fantastic record collection of Classic Jazz and Modern Classical albums! Home has a beautiful kitchen with a big stainless steel refrigerator, great stove, lots of cooking tools and lots of space for creating great meals. Plus a few Weber BBQ's outside for grilling. All rooms have sliding glass doors looking out to the whole property. The big screen porch (14'x26') is great. We eat and even watch TV out there, which is a LEDHD TV. (Streaming available) - Or play the piano? The house is all wireless, ceiling fans in all the rooms and on porch, and air conditioning/central heat. Great for a romantic and peaceful getaway, a small wedding, honeymoon, family reunions or small retreat groups. Three Oaks is only 90 minutes from Chicago in beautiful Harbor Country, with sparkling beaches, art galleries, great restaurants, dunes and hiking trails. Sometimes we love the winter even more than the summer out here...with the cozy fireplace and tons of firewood at your disposal- or use the fire pit and have a campfire outside. You can even cross-country ski right out back and down the little slope to the river! You will not want to leave when you're here. No one does.
Since I've been here for almost 30 years, I know all my neighbors and we're all good friends. I've always felt very safe in this neighborhood. Everyone looks out for each other. (It's a good way to live.)
  • Donna has created a special, enchanted place. My friends and I spent hours in front of the fire when we weren't cooking feasts in the spacious kitchen or enjoying the snowfall from the hot tub. We also loved the cross country ski paths about 30 minutes away. Donna was a gracious, thoughtful host. Can't wait to get back and see it in summer!

    Sara2014-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Donna is lovely host. Very responsive, very respectful of our privacy and place was prepared perfectly for our stay. Her kitchen was a great place to cook and enjoy a meal alongside a warm fireplace. Her home is wonderful idyllic setting. Extremely quiet and peaceful in the hot tub. Wonderful winter getaway...looking forward to seeing the lovely surroundings in the spring, summer, or fall. Highly recommended!!

    Ed2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we have stayed at Donna's beautiful property. Every nook and cranny at Donna's is cozy and delightful. Her house has such personality and charm. The hot tub is an added bonus to a place that exudes relaxation and peacefulness. Donna is always easy to reach, responds immediately, and was flexible to meet our needs. A great host and a great property! We will be back again!

    Jessica2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had the most wonderful time at Donna's home. We felt completely at home, and the property in the fall is gorgeous. There is plenty to do other than relax with all the wineries and breweries just a short drive away. We definitely want to return in the summer so we can explore more of this great corner of Michigan.

    Joseph2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Donna Blue is the most incredible host/woman. I cannot recommend her and her home enough. We were 8 people (4 couples) there over the weekend just looking to get out of town and relax. There was plenty of room in her cozy home. Every last minute detail of her house is adorable. Such good vibes and she made us feel so welcome. It was so quaint and her kitchen is great for cooking too. Her land is very special and I cannot wait to come back. Thank you Donna Blue!!

    Sylvie2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful - even better than the pictures! Donna was very communicative and made us feel very welcome. I would love to stay here again if I'm ever in the area.

  • We enjoyed our 4 day stay at Donna's immensely! Her home is charming in every way. We especially enjoyed the outdoor areas. Donna was happy to let us use her charcoal grill as well as charcoal and lighter fluid. We had a lovely cookout and ate dinner outside on the picnic table. We felt like we were camping, but then had a beautiful home to sleep and shower in! The kitchen had everything needed for cooking and eating. Donna was always just a text message away with any questions or needs. She responded quickly and helpfully. We also had the pleasure of meeting her and visiting with her. She was able to provide a wonderful balance of being there when we needed her, but leaving us alone to enjoy our vacation. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely want to stay at Donna's again!

  • We absolutely loved staying at Donna's beautiful Blueberry Fields. It was the perfect relaxing Bachelorette weekend. The property surrounded the home is gorgeous and the hot tub is delightful! There are many unique art pieces inside the home, and it seemed like we noticed something new each time we entered! A lovely place to unwind, unplug and enjoy the company of whoever you happen to be travelling with. Donna was a delight to meet. We were looking for a cab service for the evening, and it took her no time at all to help us find the information we needed. Overall I would absolutely stay here again! Thanks for everything, Donna :)

