Just booked in Ollantaytambo

Just booked in Ollantaytambo
when you get to Ollantaytambo first you imagine it is, be within the story. Walking through these narrow streets , all built with stones and have next to water channels , which were built in the Inca era. CHASKA WASI is within the APU Pinkulluna . opposite the hostel we can see the tree Pisonay with more than 160 years old. There are also hikes of 1, 2, 4 and 6 hours. quarries, Inca bridge, Intipunku , Pumamarka and native communities ( Willoc , Yanamayo Patacancha ) ollantaytambo enjoy !!!

  • Katty was wonderful! So attentive and helpful. The property itself is beautiful and the room has amazing views! Highly recommend.

  • Katty was one of the best hosts we have stayed with and our stay with her was uniquely enjoyable. She is well connected with the community and invited us to a community celebration during the Choquekillka festival. She also introduced us to a knowledgable guide who took us to the nearby Inca ruins. The view from the room where we stayed in was amazing! We would love to visit Chaska Wasi when we visit Peru again. Katty, thank you for everything!

  • I couldn’t have found a better place to stay in Ollantaytambo! This was our first ever accommodation in Peru and it was absolutely unforgettable. Katty’s hospitality begins even before you land in Peru. She gave tips on Machu Picchu preparation in advance. She also arranged for our pick-up at the airport, followed by a tour of Moray & Salineras de Maras per our request due to our limited schedule. We enjoyed the tour and the kindness of her driver, Geronimo. The tour went smoothly despite our limited Spanish proficiency as Katty arranged the itinerary in advance per our request. Chaska Wasi is more beautiful than shown the photos, with a view of the mountains right outside the window. The property flourishes with plants, flowers, and friendly pets, is immaculately clean, quiet, private, and safe. The amenities are topnotch and wifi is reliable especially in the common area. It’s a 5-min walking distance to the main square, probably 10-min away from the train station, and close to money exchange counters, cafes, & restaurants. Katty is an amazing host and is so attentive to her guests’ needs, gives great tips and helps arrange your transportation. I would come back in a heartbeat!! Thank you Katty!!

  • Katty's place was wonderful. The photos don't do the view justice--it was gorgeous. The whole property was great, as well. There were puppies running around to greet us, which we loved, and the place is centrally located. Katty was so warm and welcoming. We spent time with her and her family and really enjoyed ourselves. I would absolutely stay here again.

  • Kathy was an exceptional host. She communicated very well before our visit, she showed us around town upon check-in, and she was always to let us back in to the complex when we returned from meals. The room itself gets quite bright in the morning, but we enjoyed waking up to that. It’s about a five-minute walk from the main square. Overall, we strongly tare commend it!

    Alex2017-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Katty was extremely helpful and provided a beautiful location and room to stay before our journey to Machu Picchu. She guided us to wherever we needed to get to and was especially helpful when we needed to catch a cab to our next destination after our stay. Breakfast was offered each day with freshly made juice. Also our young daughter Juniper loved the cats! Great place overall!

A quaint 4 room Bed and Breakfast uses the foundations of an Inca Building to to set the tone for your stay in "The Living Inca Village''. Breath taking views of the ruins on all sides and a lovely garden are made complete with fast Wi Fi. Clean.
We are in the old town of Ollantaytambo in an Inca building. The old town is a area of town that has all original Inca buildings and streets, we are on the upper edge of town where taxis can reach our door but otherwise these streets are pedestrian only. An Inca canal flows past one of our property lines, bringing a relaxing sound of water to the place. The contrast of having great showers and internet access while being in the old town of ollantaytambo is wonderful.
It is the only living Inca city, one of the most beautiful urbanization in the Americas, and full of Peruvian culture behind every door.
  • The place holds a piece of history and Eddy was kind to share it with me. The house sits right by the river, few minutes walk from both ruins, central plaza (restaurants, buses, taxi) and right by the river. I could see the mountains from my window. It was perfect! Eddy’s wife made me delicious breakfast in the morning and they held my bags after check out, while I explored more. Deeply appreciated hospitality!

