Just booked in Ollantaytambo

when you get to Ollantaytambo first you imagine it is, be within the story. Walking through these narrow streets , all built with stones and have next to water channels , which were built in the Inca era. CHASKA WASI is within the APU Pinkulluna . opposite the hostel we can see the tree Pisonay with more than 160 years old. There are also hikes of 1, 2, 4 and 6 hours. quarries, Inca bridge, Intipunku , Pumamarka and native communities ( Willoc , Yanamayo Patacancha ) ollantaytambo enjoy !!!
  • Katty is a very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

  • Chaska Wasi it truely a magical place. We ended up spending two nights there instead of one.. and I wish we could have stayed longer! Katty was the best host we had in Peru. She was so welcoming and kind to everyone who was staying there. We arrived early and she took the time to makes us feel at home with some hot coca tea. We little kitties are adorable and cuddly. Our room was immaculate and even better than i imagined. The view was breath taking and the bed was super comfortable and warm with was amazing on 40 degree mornings. Katty also helped us a great deal arranging taxis and trains and making sure we got to see as much as we could with only 3 days in the mountains. Thank you again for everything Katty! Hope to stay again someday .. longer ! Jamie and Kelby

  • I managed to book at Katty one week before departure. She's an absolute sweetheart and helpful host. She agreed to store our luggage as we spent one night at Machu Picchu base and even helped us in getting a private driver for the trip to Cusco. Just a note - while her place is very walkable to the main square the road is not very friendly for wheeled luggages so I suggest you take a taxi or some sort to make your way to her place. The only thing I feel could be improved is it gets cold at night and without heating you might have to layer up to go to bed. Also, there was lack of toiletries (only given a bar of soap) and the bed sheets were dusty. All in all, could have been a little gem with just some tweaks.

  • I spent a week with my girlfriend traveling through the Sacred Valley. Katty's place was where we stayed on our final night after hiking Machu Picchu, and the stone house on the hill was a picturesque way to finish our trip. Katty was helpful from our arrival (in the evening) to our departure (helping us find a car at a much more reasonable price), and knows a lot about the Cusco region. One of the best aspects of the place is that it is removed from street so there is little noise, which is something many places throughout the Sacred Valley do not offer. Absolutely good value, and more complete service than most AirBnBs. Muchas gracias Katty!

  • Katty was one of the best hosts we have stayed with and our stay with her was uniquely enjoyable. She is well connected with the community and invited us to a community celebration during the Choquekillka festival. She also introduced us to a knowledgable guide who took us to the nearby Inca ruins. The view from the room where we stayed in was amazing! We would love to visit Chaska Wasi when we visit Peru again. Katty, thank you for everything!

  • My husband and I, enjoyed our stay at Katty´s place very much. The house and room were as advertised : beautifully decorated, super comfortable king size bed, quality linens, and pillows, hot shower and reliable wifi. We rested well and woke up to some great views of the mountains. Katty was really friendly and we had a nice chat with her during breakfast. Chaska Wasi is located at a short walking distance from the main square and historic sites. We would definitely stay there again.

  • Katty is an amazing host. She is very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and has a network of close friends of hers that she could refer you to for a great deal on travel and tours. She also has great recommendations. The location is near the main square so it made it very easy to immediately see the town once we dropped our bags. The room was exactly how it was on the pictures. Very scenic with gorgeous views in and out of the room. I stood outside, stargazing for hours when I stood there. It was great waking up to the sun and an amazing view. The only negative thing I could think of is that it is a stone house, so it was a tad cold in the morning. Also, no curtains. So if you like your privacy, that might be something to consider... but the room is up on the second floor, so there weren't any neighbors that could peak in.

Our beautiful house is located in a quite original Inca neighborhood from where you can enjoy the view of Ollantaytambo site. Your room is cozy, warm and has a queen sized bed, suitable for one person or a couple. We share our garden & kitchen.
  • Gabriela was an wonderful host; warm, kind and welcoming with a great cup of tea. We stayed one night and really wish we were staying longer. The room was exactly the same as listed and the bed was quite comfortable. We couldn't of asked for a better stop over on our way to Machu Picchu. Thanks, Gabriela!

  • Loved our stay here. Gabriela made us feel like family. Comfy bed, hot shower water, drinking water, wifi and a washing machine. The town is a bit noisy but nothing that can't be solved with some ear plugs. We had an amazing meal at Inka's Tower. Great food and great views!

  • Gabriela was a charming, beautiful host. Her home is incredibly comforting and cozy. She speaks excellent English, so we had a great time chatting. Her home is absolutely amazing; both inside and out. Amazing views, quiet and relaxing, and wonderfully soft blankets to bundle up in. Would absolutely love to visit Gabriela again, and am always honored to meet genuine, warm souls while traveling!

  • Gabriela and Nilton were wonderful host and their room was excellent. They were very hospitable. Nilton is a tour guide so he can give you tips on where to go, see, and eat. I was glad that I canceled my reservation to the Apu lodge (which was right next door). Thanks guys!

:) No doubt about it, you'll be like home! Go for it! Thanks a bunch for the moments!

This room has high vaulted ceilings with sky lights for a bright airy feel and a window with a view of the Temple of the Condor. It has a wonderful “Wow made” Kapuli frame bunk bed with top quality mattresses and wool blankets for warmth and natural comfort. This room uses shared bath which has gas-fed 24 hour hot water Location Information: Once considered an afternoon stop-over on the way to MachuPicchu, more and more visitors are deciding to make Ollantaytambo the primary destination from whence they can experience the Sacred Valley and all it has to offer. In contrast to Cuzco, the small village atmosphere, lower altitude and easy access to incredible hikes has prompted many of our guests to feel more comfortable here and thus extend their stay. Ollantaytambo is called “the last living Inka village” as it has been continuously inhabited since the 13th century. It was the town for the Inkan Nobility and High Priests and once you are here it is hard not to notice the magic. So come walk the streets of gigantic jigsaw stonework or try some chichi (Inka Beer- fermented corn) with the indigenous people who are the direct descendents of the Inkas. Let us introduce you to some of these wonderful local people who can guide you into their world, provide cultural connection within traditional communities where tourist seldom venture and lead you on stunning treks through the natural wonder.
  • Casa de Wow provided a very authentic Ollantaytambo experience. Despite of Roberto's limited English speaking skills and our limited Spanish speaking skills, the checking in process was short and easy. We were quickly provided with mate de coca (tea), and were given a tour of the casa. The bedroom was very comfortable and with lots of character. Great views of ancient ruins from our window. We were pleasantly surprised by the availability of very hot showers. The casa had kitchen access at all reasonable times and laundry services for a few soles. Breakfast was great, with fresh bread, eggs and local honey. Roberto provided us with a very early breakfast when we had to catch a 5am train. There is a reliable water filter in the kitchen which helped us cut down on bottled water purchase. As far as location of the casa, it couldn't be better. It is very close to town center, train station, food and markets. The casa team was wonderful and really made our stay memorable. We stayed there for 4 days as we explored the valley. I wholeheartedly recommend Casa de Wow! Aditya and Andrew

  • Our stay was SO nice. I was feeling pretty ill at the time I arrived, but our hosts gave us water and made sure that if we needed anything, they were there to help. We even got bagged lunches for breakfast on a day of early adventure.