Charming loft space in quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown shopping and dining. Close to beaches, ski resorts and cultural attractions. Over detached garage--very private--come and go as you please. Perfect for couple or (very) small family.
Very clean. Simply and tastefully furnished. Plenty of natural light, wood flooring. One bedroom with queen-size bed. Sofa (not a pull-out) in the sitting room can provide extra sleep space. No kitchen, but space is furnished with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. Flat-screen TV. Cable and wifi access. Please note the Loft is above our detached garage and is accessed via two short flights of stairs.
Please visit the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce website for more information on the area.
  • Andrea and the loft were perfect! First of all, Andrea was great with communication and even allowed us to check in a little early. The loft was welcoming from the moment we walked in, nice breeze through the windows, very clean, and the decor was warm and calming. The walk to town was only about 10 min. so that was also a plus! The neighborhood is quiet and friendly as well. We enjoyed the small touches such as: a mini frige, kurig, umbrellas, ironing board, etc. We will def return!!

    Amy2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here while attending a wedding at Bay Harbor - we couldn't have made a better choice! The loft is extremely clean and well maintained. We would absolutely stay here again!

    Mike2015-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea was great. We arrived on a rather hot August day, she already had the AC going in the loft so that it was at a comfortable temperature during the walk through. The loft is located a couple of blocks from downtown for an easy walk to shop, dine or grab an espresso at Drip.

    Christopher2015-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend. Clean and comfortable, great location and communication. Andrea's loft is well-appointed and allowed us to enjoy lazy mornings and quiet evenings in between sightseeing. Petoskey is one of our favorite Michigan cities and we hope to come back to stay at the cozy loft! Book early!

    Lisa2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute, clean, and welcoming. It's a great use of small space and doesn't feel small at all. The living room is comfortable and stocked with plenty of movies, games, books, etc. I like staying in places that are a bit secluded from the main house but still have people close by in case we need anything, so this guesthouse was great for us. Very close to the main plaza in Petoskey.

    Shayela2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so cozy and so comfy! We had a few drinks around town(walking distance) and a great nights sleep for the first night of our honeymoon!!

    Lauren2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were very happy to have found Andrea's loft on Airbnb! Great location for a ski weekend, and very close to downtown shops and restaurants. I'm sure this would be a great spot in the summer as well!

    Mike2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • There is no other word to describe our stay in Andrea's loft, but just PERFECT. You'll find there everything you could hope for. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Welcome to Esther House. We took a 1930's catalog vacation cabin and turned it into an inviting 2 bedroom retreat home. We are steps to the Spring Lake Beach and Village, bike paths, a 2.5 mile bike or car ride to the beaches of Grand Haven.
This charming, fully rehabbed 2 bedroom home makes for the perfect getaway, and the best alternative to a Hotel/Motel in the area. Although the footprint of Esther house is small, we offer 1100 sq ft of comfort over the basement, main level and lofted bedroom, designed with easy and comfortable living in mind. A fully stocked custom kitchen with high-end appliances, granite breakfast bar and an open plan to the cozy living/dining room. Small dinette table seats four. The living room has a comfortable sofa, reading chair and 42" TV. No cable, but its hooked up to stream all your favorites. In the basement we have a brand new bedroom with a queen sized bed, nightstands and dresser. A separate utility area with washer/dryer. Nice and quite fenced back yard with a cement patio.
The home is located in historic Strawberry Pointe area of Spring Lake, Michigan. The area is littered with these small cabins that once served as hunting and fishing vacation homes in the 30's, 40's and 50's. We are walking distance to the Spring Lake public beach, the expansive bike trails of the area and to the Village Baker (a must visit for great baked goods, fantastic brunch and dinners, as well as a great cup of coffee!!)
  • Loved our visit here! Darling and very clean cottage. Would definitely recommend.

  • Super cute place. Was close to the small beach at Spring Lake. We rented bikes in Grand Haven and rode them back to our house since it was right off the bike path. Was a super great ride and cool experience, even with a 1.5 year old!

    Laura2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Esther House was just what we needed. Quaint, quiet and yet with all of the necessities. We were looking for a place to call "home" for a few days and this Spring Lake house was perfect. We didn't want to leave! We will not only consider this property again, but also others Frederick offers. No surprises. He has done an outstanding job updating Esther House. Enjoy!