  • Eddy was an amazing host. His rooms are really nice and warm!! (He was one of the few who had a heater in his room which was a much apreciated feature in this cozy room! The water was very hot which is also rare in this area. The WIFI worked really well and breakfast was good and decent. What was outstand when it comes to Eddy is that he really helped us when we stranded in Ollantaytambo very late at night when the teacher strikes took place and PeruRail let the passengers strand in this town. We didn`t know what to do but call Eddy as we stayed with him before if he had a room for the night. We came to his place again and although he didn`t have a room he helped us find a room in a closeby hostel which was really nice as well. He even carried our luggage for several miles to the hostel. For the next day we had to leave really early by cab in order to avoid the street blockades another time. He called one of his friends who drove us at 4 in the morning to our next destination. We truly apreciate all the effort Eddy made and we will never forget how he saved us when hundreds of people stranded in Ollantaytambo. Thanks a lot and we will definetly recommend you to our friends! Take care!

    Florian2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Eddy’s place. The room very clean, hot water and a heater for the room but we didn’t need to use it. It was in a great spot, we liked that it was a little farther from the main square but still in great walking distance to everything. The view from our window was beautiful! We would recommend this place to anyone!

    Ashley2018-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Eddy’s place is quintessentially peruvian/local.he Is a fantastic host his knowledge and insight making our adventure even better.

  • They helped me out getting my luggage after the airline left my bag in the previous airport. Although I had to leave to Machu Picchu and come back two days later they were nice enough to receive my luggage and keep it safe while I got back to town.

  • We highly recommend Mundy Tika's place. The location is excellent. It is an easy walk to the train station, restaurants, the plaza and other activities. The grounds are lovely with friendly dogs and llamas. Breakfast was good. The room is cozy, warm with a great view. The staff is friendly and helpful. Although this is a hotel, it feels more like a home. We highly recommend it.

    Caitlin2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very nice and the staff were friendly. There are alpacas on-site and very friendly dogs that will accompany you around the property. They provide a nice simple breakfast. The location is quite central, but it is a small town, so everything is within walking distance anyway.

  • 15 mins walk from the center of town. There premises are being shared with another family. Getting hot water was a bit tricky. The host was unreachable when attempted to get hold off for the issues.

  • If you are looking for a place were to live an unforgettable experience don't look anymore. Amazing views, you can sleep upstair with the sound of the river, the best therapy... Very original furniture design with local material. Very big kitchen with all you can image. The beds are amazing, news and good ones. Irvin came to pick it up gave us all the advantages about the area. He did teach us about the Inca Culture. He also is very good guide as an descent Inca knows many things that he shares Highly recommended hire his service. 10 minutes walking to the center, 3 soles taxi if you don't want to walk. Thanks for introducing us into your culture.

  • Huayki's place was pure magic! The experience was authentic and true to Peruvian culture, right down to the textiles and wood furnishings in the home. It was very comfortable, and Huayki was an extraordinarily accommodating, thoughtful and friendly host. Huayki cooked an amazing breakfast for an additional small fee, made sure we had firewood each evening, and made sure we made it to the airport safely and very inexpensively. The horseback ride Huayki took us on through the mountains to Pumamarce was possibly the most breathtaking and beautiful experience of my life. I plan to take my son to Peru soon and plan to stay at Huayki's. I truly feel I have a friend in Peru now.

  • Huayki's guest house is a beautiful place in a beautiful pueblo. The space is exactly as described, although it is impossible to describe the tranquility and beauty of the space! We particularly liked both the Yoga space and the courtyard, but were also really happy with how well the kitchen was equipped. And the kids fell in love with the animals, particularly when Rin Tin Tin and his fellow pup followed us into town for our two days of adventure! Huayki was a great host, organizing a ride for our family from Cuzco and making us altitude tea with Coca and mint upon our arrival. He then allowed us to enjoy our space while keeping in touch via email. What a great option for accomodation only ~10 mins walk from the center of Ollanta! We wouldn't consider alternative accommodation should we be fortunate enough to be in Ollantaytambo again, unless Huayki already has guests booked!