  • Carlo and Lucy are wonderful hosts in their beautiful, unique accommodation. As hosts they were extremely warm and friendly- and went beyond the expected to help us with our time in Ollantaytambo. The home cooked meal we enjoyed there was as good as any restaurant, the rooms are comfortable and artfully decorated. My partner and I went with our mothers and loved our stay- we highly recommend a visit here at Janaxpacha.

  • Good place to stay, with a simple breakfast. The beds were comfortable, hot water in the shower, it's clean. Wifi doesn't really work in the room however, the walls are too thick (it worked a little on the computer but not with the cellphone).

  • Carlo and Lucy are very nice, they give us a lot of help and advice on traveling. Carlo cooked delicious dinner for us.

  • Lucy and Carlos were fantastic! They organized a taxi for us from Cusco to Ollantataymbo, met us upon arrival and gave us tips for the town. The hostel is located about a 5-minute walk from the main square and takes about 5 minutes to reach the nearest ruins. The room we (a family of 5) stayed in was comfortable and clean. The breakfast, made for us when we arrived to the dining room, was delicious! We regretted spending the next night in Aguas Calientes and wished that we had returned to Ollantataymbo to stay in this hostel another night!

A quaint 4 room Bed and Breakfast uses the foundations of an Inca Building to to set the tone for your stay in "The Living Inca Village''. Breath taking views of the ruins on all sides and a lovely garden are made complete with fast Wi Fi. Clean.
We are in the old town of Ollantaytambo in an Inca building. The old town is a area of town that has all original Inca buildings and streets, we are on the upper edge of town where taxis can reach our door but otherwise these streets are pedestrian only. An Inca canal flows past one of our property lines, bringing a relaxing sound of water to the place. The contrast of having great showers and internet access while being in the old town of ollantaytambo is wonderful.
It is the only living Inca city, one of the most beautiful urbanization in the Americas, and full of Peruvian culture behind every door.
  • We had a lovely stay at Eddy’s small hotel. Eddy is very helpful with giving local tips and knows how to make the perfect scrambled eggs in the morning (yum). The views from this place are incredible and staying here really captures the charm of the town.

  • This place has the best views of ruins. Victor and his friends that are the nicest people and breakfast is spectacular. We found the accommodations to be homey and cozy. The garden is a special place. They allowed us the leave our luggage while we visited Aguas Calientes. You will not regret staying here.

    Rubén2015-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place holds a piece of history and Eddy was kind to share it with me. The house sits right by the river, few minutes walk from both ruins, central plaza (restaurants, buses, taxi) and right by the river. I could see the mountains from my window. It was perfect! Eddy’s wife made me delicious breakfast in the morning and they held my bags after check out, while I explored more. Deeply appreciated hospitality!

  • Check in was super easy, as it is just a hotel. It’s labeled as a hostal, but it’s more like a hotel, as you get your own bathroom and space. It was very clean, and the front desk women were very kind. The free breakfast was incredible! I highly recommend.

  • This place is beautiful! The beds were cozy, rooms were clean, it was perfect after a day of hiking Machu Picchu. Hoowert was also very helpful in suggesting things to do and getting us a cab to our next destinations. Breakfast was also good. The showers could be a little warmer, but that would be the only thing I would change. Thanks for the great accommodations!

  • We had a great stay here! It was perfectly located between the center plaza and the ruins, with a great restaurant next door and everything you could need in Ollantaytambo close by. Hoowert was very friendly and always available to answer questions. When we first checked in he gave us a map and told us about things to do in Ollantaytambo and suggested the best times to do them. The room was clean and nice, just as pictured. We would definitely stay here again!

  • It is just perfect. i strongly recommend that house for everyone. He gave us the heater at night and prepare hot water because i was sick. Thanks. Location is also good!!

  • This place was really good! The room was comfortable and close to the Ollanta ruins and the train station. The only problem we had is that the hot water didn't always work. Apart from that, great place!

  • Ana Katia's homestay was really nice and amiable to stay in for a few days, as not many cars passed by, so it is a quiet area. The bedrooms were comfy, and we had a great view of the mountains every morning. It is well situated outside the centre of the town, and the family are friendly and very welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay in Ollantaytambo! Thank you Ana Maria, Ana Katia, Margarita and the rest of the family!

  • Perfect! It was my best experience within 3 weeks in Peru! Very loving family, super nice room and no noises, not as cold at night and not hot during day thanks to thik adobe walls. Very clean room and beds. I enjoyed healthy meals with the family every lunch for a reasonable price and went with Ana to her garden and Chacra where she grows own food and food for her animals. All family members are very kind and loving and we could talk many clever and interesting things (very different to other peruanos I met) I learnt a lot and we shared many nice moments also at the evenings in her bright and spacious dining room. All made with love, coffe and cake etc. I also could use the washing machine for a really good price. I recommend this place to everyone 100%! Lukely I speak well spanish cause only the daughter speaks english. But sure even without a lot of communication you will feel at home and you will understand all you need even if Katia is at work. She also replies to (Hidden by Airbnb) during work and wifi worked perfect sll times. Hope to may return, wished I could stay longer in this peacefull paradise and environment. 😍☀️👍🏻 A small grocery shop is just around the corner, very kind family too and reasonable prices.

  • If you are looking for an authentic Ollantaytambo stay experience then this place is for you. Friendly family and very accommodating. Walking distance to everything but yet secluded enough to come to after a long day. Water in shower was a little too cold for our liking. Overall a great experience.

  • Our stay in Ollantaytambo was amazing! We were so glad we decided to spend some more time in this town. Ana and her family were so kind and helpful and really made our experience a memorable one. They also suggested some great restaurants to check out. We would highly recommend Ana's place for accommodation when visiting Ollantaytambo! Thanks again for everything :)

  • Beautiful room in a quiet part of Ollantaytambo, clean and filled with details making it very authentic 😊 Ana Katia's sister greeted me very nicely and made sure I have everyhing I need. Thanks for your hospitability, highly recommended!