Heart of Downtown TC on Union Street at the corner of Union and State! This Rustic Modern Loft is located just behind front street, only a block from the beach and everything that downtown Traverse City has to offer. Restaurants, festivals, coffee shops, movie theaters, you name it.
This iconic 130 year old building was once home to a printing press. Its towering brick walls stand 12 feet tall and were hand made using clay that is unmistakable to our area, from the waters of Cedar Lake just west of Downtown. The tasteful renovation included the restoration of the original old growth maple floors throughout, plus the repurposing of historic doors, windows, fixtures, and local barn wood beams and boards, as well as many custom pieces from local artisans.
This block is in the heart of downtown, set less than a block behind Front Street on Union. Multiple restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and all sorts of retail are within just a few steps out the door.
  • This loft is in an ideal Traverse City location! I'd recommend it to anybody!

  • This was our fourth time at Sean's wonderful home and we enjoyed every minute. We brought our family for a few days and the house easily accommodated 5 adults and 4 kids. We all loved our stay at the farmhouse and we can't wait to be back! Thanks a lot Sean for sharing your home with us, our summers there are magic!

    Claudia2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sean's home, during a couple of days off from the university. In renovating this beautiful home, he's taken care of every detail, all the way down to the studs. For me, the symmetry, solidity and clean lines all over the house were incredibly calming as well as beautiful. The place is situated perfectly in a little curve of land that is both protected and spacious, and shaded in places by gorgeous old trees. Working with Sean was easy and arrival/departure a seamless process. I would love to stay here again.

    Angela2014-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sean's communication was fantastic and the home is truly as beautiful in person as it is in the photos. This is a magical place where you can lose track of days and feel like you're staying at a farm in northern California instead of Michigan. Use the sauna! It's amazing!

    Brian & Melissa2015-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay with lots to do inside and outside. The house was very clean when we checked in and had everything we needed to feel comfortable.

    Tiago2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sean was helpful and patient during the entire process of setting up our Airbnb account and attentive to questions we had during our stay. The Farmhouse was accurately depicted and is in a quiet country setting but close enough to nearby restaurants and small towns.....very relaxing but convenient. We found everything we needed to cook meals. Everything was clean....a top notch, quality house.

    Mike2016-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a return trip to the farmhouse, and I cannot day enough good things about it. Designed perfectly for a secluded weekend away with a group, but close enough to go into town to enjoy all the things the area has to offer. The only downside when staying here is having to leave - it’s a literal dream house! Thanks again for the great getaway!

    Meaghan2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying in Sean's amazing farmhouse. I was the only one in my group of 6 who has been there previously and they were all as charmed as I knew they would be. It was just as great as my first experience and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and recommend it to anyone heading to the area.

    Shannon2014-06-20T00:00:00Z

  • The lake house was amazing and perfect for the occasion. We loved that each room had a bathroom attached, as well as enough space for everyone to feel comfortable and not cramped. The place had awesome views with great amenities. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Saint Clair Shores area!

    Katie2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This home has everything you need for a truly wonderful stay! We rented this home for a little over a week to celebrate my goddaughter's wedding. 6 adults and 2 kids stayed comfortably with extra beds and sleeping areas to spare! The en suite baths are ideal and the tankless hot water heater meant no shortage of hot water for our large group of guests! The open floor plan was perfect for our large family gatherings and the kitchen was to die for! We even held the rehearsal dinner for 40+ people and had plenty of room to enjoy. The lake was calm and we had fun taking our 7-year old son out on rafts to enjoy the water. A family of swans even stopped by to visit daily! Jim was an excellent host and communicated regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!!

    Michelle2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property with beautiful views! Jim is great at responding promptly to any questions, recommendations etc. Kitchen was amazing to cook in. We especially loved the stove! Each room having its own full bath is a huge plus! Overall great stay!

    Courteney2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beatiful home right on the water with a great outdoor living area. Only negative was the proximity to the highway. The traffic noise is quite noticeable throughout the home and pretty loud in the bedroom with a window facing it.

    Chris2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spectacular place to host a group or family! Loved that each bedroom upstairs had its own ensuite bathrooms. Host was quick to answer any questions we had to make our stay comfortable & easy

    Ryan2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home with wide open spaces for gathering and entertaining. Views of the bay, sunrise and sunset are spectacular. Although our visit was in late fall, there is a fabulous deck for outdoor gatherings in warmer weather. Our host was quick to respond to inquiries and to accommodate special requests. Note: there are no main floor bedrooms, if stairs are an issue.

  • Great experience. Very nice, relaxing location along the Lake. John was accommodating, and patient with questions. I loved that he is willing to do a one night rental if available. That is what fit in our schedule, and we were able to get a lot of enjoyment out of our short stay.