    Michael2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Huayki's place was wonderful. We stayed in three Airbnbs during our trip to Peru, and by far this was our favorite! First, Huayki is a kind and thoughtful host. He arranged our airport transfer, connected us with a great driver to tour the Sacred Valley, and came early to cook breakfast in our kitchen for us the morning we went to Machu PIcchu. Second, the location is nice, just a 10 min walk from the charming town center. There are friendly dogs who will show you the way! The space itself is very welcoming. The layout is odd, the 2nd bedroom and shower are upstairs and is accessible through a separate keyed entrance. This might be an issue if you prefer the rooms be close together. Our party of 3 ended up squeezing into one room because it felt a little isolating to have one person alone upstairs, but it worked out fine for us and we would still choose this place if we had it to do all over again. There's something really special about this home. We loved it.

Each side of the bed has a reading light and a bed-side table and each sleepy head gets two pillows. A private bathroom is attached with gas-fed 24 hour hot water shower. Location Information: Once considered an afternoon stop-over on the way to MachuPicchu, more and more visitors are deciding to make Ollantaytambo the primary destination from whence they can experience the Sacred Valley and all it has to offer. In contrast to Cuzco, the small village atmosphere, lower altitude and easy access to incredible hikes has prompted many of our guests to feel more comfortable here and thus extend their stay. Ollantaytambo is called “the last living Inka village” as it has been continuously inhabited since the 13th century. It was the town for the Inkan Nobility and High Priests and once you are here it is hard not to notice the magic. So come walk the streets of gigantic jigsaw stonework or try some chichi (Inka Beer- fermented corn) with the indigenous people who are the direct descendents of the Inkas. • I had a wonderful stay at Winn & Wow's lovely home in Ollantaytambo! Winn was very helpful with my recommendation requests and the breakfast with the homemade elderberry jam and local honey was perfect. The location was perfect for my morning runs as well. Thanks again!

  • LOVED our stay here!! Quaint little place with lovely views of the mountains. The hosts were so warm and inviting. Breakfast served for you as soon as you wake up (have her homemade (Website hidden by Airbnb) amazing!!) Computer and printer available if you need. Nice location close to main square but far enough away it's quiet. A stream/culvert runs right next to it so always heard the water flowing. If you are considering staying in Ollantaytambo...first DO IT! My favorite town of places I visited (cusco, pisaq, calientes). Seriously wish we could have stayed longer!! We definitely will be back.

  • Hey you! Stay here. The furniture is hand crafted by Roberto (Wow) and the decorations are beautiful. Maria and Roberto care about making your individual experience as welcoming and enjoyable as can be. Breakfast is really nice too, especially when I added a few veggies from the local market. The hostel bar down the road has a great view of the ruins to watch at sunset and I got a free digerido lesson from the barkeep. Don't forget to make friends with the six puppies living there! Ask Roberto about the 'Apus' and learn some real Incan history as passed down to him by his grandmother. If you're feeling spiritually adventurous, follow up on the San Pedro ceremony. They call it the 'key to your heart'. I had a lovely stay and hope to be back soon!

Our beautiful house is located in a quite original Inca neighborhood from where you can enjoy the view of Ollantaytambo site. Your room is cozy, warm and has a queen sized bed, suitable for one person or a couple. We share our garden & kitchen.
  • I had a very pleasant stay at Nilton& Gaby's house. Ollantaytambo is a very small town where you could reach any place at a walking distance. Gaby is an artist and she made her own jewelry, she took care of the house with a lot of attention and care. Nilton is a very nice guy and we had some talks at breakfast time, he gave me some advices to planing my day. The house is a very cute two-floor wooden cottage, with a private little garden. My room is spacious, clean and warm, with a big and comfortable bed, shower is nice. I would highly recommend Nilton and Gaby's house!