  • This place was great. The family members were amazing hosts and we had a chance to spend some time getting to know them (and their dogs and cats :)) their lifestyle, and the gardens Ana Maria works to provide food for the family. Ana Maria made us a great breakfast one day for a very modest price. The house is away from the main plaza (about a 10 minute walk) and right next to the fields - just far enough to be away from most of the other tourists but close enough to feel in the mix. The rooms are both connected to the family's home, but also disconnected - you have your own entrance. The water was warm, wifi worked well, and the beds were comfortable. Ana Maria has many amazing stories to share. This is a great option to have a more personal connection with people in the town - and very affordable. Highly recommended.

Location Information: Once considered an afternoon stop-over on the way to MachuPicchu, more and more visitors are deciding to make Ollantaytambo the primary destination from whence they can experience the Sacred Valley and all it has to offer.

  • Casa de Wow was very peaceful and comfortable. When you arrive they give you a brief tour of the room and the kitchen area. The kitchen had free filtered water, a kettle to boil tea and kitchen tools to cook. The next morning the host even made bread, set the table with jams and honey, and fresh local eggs that you were free to cook. The room itself was clean and had everything you needed for your stay. Lastly, the owner of Casa de Wow gave a beautiful rendition of the legend of Ollantaytambo on the roof. It's worth a listen.

    Alvin2017-10-24T00:00:00Z

  • Great place to stay. Very comfortable and close to everything in Ollantaytambo! Hosts were very pleasant and gave us great suggestions! Highly recommend!

    Dustin2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This B&B is the best I've ever stayed in. The owner Roberto took in our family like we were his own. Comfortable, clean, warm. Ollentambyo (sp) was the perfect place to do a day trip to Machu Picchu from. The Inn is an updated version of an Incan home. Good breakfast every morning and Roberto was always in the kitchen whipping up a yummy dish or drink. Highest recommendations for Casa De WOW!

  • Overall very good experience. Although we just got there to sleep, Roberto and his wife very nice people and place was clean and confortable! I will recomend this place and to stay in Ollantaytambo cause the town is really nice, quite and beautiful!!!

    Dina2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Due to the unfortunate timing of protests that resulted in closing roads between Ollantaytambo and Cuzco, we were not actually able to spend the night in Casa de Wow. That being said, it is a beautiful hostel in an excellent location. Most notable was how helpful Winn and her friends were in helping us arrange transportation and alternate accommodations at the last minute. The hospitality was much appreciated. I would certainly seek out Casa de Wow if I return to Ollantaytambo again!

  • The location of the property was great with a river running alongside the lodging. There were puppies and kittens and a pony that we petted. Lindsey was very helpful, especially with communication. Overall, it is a good place to stay.

    Ajit2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This property was quite difficult to find. Although in a beautiful location next to the river, it is on the outskirts of town and not alwats easy to get to

    Carla2018-03-28T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed in May. The sun came up late and went down early (due to location in canyon). Therefore, the House was cold most of the time. Hot water in shower only. Drinking water was not provided. Several dogs in yard are very friendly but barked through the night a couple nights-earplugs required! Great location for walking to town. House is very small with cramped bathrooms but it was okay for our small family of 3. Value equates to around $30/night for this place, as is, and would be good for budget travelers.

    Mark2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Humberto2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • 15 mins walk from the center of town. There premises are being shared with another family. Getting hot water was a bit tricky. The host was unreachable when attempted to get hold off for the issues.

  • We only stayed for one night before going to macchu Picchu but Irvins place is great. It has great nature feeling

    Tibor2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This home is definitely the place to stay for a few days on a trip through Peru. The scenery is breathtaking, the sound of the river, the gorgeous handmade art all over the place, the fire pit and the friendly animals are all wonderful. It's very comfortable, clean and Irvin was very accommodating and helpful. We booked a pickup in Cusco as well as two private yoga sessions through him and everything was phenomenal. It's an easy 10-15 min walk into town and taxis are always available. We absolutely loved our stay, definitely recommend staying here and for more than one night, you won't want to leave.

CHASKA WASI Te va a encantar debido a the room made of pure stones, giving the feeling of being part of the mountain !! with the typical view of two tree called PISONAY, which has over 160 years of antiguedad.desde our place we have a path that leads directly to the Pinkulluna colcas. from where you can have a nice view of the town and in front of our door you can find a hundred niches that come from the time of the Incas, Come be part of this mountain and feel their energy!!!
when you get to Ollantaytambo first you imagine it is, be within the story. Walking through these narrow streets , all built with stones and have next to water channels , which were built in the Inca era. CHASKA WASI is within the APU Pinkulluna . so we have our own entrance on the colcas . opposite the hostel we can see the tree Pisonay with more than 160 years old. There are also hikes of 1, 2, 4 and 6 hours. quarries, Inca bridge, Intipunku , Pumamarka and native communities ( Willoc , Yanamayo Patacancha ) in general can ask how to get to places. Ollantaytambo is the last living Inca town!

  • Clean, comfy room - best part was staying right next to the mountains! Katty was very welcoming and helpful.

    Lucy2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Katty was one of our favorite hosts throughout our trip! She was extremely helpful with information regarding Machu Picchu and even helped us book a taxi back to Cusco. The location itself is very peaceful and a short walk to the main square and 15 min. walk to the train station. Thank you Katty for a wonderful experience!

    Olivia2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay. My boyfriend was sick for 2 days and Katty was so nice to make him herbal tea, buy soup. She helped us arrange day tour. Highly recommend.

    Thao2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Katty's place is about a 5 minute walk from the main square where you can find delicious restaurants, great local markets, and fun shops. Katty was so gracious and helpful when it came to getting around Ollantaytambo and when it came to the property's amenities. She and her helper Miriam were extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home. We had privacy in our little stone room, which was very wonderful after our long days exploring. One of our favorite parts was her dog Whiney who is such a happy and funny puppy. We would stay here again.

    Maria2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Katty's place is wonderful, comfortable, beautiful. When my friend and I showed up late, we were greeted with kindness, and lovely recommendations. We were lucky enough to meet the sweet (and clean!) puppies that Katty was planning to find good homes for. Good luck Katty!

    Amy2017-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as advertised, a lovely room! Katty was so sweet, she arranged a day tour for us with our own driver and was so helpful. I left my jacket in the car and she was incredible and arranged for it to be delivered to me in Cusco. It's the little things that count when travelling and Katty goes the extra mile. Much recommended!

  • Highly recommended! Nice cozy room. The location couldn't be better as it's a 2-3 min walk to the main square and the streets are charming, antique, and very safe. Gina's family met me on arrival and were very helpful (the stored my luggage while I went to MP and helped me get a cheap cab on departure). PS: I don't speak Spanish so if you're in the same position, get a SIM card and use (Hidden by Airbnb) translate).