  • This is an amazing home right on the water! John is a kind an gracious host. The place is very clean, with super comfy bed, luxurious bedding and towels, and all the amenities of home! Loved the walk to the beach! - John

    John2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • John was an excellent host and his "Coach House" was the perfect space for my wife and I to get away for the weekend and enjoy the beach. His house had everything we needed and the view of Lake Michigan from the little porch was awesome! We didn't try out the hot tub (because we got sunburned) but his backyard was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the lake. Thanks again for having us John...maybe we'll even bring our kids with us next time? :)

    Jason2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very responsive to questions. Clean and neat. Easy check in and check out. Awesome local recommendations

    Derek2018-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at John's place and enjoying all the attractions of the area; the quiet neighborhood, the view and sound of Lake Michigan, the hot tub sunset, the hiking trails on the dunes, the restaurants, and the wine/cider tastings. John was very personable when we met but not at all intrusive and we felt comfortable as guests on his property. I would highly recommend this listing to anyone contemplating a stay.

    Dave2018-12-09T00:00:00Z

  • Wow! This place blows the city's other Airbnbs out of the water. The perfect location - easily walkable to all the stadiums and theaters Downtown and just as close to Midtown and Eastern Market. I'm 55 years young and my wife 39 (& holding!) and yet we had no problem climbing the ladder to the sleeping loft. The attention to detail is amazing and that deck! I'm going to miss waking up to that beautiful downtown skyline view! We can't wait to come back for a stay during the summer! We would highly recommend this space for anything that might bring you to Detroit!

  • This was our second time staying in this lovely loft. Just a total gem of a place. Communications were quick, helpful, and so friendly. The loft is extremely clean, well furnished, and comfortable. Everything's there one could possibly need for a great stay - including great coffee and snacks. Will be looking forward to our third stay, hopefully soon!

    Gwyn2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Small space with an amazing balcony. Older guests with mobility problems should stay away. Larger people may also have issues with the sleeping arrangements.

    Tom2018-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Literally everything about it is not only beautifully curated, but comfortable and warm. The roof deck is incredible, even though we didn't get to use it (rain, sleet), recommendations for local restaurants (gray goose! new order!) far exceeded expectations and made it worth vernturing out even though we really just wanted to stay in and enjoy our sadly brief time in this terrific place. Many thanks for sharing this very, very special location--don't miss it if you're anywhere near detroit!

    Julie2018-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • This loft was perfect for a night out in Detroit. The loft is very well decorated and contains a lot of items from Detroit. It was extremely clean and well laid out. The rooftop deck had amazing views and was perfect for sitting outside with friends. Lots of street parking. The host had great communication and quick responses. We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to booking again!

The perfect home for a laid back group of friends, couples or a family to stay with all the comforts of being at home. In the morning, grab treats from the neighborhood bakery, Common Good, and plan your day exploring hiking trails, beaches, craft breweries and world-class wineries. Grab bikes and ride the 1.3 miles to Downtown Traverse City and West Bay to enjoy everything that is great about Northern Michigan: shops, views, dining, drinks, and more!
My home is your home for your stay. Your space includes 3 quaintly decorated bedrooms with empty closets for storage and plenty of space to settle in for your stay. The kicthen, dining room and living room have been recently updated and include all the essentials from home plus lots of unique details from my travels. The lower unit gym includes a new treadmill, free weights, bench and space for yoga.
Our neighborhood is called, "SoFo" because it is the area in town Traverse City south of 14th Street. Located at the edge of a quiet residential area with a grocery store, ice cream shop, whiskey tasting room, brewery, bagel shop, party store and some simple take out places: sushi, pizza, Chinese and sandwiches. We're only 4 blocks to Old Town and 1 miles to Downtown Traverse City.
  • Really adorable space near downtown. Not close enough for us to walk in the evening but a very cheap cab ride. We really only just slept here but I would for sure come back and stay again or bring a bigger group as it accommodates a lot of people. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

    H2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The four of us had a delightful time in Traverse City - great weekend destination! Our stay at Marta and Jimmy's was so perfect. Quiet neighborhood and not far from downtown TC. Their home was a perfect place - quaint, modern and lovely! They were completely available for questions and stayed in contact throughout our visit, before and at the end. We enjoyed meeting them - great couple! We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

    Faith2013-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying at Marta's place! It was a nice, clean, organized house! We loved the decor inside, it was very cute! It was in a great location, close to downtown Traverse City and in a safe neighborhood. We would love to stay here again if our travels take us back to Traverse City!