  • One of the best Airbnb experiences ever! Gabi is an amazing host. Truly welcoming, attentive and helpful. Her place is cozy, clean and comfortable. And of course THE VIEW! Just seat on the balcony with a cup of tea and forget the rest of the world. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    Miguel2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable, clean, safe & great location. Gabriela was a great host and the room was very comfortable! Within 1 block of the main square with access to restaurants, cafes, taxis & the train. Water was not working so we could not shower but we did not mind - for 1 nights stay it was well worth it! Would recommend to all.

    Marjorie2016-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location; a couple blocks from the main square and 13 mins walk from the train station. Gabriela is super nice and was fast with responses and recommendations. The actual room is bigger than I thought and the bed is super comfortable, especially after a day of hiking around Machu Pichu. A couple things to note: taxi won’t able to drive to the house bc the streets are residential. Keep that in mind if you have big luggages like we did. We all have to share one bathroom. Those aren’t a problem for us but worth noting. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend Gabriela’s place if you’re looking for a place to rest while exploring the Sacred Valley.

    Kristi2018-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place has a fabulous location, very close to the city center. Gabriela was extremely helpful. She took extra care of us since we had some oversized luggage which was very thoughtful. She was very proactive in communicating with us. The property is beautiful and has an amazing view of Ollantaytambo.

  • This was a truly wonderful and charming Airbnb experience where Gabriela and Nilton make you feel not only welcome to their home, but also like part of their family. They referred to me as “Uncle Kauveh” to their darling daughter and went as far as taking me a world-renowned ceramic shop in another town when I mentioned wanting to shop for new household items. They also made me a delicious breakfast and provided restaurant and hiking recommendations that were truly off the charts. They’re nothing short of the absolute best!

  • This is a lovely place to stay in Olly. The house in on a very quaint charming street and you cannot beat the view from the room. The room is large with lots of light....and tones of charm. Gabriela is a great host ....I wish I had had more time to just chat with her and her cute little girl.

A quaint Bed and Breakfast uses the foundations of an Inca Building to to set the tone for your stay in "The Living Inca Village''. Breath taking views of the ruins on all sides and a lovely garden are made complete with fast Wi Fi. Clean. balkony.
  • Eddy is a great host. He's very helpful and makes a great scrambled eggs. The room is large and the view to the Incan ruins is amazing.

    Rob2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Eddy's place is located in a quiet side street of the beautiful Ollantaytambo. Eddy greeted us on arrival and assured our bags were safe while we did Machu Picchu and was very hospitable. The place is absolutely beautiful and even has a little terrace garden where you can look over some of the ruins. Would definitely stay with Eddy again!

    Siena2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a great time staying at Eddy’s place for three nights. The B&B is located in a still inhabited Inca city. It was extremely special staying here and experiencing the culture first hand. Walking through the streets looking at the Inca architecture was one of the highlights of our trip. Despite the antiquity of the neighborhood and building, the B&B has modern features such as hot water and reliable WiFi. We just so happened to visit during the towns most important four day celebration (late May) and got witness lots of traditional dancing. There are two sets of ruins in the town, one more famous than the other. The larger set of ruins is included in a S70 (about $23) ticket that allows you to see 4 of the most famous sites in the area. The smaller set of ruins that has a great view of the larger ruins is free and open from about 7am-4pm. There are many good restaurants in town. We ate at Puka Rumi, Orishas and Hearts Cafe. We enjoyed our meals at all three. Eddy was great! He even brought us on a mountain biking tour on which we saw both the ruins and salt mines of Moray. He knew a lot about both sites. Both are beautiful. Eddy competes in mountain biking so I felt very confident going with him! Breakfast was very good as well. Breakfast consisted of eggs, tea cookies, fresh bread, fruit and tea/coffee. One morning we left the B&B at 4:15am to see Machu Picchu and Eddy left out a bag of complimentary snacks for us as we were missing breakfast. The B&B is an easy 15 minute walk to the train station. There are many taxi’s at the station as well to go back to Cusco in.