  • This was a great place to stay in old Inca dwellings in such an amazing town. Thanks Gina for being flexible as well

    Klaus2018-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable spacious room with private bathroom in a shared home. Gina and her family were very warm and welcoming. We stayed for a week to enjoy the area and the festivals and always felt welcome and at home. We briefly met other guests when we were around. Gina did her best to explain times and things we could do. We were unsure when was best to use the shared kitchen and how to dispose of rubbish but these were minor items. Gina was very helpful in attempting to resolve some transportation issues on our last day which we really appreciated. Would stay again.

    Rich2018-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed that place. Love the town of Ollantaytambo. Would have stayed longer if I knew it was so nice. A small note, it is a stone street for maybe 200 meters from the plaza to the place so if you have a heavy suit case on wheel, it is no fun. But I think it is well worth it. And Gina is very nice and hospitable.

    Alexandre2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Gina's place was awesome. Location was close to the square. The room and private area was great, with much character. Outside private garden was beautiful. My only regret was we did not stay longer.

    Robert2017-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gina is like an earth mother (a warm and welcoming host). I was aching from climbing many Incan ruins and she found me a good masseuse for 100 peruvian soles. She has a smattering of English but if you speak some Spanish, that would be helpful. Her family prepared breakfast for us every morning - toast, butter, homemade jam, coca tea and coffee. Her house is a stone and adobe house near the main square. Plenty of hot water for showers. She provided a space heater because we were chilly. We had access to the kitchen equipped with fridge, stove, etc. We slept to the sound of the gurgling "canal" of mountain spring water outside the house (the town of Ollantaytambo - a fine example of Incan urban planning with lots of stone houses, cobblestone streets has "canals" all over). The town is charming, the residents are warm and low-key and Gina works hard to answer all questions and needs and truly aims to please.

    Teresa2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gina was great. She met us in the Square and walk with us to the home. We had some difficulty with another reservation and she did all she could to help us. The language barrier was a bit of a problem luckily and my daughter called at the right time and she spoke Spanish.

Welcome to our home! You will be sharing our house (not a hotel) and live like a local! Your room has a magnificent and sweeping view of the Fortress (Fortaleza) and the mountains. The view unfurls from the windows of your room and our patio. Or, look to the left and you'll see the Pinkulluna granary ruins towering right over you. We have a great vantage point and are located right in the old original Inca part of town (on the stone street of Lares / Lari Calle) just one block from the Plaza.
Our traditional Ollanta home is split into two levels. Upstairs is your bedroom and below is the kitchen & living area, the outdoor patio, and the bathroom (accessed by walking down the stairs outside). The property has views from nearly every point. The fortress and mountains in front of you and behind and to the side of the property you can see the Pinkulluna granary ruins.
We live in the Pueblo Viejo which is the old, original Inca part of town. It is incredibly beautiful, peaceful and charming with water flowing through canals in the street. Our home is conveniently located one block from the market, one block from the combi station and one block from the plaza. We are a short 5 minute walk from the Fortress ruins and less then a minute to the entrance to the Pinkulluna granaries.
  • Steve and Duane were great hosts. They went above and beyond from the moment of the booking. They reached out and asked if i needed any taxi and guide arrangements, and answered all my questions. We arrived earlier than we said we would but they didn’t mind holding our luggages untilthe check-in. In fact, Duane moved our luggage into the room for us. They even tried to help us booking interconnecting flights and etc. The house is as represented and described. It’s in a good location but need to do a little hike to get to their actual door (alsi described in the description). The best thing about the house is killing view of the town and the ruin.

  • I stayed for three days at Steven's an Duane's home. It is a great place to stay for some days and just less than five minutes away from the plaza de armas. Both were great hosts and we have had interesting discussions about living and working in Peru. Due to their connections to local guides they organized a great tour to Maras and Moray. ...and I am looking forward to meet you at the next traditional Choquekilka festival. Thank's a lot.

    Axel2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Steven and Duane are great and very helpful hosts. The views from their place were amazing. Feather pillows and down duvet cover help us to have very restful night. Their house is super clean and with loads of small and nice touches. We felt like staying in a small paradise with everything we needed. Fully recommend them.

    Janneth2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Duane and Steven! The house was perfect and the room was beautiful. The view outside of the window was overlooking the Ollanta ruins and we got to wake up to that every morning. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked with cooking utensils. The house is very clean and has modern accommodations, the comfy bed was my favorite part. We shared a wonderful breakfast the next morning and I got to know the friendly hosts who told me about all the great hiking spots in town. I would definitely reccommend to anyone looking for a comfortable experience in a real Ollanta neighborhood.

    Callie2017-06-30T00:00:00Z

A quaint Bed and Breakfast uses the foundations of an Inca Building to to set the tone for your stay in "The Living Inca Village''. Breath taking views of the ruins on all sides and a lovely garden are made complete with fast Wi Fi. Clean. balkony.

    Marina2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We were switched to a different location at the last minute so I can't comment on this location. Eddy was kind and helpful in getting us checked in.

    Scott2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • If possible, make time to stay in the extraordinarily lovely and interesting village of Ollantaytambo! We walked along the stone-paved roadways and looked out on the Incan ruins by moonlight. Moreover, we found restaurants and shops that met our needs. The train station is just blocks away and collectivos are standing by just steps away from Eddy's place such that you can easily move about the area. The house is a repository for antique textiles and other provocative and engaging artifacts. The room was charming from top to bottom. But it is Eddy and his family who we will long remember for their graciousness and willingness to share information about their treasures with us. We highly recommend Eddy and his family's hospitality.

    Constance2018-04-02T00:00:00Z

    Lisa2017-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This little place is so cute and has some amazing views. The city is full of charm and gives you a taste of authentic Peruvian culture. When our plans fell apart with our train to Machu Picchu, we were thinking we wouldn't be able to go, but Eddy made some arrangements for us and we were able to go! He also made sure we had another room to stay in even last minute. He really came through for us- amazing host!

  • We had a nice time and felt happy during our stay.