    Claire2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a comfortable place in a quiet neighborhood close to bike trails and bikes included in the garage! The place does not have "curb appeal" but was nicely decorated inside with new appliances. Host was very responsive.

  • We had a great stay at Marta’s place! She was so kind and quick to respond. Check-in was very convenient :) Would definitely recommend her place.

  • This place was great! Very close to downtown, just a quick drive! Beautiful house and the place has everything! She was just a text away when we had a question! Overall, planning my next trip already!

  • If you have a dog and want a beautiful modern place to stay. Check out Marta's place. We loved her comfy beds, plush towels, fenced yard and lots of chairs outside. Marta was really kind and answered our emails quickly. I appreciated that as we decided at the last minute that we wanted to extend our trip. I will be back again with other family and friends

    Charlene2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Marta's! Her place is extremely comfortable and well decorated. It was a joy to see photos of her travels throughout the house. The house supplied everything we needed during our time, we even found birthday candles for a surprise birthday cake :). This cozy house is easy to find, check in/out, and is in a perfect spot to explore TC and surrounding areas. I hope we will return! Thanks Marta for such a easy and relaxing stay!

This private studio suite acquires the best area of our 100+ year old house. A modified parlor and sunroom with traditional glass windows overlook historic Heritage Hill. Minutes from downtown, you'll be able to experience the best of Grand Rapids!
Our private studio suite is located within what we jokingly call the "East Wing" of our 100+ year old home. It has its own front door and is locked off from the rest of the house, so you'll be able to rest at ease knowing that you won't be sharing with others. Traditional glass windows wrap around the sunroom, creating a perfect place to drink coffee in the morning and sit on the couch while the sun sets. The suite offers a full kitchen and bathroom with a queen size bed.
Our neighborhood is part of the historical Heritage Hill district of Grand Rapids. Home owners in this area go to great lengths to keep up to code to preserve the aesthetics of this old neighborhood. A half block away is the Meyer May House designed by Frank Llyod Wright and is considered Michigan's Prairie masterpiece.
  • Quiet and peaceful and good location

  • Great place, awesome location

    Jacob2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cody and his SO were lovely hosts. Their place is located in the perfect historic neighborhood, close to amazing breweries and eateries. The entry was private and coded, leaving us to come and go as we pleased. Plenty of parking available. Kitchen well stocked, including coffee, condiments, and dishes. Plenty of linens available with the offer to wash anything needed during our stay. AppleTV, flat screen, and speedy wifi were well appreciated. Cody and co. supplied recommendations of their favorite places; all the ones we hit up were fantastic. Walking distance from plenty of awesome stuff, and quick drives/Ubers to all the other goodies GR has to offer. Two caveats: First, there doesn't seem to be central air/air unit/screens in windows that open. So if you have a health need that requires those things, you probably want to check weather before your stay. (There is a large stand fan, which was much appreciated as the weather warmed up). Second, as with many gorgeous older homes, you get some pretty squeaky/creaky/popping floors. If you're a light sleep this could bug you. I would definitely stay here again in the cooler months of the year, especially at this price point!

    Sarah2016-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy little studio was in a very convenient, residential area of Grand Rapids. We loved being close to so many great restaurants and coffee shops as well as the highway. The sunroom would be incredible in good weather but was also very cozy for drinking our morning coffee and watching the snow fall. Space is small but it was perfect for a 2-person weekend getaway. We did have an issue with it not being cleaned and ready when we arrived but once Cody got our messages he took care of it very quickly which was much appreciated! It is connected to the main house (a beautiful Heritage home) but you’ll probably hear their family and dog at times. We left the bathroom fan running and it didn’t bother us then. Overall, we had a great stay!

We live on a quiet, 150 acre, all sports lake. With only twelve houses on the lake, it's perfect when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Fishing is fantastic. We are also a 25 - 30 minute drive to Notre Dame and South Bend.
  • Justin's house was the perfect retreat, the house was very well maintained, extremely clean and had all the amenities needed for a long weekend. The views were amazing, and the access to shops, restaurants, vineyards were an added bonus. I highly recommend a stay here- we are surely coming back :)

  • This lake house is a great place to get away from it all. Beautiful home and gorgeous lake views. The living area is filled with sunlight -- patio doors and large windows with beautiful lake view. The enclosed porch in the rear of the home is a bonus. It was so peaceful. Only wish we had more time to enjoy.