    Adriana2018-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The room is on the top floor of a small BnB run by Eddy. We found it to be clean and charming with an excellent view of the archaeological site. The room was equipped with extra bedding (it gets cold at night at this altitude) and everything in the bathroom worked well. The BnB itself is on a quiet lane a two minute walk from the main square - close to the centre of town, but far enough to be peaceful. It also has a roof top garden. Eddy provides a simple breakfast (bread, coffee, cheese, eggs and fruit) and grants guests access to the kitchen, which is very useful as the restaurants in the town are surprisingly expensive (we found them to be the same as Toronto prices). Eddy was very prompt and clear with communications and even let us check in a few hours early, which was very much appreciated as we'd been on the road for 24hrs+.

    Simon2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Good stay. Jose, Graham, and Florence are all great hosts. The location was great, it was a good value, WiFi worked great.

    Christopher2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Eddy's place was nice and quiet with a great view, and breakfast in the morning was also very good.

    Jacqueline2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Eddy is a great host. He replies promptly to any questions. We decided to take the bike ride from Abra Malaga at the last minute and he accommodated us on a wonderful mountain bike tour. We would love to stay here again.

A piece of History in Time, this Inca store house is a place for artists, garden lovers and people of all types who enjoy nature or history. With flowers and fruit trees everywhere, we are home to hummingbirds and amazing views and hikes right out the door. A couple of blocks from the main square and 10 minutes from the train and Inca ruins
Check out these reviews: Definitely the best place we stayed on our tour through the sacred valley. Our only disappointment was that we booked just one night here. This compound takes up a full block of ollantaytambo, hidden behind ancient stone walls and nestled into the best part of town. It's less than five minutes by foot up from the plaza de armas (town center) and located just beneath incredible ruins that are viewable from multiple vantage points throughout the property. The space is perfectly rustic, private and accessible via a cobblestone street that is only wide enough for people. The absence of cars made for a super quiet retreat. The rooms have private entrances from an outdoor terrace, comfortable beds (a rarity here) and loads of charm (white, sparse, high ceilings, wooden beams and old wooden floors). The shared bathroom downstairs was never once in use when we needed it and we enjoyed bumping into fellow travelers in the shared kitchen. The yard and garden area is immense. There's a fire pit, hammock, local herbs for picking, a pet sheep and tons of space to read and write. Nicole was incredibly welcoming and her kids added loads of charm. Get a room here before it books up months in advance. Incredible value for the price. Incredible compound in a magical setting. Photos don't do the place justice. Rooms are private, big and extremely comfortable. The vibe is so so good and the hosts are top notch. Marta cooked us a delicious breakfast and we had no idea this was included in our stay! Rooms are accessible via their own outdoor entrances, so while the listing says shared, this isn't really the case. It's far more private than anticipated. We didn't mind the shared bathrooms as each one had a shower with ample hot water. Good luck gathering the motivation to leave and explore. We were so comfortable relaxing in the garden and could have easily dreamed away for days. A plus! This was my best airbnb experience to date, and I've had some pretty good ones, so that's saying something! The house is absolutely magical. As soon as you walk in the door to the courtyard you feel like you've stepped back in time. The rooms and architecture are beautiful, with gorgeous beamed ceilings. The garden is a true sanctuary, overflowing with delicious fruit, useful herbs, and a very playful sheep. We loved lounging around outside, surrounded by flowers, with the mountains and ruins in the background. We loved looking out from our windows onto the cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo and falling asleep to the sound of the ingeniously-diverted river that runs through the town. Best of all is Martha, who runs the house for Bill and Nic. She is so lovely and helpful. Her advice, care, and friendly conversation made our stay in town so special. The house is perfect for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, a cozy base exploring the sacred valley, or even a spot for a destination wedding (it definitely crossed our minds...). We were on the fence about whether or not to visit Ollantaytambo, and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the highlights of our trip. Make sure you book for at least two nights. You'll want as much time as possible at this incredible hidden treasure!
Ollanta is an old Incan town built on Incan ruins. Our house is surrounded by a completely intact inca wall and has a true Inca Canchon (storage house and space) inside the walls.
  • Martha their caretaker did an amazing job!