    Megan2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Overpriced ! We arrived to ollantaytambo at least 2 hours after the check in time but there was no one there. We were In a rush to go see the ruins, but we wasted an hour trying to get hold of the host but he never picked up his phone and we never saw him. The girl that was cleaning the house finally open the door and let us in. The rooms were ok, looked somewhat clean. They had old charm. Overall it was more like camping than staying in the hotel/hostal . There was NO INTERNET the whole time we stayed there. The bathroom and the shower has no tiles or finishes, just bare concrete. it had warm water running after a while and good lights. The sheets were clean but the towels were sketchy and we had three people staying there and they only gives us two towels even though we asked for more twice. Overall the place was charming and in a good location, close to the ruins and to the train. I personally couldn't sleep in the house , it was not comfortable and the whole house shakes when someone walks on the floor, so that wakes everyone up all the time. The guy that was managing the house was nice and helpful, he would boil water for us and chat about the house. The breakfast to go, was not much of a breakfast, it was not homemade bread as mentioned in other reviews. It was small flat, round bread with melted cheese inside with an orange and kiwicha bar. It was tasty, but not much and got harden if you didn't eat right away. Overall the stay was ok, I just think it's a bit overpriced for the conditions it's in and no Wi-Fi. And the host not opening the door or answering the phone was awful. But if you have spare time to wait for someone potentially opening the door for you and you like rustic/camping charm this is a place for you !

Tradicional farm house in the Ollantaytambo, with all the basic things you might need in this town. You can see the archeological site , from the place. your bedroom with bathroom a kitchen, and dining room, a roomy living room, Garden
Away from the big cities, right in the arqheological town of Ollantaytambo, close to animals sheeps cows, hens and ... horses. with in the property. the place has all what you will need kitchen dinig room , living room, hot water and nature
5 minutes walking to the ancient town of Ollantaytambo, A bit treacky to get, so better call us from the plaza de armas, and Benito will come to pick you up. Ollantaytambo is visited mainly walking, no taxis needed.
  • Not as far from the central plaza as we thought! Stunningly beautiful setting. Benito arranged horse riding for us, magical time was had! Be aware that there are different caretakers there, so there are always people present (this could be because we were there on the weekend), but everyone was very friendly. It helped that I speak Spanish- if you don't, you may struggle a little. No provisions provided, other than some dried goods in a cupboard from previous tenants perhaps? we were shown how to work the hot water unit, were shown the keys to each area (kitchen is at the very end, the sitting room at the opposite, accessible only though going outside), there had been a pot burnt on the stove just before we arrived, and Benito apologised immediately for the very strong smell- this stuck around our whole stay, despite airing out the kitchen. The accomodation side of things was very basic, the bathroom didn't feel clean, with leftover bits of soap, old tubes of toothpaste and some dirty paper cups in the window sill. We used flip-flops in the shower, as I tried cleaning it but it was too big a job. From this perspective, in comparison to other accommodation in Ollantaytambo, it is overpriced. Washing machine seemed like too much of a hassle to drag out, connect to the water heater, gather water (the water ran dry), so we found a local laundry instead. However, the setting.... That is what makes this worthwhile! In the end, nothing beats the stunning paddock where the animals graze (just ask to see it, you may not think to wander out there), the field of pretty crops in front of the bedroom windows, and the rustic charm of the place. My husband couldn't sleep comfortably, as the double (full) size mattress wasn't very big ( he is tall) and had a noticeable dip on his side, and the rooms get dirty quickly due to all the dirt and animals being right outside. The smell didn't bother us, it just smells like a farm and horses. :-) The little dog Sussie is friendly and good with little kids. Benito is great and outgoing, but he had to leave to go somewhere, and since we didn't have wifi, nor cell phone access, we had no way of contacting him if we needed something, though everything was alright. If written information was provided on arrival (in English for those who don't have good Spanish) on certain practical matters, this would help immensely. Also be warned that as it is a working farm, you may be woken by clients as the door wanting their morning milk. We were up early, so the loud bell only woke me once. Consider this place an experience instead of a mid priced hostal. Will never forget the beautiful surrounds.

  • Such a delightful stay at this charming farm house in Ollyantaytambo. The room and bathroom were perfect-- clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed visiting with Benito, Paul and the others who were working at the farm. The place where the horses stay has a beautiful view of the ruins, and there are even baby cows. Great TV and recently got unlimited internet so we could watch Netflix on the TV using chrome cast at night too. Very close walk to town, but still feels peaceful. Highly recommend!

    Lindsay 2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with a nice, peaceful, safe 5 minute walk into town. We enjoyed waking up slowly, drinking our tea and taking in the mountains and sounds from the farm around us.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Walter's lovely farmhouse on the edge of Ollayantambo. Many hours were spent sitting in the quiet garden, enjoying the beautiful mountain views including some amazing ruins, playing with the friendly dog and lamb, reading and writing in the sun. The accommodation is basic but completely comfortable and looked after. The cosy kitchen is well equipped and we cooked all our own food during our stay. The caretaker and his family are also very nice and helpful. It's a great place to base yourself and explore the surrounding areas.

    Anniek2015-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a fantastic place to stay. The ruins are in clear view, the river, our own little farm to relax on. Benito and the rest of the staff are very welcoming, highly reccommend!!!!

    Corey2015-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the tranquil setting of Walter's farmhouse. It is located just outside of the town walls and an easy and pleasant, 10 minute walk to the center of lovely Ollanta. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed it very much. My kids enjoyed watching the cows and horses each day. We made friends with the farm dog. We sat outside and enjoyed the gorgeous setting. Walter was available by text and email, and there was someone at the farm to help us most if the time. The farm house accommodations are basic but clean and adequate for my family. There is a portable heater available if needed on cold nights. Shower is hot and Benito helped us increase the pressure. My husband speaks Spanish, which helped with communicating with everyone. My kids enjoyed the use of Netflix and the wifi. I communicated with Walter a few times and he was always responsive and helpful in English.

    Sarah2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • The moment we arrived, Benito found us at the main Square and showed us to the farm house. The farm house is a cozy, beautiful and peaceful place. Pascual lives there with his son and wife, a very friendly dog, a funny young lamb, 4 horses, 2 cows and chickens. They are wonderful and very helpful people (Pascual would fix any inconvenience as soon as possible) and we enjoyed a great stay.

  • The sight was amazing from our room (303), just a breath taking view. I definitely recommend the accommodations if you are wanting to visit Machu Picchu. It is within walking distance to the train station that takes you to the ruins

  • This place is picturesque!!! The views to the ruins are STUNNING!!! The hospitality given by the entire staff is beyond compare. Rooms are CLEAN, super comfortable bed, clean towels. Breakfast is great, best coffee we had in all of Peru!! Kitchen staff was great in accommodating us with omelet requests with smiles. Best of all was Michael, talk to him before booking any online tour requests. He’s really against tourist being taken advantage of and will do anything to help and make you feel at home. Really close to train station, Stay here if going to Machu Pichu. We are looking forward to our next stay in this amazing pace so cozy and quaint.

  • Miranda Hotel is on its way to becoming a "boutique hotel." Very clean and with public spaces that encourage talk among the guests. Potable water - not routinely available from the Peruvian public water systems for foreign travelers - is provided in bulk, so you can refill water bottles. There is attention to sustainability, and the owners and the staff are friendly and helpful. We requested and received a room with great windows, overlooking the Ollantaytambo site, which is a short walk from the hotel. The street passing next to our room can be noisy, but quiets as the night slips into sleep time.