  • This place is simply amazing! We had a wonderful experience all around. Great host who responded super quick anytime I had a question. The house was clean and inviting, with everything we needed for our stay (and much more!). We will definitely be back!

  • Justin was very easy to deal with and the cottage was amazing. Great location for a get away. I live in Chicago, my brother is from Fort Wayne and we had two others from Detroit....excellent meeting spot to accommodate all. The place was clean, and had everything we needed for the weekend. The best part was sitting at the top of he hill and staring at the lake. Again, Justin was very responsive during the process.

    Aaron2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great updated home with great views of the lake. A nice neighbor gave my son a rubber worm to fish with. It was a nice getaway for our family and in-laws spent kayaking and fishing and playing games indoors and out. And did I mention this house has great views?

Me, my husband, my in-laws, and my two children spent five nights at Jack’s place, and we created many great memories around his dining room table after preparing food using his state-of-the-art cooktop. Most afternoons we took a chilly walk on the path by the lake, and enjoyed the wildlife (deer and birds) that would wander into the yard throughout the day. I don’t have a lot of experience using AirBnB, and Jack has definitely set the bar very high for both timely communication and thoughtful touches and amenities in his home. If you are looking for a quiet spot conveniently located near the University of Michigan and downtown Ann Arbor Jack’s place should top your list. Thanks, Jack!” Alyssa

  • Jack was a great host and we loved staying at his gorgeous lake home. It's a short drive to the many Ann Arbor offerings, and we fell in love with the city. Most importantly, we adored Jack's house and the quiet, serene neighborhood. The lake paths are delightful and we sighted an array of birds and wildlife. We'll be back!

  • Jacks house is an amazing place to stay! My wife and I went for 4th of July weekend with 3 other friends. Jack was a welcoming host and provided more to us than any other place we have stayed. The house is very roomy and cozy at the same time. Beautiful view of the water and close enough to town to easily grab food when needed! The house was everything it was listed to be, very accurate and the lake in the morning is so amazing! Jack had juice in fridge, coffee and fruit available for us which was awesome. We will be back for sure and I highly suggest a stay here!

  • Beautiful location away from the downtown but not really too far. Lovely home with views of the small lake outside a fantastic great room/dining and open kitchen. Linens and beds are clean, fresh and new.

  • We communicated with Jack beforehand as we were coming from overseas. He made sure the stay was wonderful and went out of his way to buy gluten free products for me as I have celiac disease and asked where I could pick up some groceries. The house was great, right on the lake and the boys really enjoyed seeing the swans, cardinals, blue jays, deer, etc up close. Jack came back (on his own) midway through our stay to refill the bird feeder as he saw how much the boys enjoyed it and knew it would be empty after a few days.

It can also be a bit noisy if windows are open and no fans or ac running.
  • We were in the area for a wedding and stayed at Sally's place. It was perfect! She was very flexible with check-in, and readily available to answer all of our questions. The cottage is very cozy and comfy. The outdoor patio is private and lovely. Unfortunately, due to the weather and our busy schedule, we were not able to enjoy the bonfire or hot tub this time. We would definitely recommend!

  • Great value, great access to river (with free use of kayaks!), and cozy setting with hot tub, etc. Easy communication, Sally was very helpful in providing suggestions for the area!

    Doug2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was very kind, and ready to help us with any questions or concerns we might have. We really enjoyed our stay in Boyne City, and the convenience of being close to town. She was always near her phone and responded to texts and messages very quickly. The cottage was very clean and tidy, and the gas fireplace was lit and ready for us when we got in. We didn't get a chance to meet Sally (this was our honeymoon and we just wanted some alone time, which Sally was very respectful of), but through our messaging I found her to be very friendly and a great host. The cottage is very close to a gas station and a few restaurants, and just a few minutes drive away from a grocery store, a hiking trail, and downtown shopping (depending the direction you drive). Overall we really enjoyed our stay! The only complaint that we had was the sound from cars driving by on the road down the hill made it a little hard for me to sleep. A few earplugs and this would not have been a concern at all ( I am a very light sleeper, and have to wear earplugs most nights to fall asleep, even at home. I only mention this in case other interested parties are light sleepers like me).