    Luis2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • What an adorable home! We were thoroughly prepared before or stay from ample communication with Bill & Nic. We were met by the caretaker who was exceptionally friendly & available to answer any questions we had during our stay. She recommended many activities we could do during our stay, which was greatly appreciated. The location was wonderful, hammocks out back in the garden, charming room, hot shower & freshly prepared breakfast in the morning. The only downside was the slats of our bed kept popping out when we would turn over. Our other bed was a bit short (only troublesome for our tall traveling companion whose feet poked out the end) & had quite a curve as if to help slide you out in the morning. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely return.

    Shannon2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • So lovely with a sweet garden, flowers, fruit, nestled up against a meditative mountain close to the central square but enough away to feel private. Martha fixed us a nice breakfast with good coffee and our hosts were responsive to all inquiries and very helpful coordinating our stay and welcoming us. The room was quaint and comfortable with a nice deck looking out on the garden. Just a great place in Ollanta. We loved it!

    Allison2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't do Nic and Bill's place justice. The town is amazing, the views from the house amazing. The place is immaculately maintained, Marta, the host on duty a genuinely lovely person who cares for guests like a cool auntie (all mom's love without pressure:-)). My son sat on a balcony overlooking the garden to write letters, a sanctuary, just a few steps from the square and everything you want to see and do in Ollanta. I only regret not staying longer in this great town and wonderful place.

    Janice2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, welcoming hosts, and super warm comforters! Nicole was super welcoming, and although we did not get to meet Bill, he was very helpful with directions and last minute questions we had. I would definitely recommend staying in Ollanta and at this house, as the experience in the Sacred Valley would be a lot more unique and tranquil. Plus, this is the closest point in the sacred valley for a visit to Machu Picchu.

    Rita2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay. So peaceful and warm. A few things to note - the bathroom is across a courtyard and outside. The housekeeper, Martha, is SUPER friendly. We got to practice our Spanish and she was practicing English.

    Jill2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is without a doubt the most privileged house in Ollantaytambo, with its huge green garden at the foot of a cliff with important ruins. Gorgeous and central location.

    Ignacio2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Although they were not there during our stay, the hosts were very responsive and helpful in planning various logistical parts of the trip, i.e. transportation to and from Cusco. The location of the house was very good, and it was definitely quiet, so we had a peaceful night's sleep. However, I did think the price was a bit high for what turned out to be hostel-type accommodations. And, while I did understand the bathroom was shared, I didn't realize that you had to go outside and up/down stairs from our room to use it. I found this to be very unpleasant if having to use the restroom at night, as it gets quite cold at night in the Sacred Valley.

Full Moon Eco Lodge is the perfect place to experience the true Sacred Valley and the living Inca village of Ollantaytambo. We are located in the heart of Ollantaytambo, but have a peaceful and quiet setting with views of the Sacred Valley.
The double room accomadates two individuals with a private bathroom. Included in the price is breakfast and use of *NEW IMPROVED WI-FI* in common areas.
  • This was a gorgeous place to stay. Elder was super sweet and went out of her way to get us special things for breakfast and make us a fire. I would definitely stay here again

  • Awesome place, nice relaxed vibe

    Ben2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Elder and his family run a fantastic bed and breakfast here for a very comfortable place to lay your head and venture out to the surrounding valleys and hikes in ollantaytabmo. Very basic rooms, very comfortable beds, very helpful hosts, speak English, Spanish and Quechua. Elder will take you on private guided tours anywhere in the area and he is always around to help with any other personal needs that a traveler may have. Camping is also cool here, but breakfast isn't included when you camp. Plenty of shady flat areas surround the edges of the property. It's down the dirt road, at the corner of town, close enough to walk everywhere, but far enough from the square for a quieter night away from the honking horns and police whistles. Please stay here and experience the great wealth of knowledge provided by Elder and enjoy a night at the fire ring swapping language skills! Bring a bottle of wine, Elder likes wine!!!!