    Victoria2018-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The landlords are very helpful and friendly. I got tons of useful information from them regarding my visit. They also sent me a detailed message how to get there from Cusco. Ollantaytambo is a great place to stay a night or two. A small village with lots of restaurants/bars right near the hotel. The place is accurately described by the hosts. The railroad station is 10 minutes on foot but there are other alternatives for those who do not like to walk.

Location Information: Once considered an afternoon stop-over on the way to MachuPicchu, more and more visitors are deciding to make Ollantaytambo the primary destination from whence they can experience the Sacred Valley and all it has to offer. • Very cool place. The wooden bunk bed was beautiful, as was the view. Breakfast was bread, jams, eggs and coffee/tea. Host and other travelers were all very kind. Laundry was done quickly and hung up to dry where we could retrieve it. The bathroom is shared and we had problems with the water (sink and toilet don't get much water when the washer is running). The shower was a a small stream of cold water. Location was close to the main square and we could easily walk anywhere. A great place to stay aside from some water issues.

  • We had a non stressful and easy planning experience with Casa de Wow. We were picked up from the airport (extra service) after an hour plane delay and we're greeted at the Casa with coco tea and friendly staff. The Casa is ran by an awesome family team. Jefferson (11 years old,) son of Winn and Henry took us on an early evening hike. The two children are pleasant and engaging in an nonintrusive way. The room was unique, earthy, clean with a jungle feel to it. We also had a wonderful view of the temple. Breakfast was delicious with homemade ingredients. The whole Casa de Wow was just special, Winn and Henry do an amazing job making everyone feel like family. After the end of our Peru trip we both agreed hands down that Casa de Wow was just so special and our best stay. We would love to stay with Winn and Henry again. Ollantaytambo is a must do if you are in Peru.

  • Wow that water was so cold! Yep, there was no hot water in the shower. Thank goodness we were only there for 1 night! Communication when we were trying to find the exact address of the place was a bit bad. I had asked them via Airbnb for the complete address and I did not get a reply. Finally when we got there I called them and they gave us an address which after we got there we realized was also wrong. The place had a good view and the room is exactly as described but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place unless they are able to fix the hot water situation. That was just freezing cold water and it was not fun.

    Noname2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome time staying at Casa de Wow for five nights. We will be traveling in Peru for about a month and a half, and Casa de Wow was the perfect place to start. They gave us a one-page guide listing all of the best restaurants and places to check out around Ollantaytambo, which was incredibly helpful, as it can be sometimes intimidating to try and figure out what to do in a new place. Breakfast was provided every morning, and the general atmosphere was extremely hospitable. We immediately felt at home. Ollantaytambo itself is an incredible little village; there are plenty of free hikes to go on around the area, and it is small and easy to navigate. We would definitely recommend a visit here. Huge thanks to Winn, Wow, and Turtle!

  • All I can say is great things about this place!!!! The owners are a mother and son who really put love into everything that they do at this B&B. We arrived very late and Zoila stayed up waiting for us to come just to make sure we were OK. The next day breakfast was awesome and Juan didn't hesitate to explain the history of the awesome town of Ollantaytambo! He even jumped on his motorcycle to grab a book for us from the ruins for a last minute souvenir!! Five stars all around!!! I definitely recommend Tiny House if you want somewhere where they actually care about travelers!!!! Muchas muchas gracias!!!

  • Great location. Helpful staff. Good breakfasts. We even were given little snack bags for our early train. Very thoughtful. I was under the impression that the two bed rooms were in a shared space, but they were two adjacent hotel-style rooms. This worked out fine, but with younger kids it would have not worked.

  • The listing said it was a double room, but it wasn’t. The WiFi didn’t work at all. There was no toilet paper, the shower floor had some hairs and didn’t look completely clean. One of the towels had a questionable brown stain on it. The sheets had a weird, musky smell. Other than all of that, Eusebia was very sweet and good at communicating. It was just an issue of cleanliness and not really what we expected based on the listing. This was a hostel that was not worth $40/night.

  • Lovely place very close to main square in Ollantaytambo. Felt like home staying for 2 nights. Great breakfast and great to get washing done too (for a small charge). Thanks!

A piece of History in Time, this Inca store house is a place for artists, garden lovers and people of all types who enjoy nature or history. With flowers and fruit trees everywhere, we are home to hummingbirds and a cute little sheep called Bubble. A couple of blocks from the main square and 10 minutes from the train and ruins
Check out these reviews: Definitely the best place we stayed on our tour through the sacred valley. Our only disappointment was that we booked just one night here. This compound takes up a full block of ollantaytambo, hidden behind ancient stone walls and nestled into the best part of town. It's less than five minutes by foot up from the plaza de armas (town center) and located just beneath incredible ruins that are viewable from multiple vantage points throughout the property. The space is perfectly rustic, private and accessible via a cobblestone street that is only wide enough for people. The absence of cars made for a super quiet retreat. The rooms have private entrances from an outdoor terrace, comfortable beds (a rarity here) and loads of charm (white, sparse, high ceilings, wooden beams and old wooden floors). The shared bathroom downstairs was never once in use when we needed it and we enjoyed bumping into fellow travelers in the shared kitchen. The yard and garden area is immense. There's a fire pit, hammock, local herbs for picking, a pet sheep and tons of space to read and write. Nicole was incredibly welcoming and her kids added loads of charm. Get a room here before it books up months in advance. Incredible value for the price. Incredible compound in a magical setting. Photos don't do the place justice. Rooms are private, big and extremely comfortable. The vibe is so so good and the hosts are top notch. Marta cooked us a delicious breakfast and we had no idea this was included in our stay! Rooms are accessible via their own outdoor entrances, so while the listing says shared, this isn't really the case. It's far more private than anticipated. We didn't mind the shared bathrooms as each one had a shower with ample hot water. Good luck gathering the motivation to leave and explore. We were so comfortable relaxing in the garden and could have easily dreamed away for days. A plus! This was my best airbnb experience to date, and I've had some pretty good ones, so that's saying something! The house is absolutely magical. As soon as you walk in the door to the courtyard you feel like you've stepped back in time. The rooms and architecture are beautiful, with gorgeous beamed ceilings. The garden is a true sanctuary, overflowing with delicious fruit, useful herbs, and a very playful sheep. We loved lounging around outside, surrounded by flowers, with the mountains and ruins in the background. We loved looking out from our windows onto the cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo and falling asleep to the sound of the ingeniously-diverted river that runs through the town. Best of all is Martha, who runs the house for Bill and Nic. She is so lovely and helpful. Her advice, care, and friendly conversation made our stay in town so special. The house is perfect for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, a cozy base exploring the sacred valley, or even a spot for a destination wedding (it definitely crossed our minds...). We were on the fence about whether or not to visit Ollantaytambo, and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the highlights of our trip. Make sure you book for at least two nights. You'll want as much time as possible at this incredible hidden treasure!
Ollanta is an old Incan town built on Incan ruins. Our house is surrounded by a completely intact inca wall and has a true Inca Canchon (storage house and space) inside the walls.
  • Fantastic place to stay in the hearth of Ollanta. Excellent communication and great breakfast.