    Nicole2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Sally’s! It was so close to where we were skiing.

  • This was a great place for people who are looking to ski at Boyne Mountain. We had several International students who had never skied before and it was the perfect place for them to stay close to the mountain and then relax in the hot tub afterwards

Kingfisher Cove is a great place to make home base for your visit to Saugatuck/Douglas or Western Michigan. It's part of a group of amazing cabins with both an outdoor pool and non-motorized lake access. The home will allow you to enjoy a unique cedar cabin in the woods, but at the same time you'll have all modern amenities plus a few luxuries to ensure you have a great stay. The space is very open and makes for a comfortable space for up to 10 guests. The location is also perfect - situated between the lake and the pool, and the neighborhood is both near the highway and not far from downtown Saugatuck, but far enough away from both to feel like you are getting away. You won't be disappointed in the location or amenities offered with this property.
  • Our experience at the cabin was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked and it made cooking very convenient. The house had plenty of towels and linens, which was perfect for our large group. The cabin is in a peaceful, quiet community. Overall, our experience was great!

    Erin2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place for a family vacation. Enough space for 6 adults and 3 kids. Fishing at the local lake was nice too. Eric was quickly responsive to any questions we had. I would definitely try and book this cabin with Eric in the future.

    David2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Eric's cabin was perfect for my best friend's bachelorette party! The cabin was amazing - well decorated, clean, stocked with everything you might need. It felt secluded - like it was in it's own little cabin community in the woods - but it was just a short drive from downtown Saugatuck. We were also able to get to the Fennville Winery very easily - just a quick drive. If I come back to Saugatuck I would check this place's availability first for sure - we had an amazing time!

    Rachael2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing! Very comfortable and clean. Right by the pool and lake access a couple houses down. Eric paid attention to all the details and is so nice. He left us great snacks, the beds have soft linens, and the towels are plush and clean. We loved that pets weren't allowed so there were no weird smells and we didn't wear shoes in the house- it's that clean. The screened in porch is so relaxing with candles and nice furniture. Kingfisher Cove is right down the street from downtown Saugatuck too, so the location is perfect. My whole family loved it and we will be back!

  • Eric was prompt and courteous! The house was amazing and very well stocked. There was every type of cooking utensil you could want and more than enough towels and blankets. The place is well located, just a short drive to town and the supermarket. Highly highly recommend this place!

  • Eric was an excellent host. He was easy to communicate with and beat me to the punch each time. He was available and prompt. The place was awesome. It was plush with high quality supplies and decor. It is the best stocked place we have ever stayed in. There are two bikes available. Every kitchen utensil and dish you could possibly need was there. The blankets were abundant and luxurious. There is a nice electric fireplace. It was extremely quiet inside. It is a little over a mile from Saugituck and from the Saugituck Dunes State Park. You can hear the highway easily from the outside. It is in a development with many identical homes. We didn't see that as a negative point. Very comfortable, warm and cozy.

  • Eric was an excellent host. He gave us all the information needed to have a great stay. The cabin is comfy cozy gorgeous. It had everything we needed to accommodate our 6 person girls weekend getaway. We took multiple walks through the nice neighborhood, shopped and ate in town. Check in and check out was a breeze because of keyless entry. We plan on coming back again next year.

Marta's Sofo House was the perfect lodging option for our stay in Traverse City. We explored the city over a span of three days and were excited to retreat back to our Airbnb each night. The space was warm and inviting and the beds were so very comfortable. The location was ideal for our purposes and Marta gave great recommendations for the area. Marta was a stellar host who maintained great communication and accommodations. A great space for an even greater value. Do not miss out on this experience. Highly recommended!!

Jeffrey was a fantastic host. Our drive up to Traverse City took much longer than we had anticipated, and we were so relieved to finally arrive at the Gristmill Apartment. The apartment is quite cute and the grounds are lovely. It was the perfect home base for our trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes and the vineyards on Old Mission peninsula. We would definitely stay again and recommend to a friend!

At the end of our long drive, Kristi was waiting for us to show us around. The house was in impeccable shape and she had everything ready for us to use. I am a runner and was thrilled that her house was very close to the TART trail that run behinds 31! We had a great two night stay and found that the house was an excellent location for everything we wanted to do. Kristi also left a list of recommended spots which was very helpful. Overall, it was another great Air B and B experience. We will absolutely be back next time we are traveling up north! Highly recommended!