  • Close to the centre. Host very helpful.

    Bogdan2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really liked this place! The setting with the hammock and the mountains was magical. Olly is a small town and this property is a tiny bit off the beaten path yet still extremely close to everything. The breakfast was cooked to order and the gals working there were super friendly and nice. adorable kitten too!

    Lori2015-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific place. Fantastic host. Very comfortable and clean. The outdoor area is simply incredible. Only few min walk from the main plaza. Highly recommended

    Stefano2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Super nice place, fantastic garden and view over the mountains! We even got a nice breakfast to take on our train ride to Machu Picchu. If you go there and want to eat some really good food in a very "real" setting - head one street away to a tiny place, where a super nice man cooks up a fantastic lomo saltado (and some Chinese food too!) literally in his own backyard! Super recommended!

    Alice2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a very peaceful relaxed lodge out of the hustle and bustle of the town. The photos are spot on what you get. You hear mostly birdsong, the occasional muted incarail/perurail honk in the distance from the rail station and maybe the odd dog bark now and again (you can't get away from dogs in Peru they are everywhere). The host has the cutest 2 little dogs who look like they live a life of bliss sleeping in the garden all day. The host did everything possible to help us feel comfortable including helping us with taxi to station , looking after luggage whilst we went to machu pichu and advice on collectivos. Breakfast was very good. Main thing is the hosts care about you and you feel safe and relaxed in this lovely lodge.

CHASKA WASI Te va a encantar debido a the room made of pure stones, giving the feeling of being part of the mountain !! with the typical view of two tree called PISONAY, which has over 160 years of antiguedad.desde our place we have a path that leads directly to the Pinkulluna colcas. from where you can have a nice view of the town and in front of our door you can find a hundred niches that come from the time of the Incas, Come be part of this mountain and feel their energy!!!
when you get to Ollantaytambo first you imagine it is, be within the story. Walking through these narrow streets , all built with stones and have next to water channels , which were built in the Inca era. CHASKA WASI is within the APU Pinkulluna . so we have our own entrance on the colcas . opposite the hostel we can see the tree Pisonay with more than 160 years old. There are also hikes of 1, 2, 4 and 6 hours. quarries, Inca bridge, Intipunku , Pumamarka and native communities ( Willoc , Yanamayo Patacancha ) in general can ask how to get to places. Ollantaytambo is the last living Inca town!
  • Room had no wifi , but it's all right i had more sleep.

Our cozy home is a place to relax and feel one with nature. The house was constructed from natural and recycled materials that insulate the house, keeping it warm at night and cool during the day. We live "off the grid" without electricity and running water. We have hot bucket showers, potable water, solar lights, usb chargers, and pocket wifi. Our home is slightly removed from town (10 min. walk), surrounded by farms and mountains. We are in an ideal location for campfires and stargazing.
Tantakuy is a small house with a total of three rooms. The hosts' room is separated from the guests' room by the shared kitchen/living room. The bathroom is located outside of the house with a separate entrance. ***This listing is to book the entire guest space (maximum of 4 guests).*** The guest room has 2 single beds and 1 double bed. You can also book individual beds here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24010949 - single bed https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24162254 - single bed https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24200436 - double bed
The neighbors are few but very friendly. The house is surrounded by farms of corn, potatoes, wheat, quinoa, quiwicha and flowers. It is common to see local people walking by to go work on their farms. There is a dirt "road" that passes the house but it is very rare to see cars. There are some dogs in the area but they are friendly.