    Luca2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place! By far our favorite lodging in Peru. It was quiet, the room was clean, breakfast hit the spot and we were walking distance to the ruins. Bill and Nicole were awesome hosts. And Martha! She was so kind to us and hooked us up with an amazing ride through various sites on our way to Cusco for our overnight bus. Martha was really great. Our only issue during the stay was the hot water was sort of hit and miss, but that seems to be the trend in Peru (or possibly bad timing on our part as I hear propane came in one day after I took a cold shower). In any case, I would highly recommend a stay here.

    Jessica2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and Nic were very easy to work with and very responsive. Experts in the local area and helped to make our trip a great success and memorable.

    Philip2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! The Garden House of Ollatantaytambo is exactly as advertised! Incredible architecture from colonial times with homage to the Incan culture is as inviting as it is historical. I have been traveling through Peru for Six Weeks and this incredible place has been, without hesitation, the most comfortable, clean, safe and welcoming place I have stayed. Not to mention, the two (yes, TWO) bathrooms with showers you could live in! Hot, great water pressure & pristine! In the quiet and songbird filled mornings, you are greeted by an incredible view of the Ruins above Ollay and the surrounding mountains. The garden is home to thousands of indigenous plants from the Sacred Valley. The garden also has a relaxing hammock for reading or enjoying a siesta. Steps from the main Plaza des Armas and with Bill & Nic's connections, an economical, direct route to the Peru Rail for Macchu Piccu! This oasis in Ollay is the perfect place to be rested and relaxed before and after the long trek up Macchu Pichu, or the plethora of other adventure tours in the Sacred Valley. I wish I could've stayed longer!

    Jacqueline2016-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Me and two friends of mine stayed in Bill and Nic's house for two nights and it was a wonderful experience! The house is a true typical one, made of stones and wood and, although it has some of the inconvenients of an old house, it is really cozy and make you feel like it is your very own home. It also has a beautiful garden where you can enjoy the peace of Ollantaytambo with some of a view on the mountains around and the ancient inca ruins. Our room and the two bathrooms available were very clean and we also had a delicous breakfast. Moreover, they gave us useful information to reach the train station for Machu Picchu and the local services. I do really recommend this house! Thank you!!

    Silvia2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you are considering a jaunt through the sacred valley, you might not find a lovelier place to stay than Bill and Nic's. Not only is it well situated to various scenic hikes, the train station is a mere 10 - 15 minute walk. But the best part of the house is the quiet one finds there. It felt, at moments, like I was in a small sanctuary, and it really made my stay in Ollantaytambo that much more meaningful. Lastly, Martha was incredibly helpful in showing me to the house and in getting me acquainted with where things were and how they function. If I needed anything, she was just a call away by house phone.

    Melbourne2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This home is breath taking. It is quite old so you get to see some beautiful architecture. The garden is stunning! More than anything, Martha, the lovely lady who helps direct you to the house and takes care of your needs... she is oh so fantastic. She has loads of great information and is great to talk to. She also prepares lovely breakfasts :) Bill and Nic are very responsive and really easy to communicate with as well. we loved this place and absolutely recommend it.

    Aida2018-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • It's a nice place to stay for short time with a nice garden. Miss Martha is a great woman who takes care of the house and is there if you need anything. However, the bathroom is outside so it's inconvenient to go out especially at night when it's cold, and after taking a shower it's unpleasant to walk in the cold to get to your room. Also, I felt like the host should have informed us about a strike that was going on because of which the roads were blocked. After more than 2 hours of riding in a car and almost reaching the place the host said we have the option to walk 8 km with our luggage or go back to cusco due to a blocked road. But if we were informed about the strike we would've been more prepared.

  • Beautiful stay! Katty is so warm and welcoming! Her beautiful home opens up to the mountains out back and the view of the city is incredible. A must stay! Fast wifi, walkable to everything in Ollanta, and Katty is wonderful!

  • We LOVED our stay at Katty's, Chaska Wasi. She was very helpful in every way. We travelled with my 5 year old daughter and she made sure to make our family experience in Peru an awesome one. Katty provided her valuable insight on where to visit. How to buy the train tickets for the train and Macchu Picchu. She recommended great places to eat and she even told us about an authentic indigenous community for us to visit. This really made our trip a lot more memorable and meaningful. Lastly when my brother decided to join us she had someone pick him up at the airport, take him around to see different sites and bring him to Chaska Wasi. She's pretty awesome!!!

Ubicacion privilegiada y hermosa vista.
  • The hostel was awesome! Just 5 mins away from the train station, our room overlooked a creek. The shower was hot which was very refreshing after coming from Cusco. We had to leave early in the morning and the host had a lovely breakfast bag packed for our journey. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Ollataytambo!

    Rachana2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location! Very close to the train station and the market. In the evening, we walked to the restaurant and to the main square. The room was clean and nice. We had to wake up at 5 to take the train to Machu Picchu so we tried to go to bed at 9 - It was impossible because the outside noise was too loud. Many vans use this street to park and drop off/ pick up tourists. They honk all the time, and every time they were parking, their reversal safety siren activated, making it impossible for me to fall asleep. I ended up falling asleep at midnight (not sure if the noises stopped or if I was too tired) and getting up at 5 (not fun). We left before they start serving breakfast, but they were kind enough to prepare us a brown bag with a breakfast to go. Oh, be prepared to be awakened by a rooster around 4:30am.

  • Good location, just 5 minutes walk to the train station to Machu Picchu. The room and bed was clean, however there were mosquitoes inside the room. The bathroom needed more cleaning. There is a breakfast box for the morning when you need to walk to the train station. the sound of the river creates a good ambient.

  • Perfectly good hostel experience and clean rooms. Beautiful location and very convenient to the train station.

  • We arrived late in the evening and the staff made sure that we got into our room quickly. The staff made sure that we had breakfast early the next morning. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the whole place was clean. It is a bit of a walk from the train station to the hostel, but it was a fairly easy walk down the main road.

  • The view from the terrace is actually the best in town and the shower was as hot as it could get. Room was spacious and breakfast was nothing special but plentiful. I did not have much contact with the staff because I just went in/out, but from the short bits of conversation we had they were friendly and helpful. And really, the view is good!

  • This place was great! The terrace is awesome! Comfy, clean beds! Great shower with hot water! Great breakfast in the morning, more than bread is always nice! Only negative thing is I kept trying to message Juan before our arrival and there was no response. But everything was great once we were there. Oh and no internet but I've heard the whole town is that way. They tried very hard to get it to work though!

  • Juan had great communication. This was a great place to stay, on our way back through, they gave us a room on the top floor with a patio and a great view of the ruins. Very clean, nice hotel. On our second night they even had a basket full of goodies for us. They kept our bags for us when we went to Machu Piccu.

  • After a full day at Machu Picchu, this was the perfect place to be. From the moment we stepped foot in the door, we were impressed. Great service! Great location! Amazing views of the whole town including Ollantaytambo Ruins from the balcony. Hot water! Great breakfast and comfortable beds. We left feeling relaxed and ready for a new day.

  • Really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were great, plenty of space and nice and clean - especially the bathroom which was a standout from other accomodation we had in the region. Only access is by walking either a few mins along cobble stones or up some stairs (this may be difficult for people with mobility issues) but which helps keep quiet mornings. Staff were friendly and informative. Highly recommend this choice in Ollyantantambo..

  • Great room with a fantastic view on the ruines in Ollantaytambo. The room is much better than in the pictures and is in the middle of the village and 10 mins away from the Inka rail. Lucia and her husband were extremely friendly and gave us a lot of tips. We’d definitely go back there. Many thanks!

  • We would definitely stay here again! Check in was quick and pleasant. We were shown to our very clean and well decorated rooms. The beds were clean and we had no issues with the room. The hosts were fantastic. There were a couple sitting areas and always water and tea available. Breakfast was good (not just bread and fruit!). They will hold luggage for you if you’re going to Machu Picchu or somewhere else and were incredibly helpful and accommodating.

    Megan2018-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot in Ollantaytambo. Pros: We were greeted by Michael who was very kind and hospitable. Breakfast was included but our train left early to Machu Pichu so we missed it but he was generous enough to give us all lunch bags to take with us. The beds were comfy and there was lots of space. Also, there's coffee and tea always available. Right outside the hotel are several great restaurants to check out. Cons: the only issue we encountered was the electricity. It was honestly out of their control but it couldve been bad if our phones and cameras were dead for pictures in Machu Pichu. We managed to find outlets outside the rooms to charge our phones enough for pictures. Michael promptly called the electrician the next day.

  • We've traveled and stayed at many places on AirBNB, but Alicia and Michael were by far the best hosts we've ever encountered. They literally gave us the room with the nicest view in the city that was quite priceless. You can see the ancient ruins right outside the window. Here are some reasons why this place is the best place we've ever stayed at: 1) The breathtaking view from the room - simply priceless. Best view in all of the town of the ancient ruins. 2) The amazing hospitality of the host - Michael spent a lot of his time helping us with our trip planning - from train schedule to finding a right out of town late at night, he helped us so much! It was nice to spend time getting to know such a cultured and smart man. He used to be a professor of philosophy 3) Speaking of amazing hospitality they went above and beyond in so many ways: a) Free coca tea to help us acclimate to the altitutde b) Packed us bagged breakfast because we had to take the early train to Machu Picchu and had to leave before the 6am breakfast c) Watched our bags for us after we checked out d) Gave us a room upgrade that was amazing due to their kindness - they aren't in it for the money. We even offered to pay more but they declined. Truly wonderful people. e) Wonderful trip planning advice We will recommend all our friends stay at their lodge. It's amazing! Thank you so much Michael and Alicia!!!

Our cozy home is a place to relax and feel one with nature. The house was constructed from natural and recycled materials that insulate the house, keeping it warm at night and cool during the day. We live "off the grid" without electricity and running water. We have hot bucket showers, potable water, solar lights, usb chargers, and pocket wifi. Our home is slightly removed from town (10 min. walk), surrounded by farms and mountains. We are in an ideal location for campfires and stargazing.
Tantakuy is a small house with a total of three rooms. The hosts' room is separated from the guests' room by the shared kitchen/living room. The bathroom is located outside of the house with a separate entrance. ***This listing is to book the entire guest space (maximum of 4 guests).*** The guest room has 2 single beds and 1 double bed. You can also book individual beds here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24010949 - single bed https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24162254 - single bed https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24200436 - double bed
The neighbors are few but very friendly. The house is surrounded by farms of corn, potatoes, wheat, quinoa, quiwicha and flowers. It is common to see local people walking by to go work on their farms. There is a dirt "road" that passes the house but it is very rare to see cars. There are some dogs in the area but they are friendly.
  • Luis’s place was everything we could ever imagine! Secluded from the busy streets of Ollantaytambo but close enough to walk to any place you’d like to see in the town including the ruins and the train station to Machu Picchu. Luis offered many stories about the culture of Peru and was extremely easy to communicate with. His place is very warm at night surprisingly and staying here makes you appreciate the simple things. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Ollantaytambo!

  • Luis’s place is absolutely amazing. It is far enough away from the main town of Ollantaytambo to feel completely secluded in the country, but it is at the same time a very easy walking distance from the town. I planned to only stay my first night in the Cuzco area at this house, but ended up deciding to rebook for 3 more nights. I fell in love with the Ollantaytambo countryside in large part because of this hostel. Luis is an amazing host, and the whole experience is absolutely memorable. He showed me so much in the area. I did not expect so much for this stay. Absolutely book with this hostel.. PS: The home has 3 main rooms, and the hostel room is not attached to the host’s bedroom.

  • After a long day of travels we were quickly made to feel at home. The hot water could be a lot hotter, but other than that, all good.

  • Great hostel - beautiful view of ruins and mountains whilst having breakfast on the balcony. Hot water doesn’t last too long and the WiFi is a bit up and down but other than that the host & staff are very friendly and helpful. Allowed us to have an early breakfast as we had to leave. Breakfast was great

This was one of the most amazing Airbnb experiences we have ever had! Gary was easy to get ahold of and extremely responsive. The apartment itself has all of the comforts of home, along with a ton of character! Would highly reccomend!

Carolina was a great host. She confirmed a tour of Machu Picchu for us, showed us the apartment, and called a cab. There's a nice hostel next door that Carolina owns, I believe, which allowed us to have the benefits of a private apartment with the services next door of a hotel. However, there were no towels provided and the shower was hard to manage. The rooms were big and clean and the view from the backdoor porch was spectacular. Overall, I'd recommend the apartment!