  • Lucho and Chloe are incredibly kind and giving people. It's clear that they're committed to a sustainable lifestyle and they're making the most of it. We loved the nighttime walks from the town of Ollantaytambo to their place... not often you can simply "follow the sound of the water" to get home, or be awakened by the distant sound of roosters crowing. They've put a lot of effort into living simply and comfortably off the grid, and were so giving of both their time and space. The view from their house (during the day and at night) is incredible. The house itself is super cozy--the glass bottle windows are lovely--and the beds were comfy. The kitchen and common area had everything we needed to get started with our day, and the bathroom was an adventure (how can you say you've truly lived if you've never taken a bucket shower?). This kind of lifestyle won't be for everyone, but if you want to live off the grid and disconnect for a few days, this is the place.

    Lelia2018-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lucho and company were very enthusiastic hosts who helped us with anything we needed. The house is a very insteresting one on the edge of town with unusual design and we felt quite at home there.

  • Luis’s place was everything we could ever imagine! Secluded from the busy streets of Ollantaytambo but close enough to walk to any place you’d like to see in the town including the ruins and the train station to Machu Picchu. Luis offered many stories about the culture of Peru and was extremely easy to communicate with. His place is very warm at night surprisingly and staying here makes you appreciate the simple things. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Ollantaytambo!

    Camille2018-02-19T00:00:00Z

    Antoine2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lucho’s house is a gem. Definitely stay here if you visit Ollantaytambo! We wish we could have stayed longer to get to know Lucho better and enjoy his house even longer. The sky at night is beautiful and the view from the bedroom is incredible. Lucho left some bread and egg for breakfast which was very nice. Would definitely recommend and encourage everyone to stay there!

    Jérémy2018-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was perfect - so close to the train, and the price was right. Pamela was very responsive (en español) and everything worked out great. Gracias!

    Evan2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • J'ai adoré mon séjour chez Pamela. Ma.

    Vanessa2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pamela’s place was amazing, the view from the bedroom was incredible! 1 min walk to the square and 3 min walk to the ruins, 5 star!

    Connor2018-09-20T00:00:00Z

Muchas gracias!

  • Jesu runs a great place with Yo which is real value for money. He personally received me and was helpful with tips. Very happy.

  • Great stay here for 2 nights (did a day trip to Machu Picchu). Very hospital, clean and breakfast included!

    Connor2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and quiet place. Right near the market and the buses to other towns. Jesu went out of his way to show me how to explore the nearby attractions on my own.

  • Nice place for an overnight. Quiet just off the main square

    Lynda2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Delicious breakfast in the morning

    Nick2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was better than 5 stars hotel service that I experienced in there! Jesu&Yos were so nice to pick me up in main square even at night. The accommodation was so good, it has everything that you expected, hot water, smooth WiFi and even they will tell you what you need and ask with fluent English. Jesu introduced me a restaurant to me nearby and even help me translate what dishes it were, it was a very warm journey to me there even though just in short time, well recommended!

    Ethan2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Ruinas View is a great place to stay in Ollantaytambo! Jesus could not be nicer or more helpful. Beds are super comfy and have nice quality bedding. WiFi is good and they serve an excellent breakfast. Their place is also super clean! Highly recommended!

  • Increible estancia en un lugar magico

  • The host was very nice and accommodated us with late check in. The bed was comfortable. But note that in this season (may) it gets really cold in the room (no heater) though once under the thick & comfy blanket it's all perfect. Take a fleece jacket & enjoy the amazing view! & little bonus, they serve good coffee in the morning.

  • Excelente lugar!!! Rico desayuno y buena vista!!! :)

  • We loved this place! We stayed in the Junior Mountain Suite and it was absolutely beautiful (exactly like the pictures). Everything was very clean and seemed brand new. Ollantaytambo is a beautiful location, and I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area visiting Macchu Picchu and want a nice quaint town to be in. The hosts were very hospitable and accommodated our late check-in time, and made us a delicious breakfast in the morning!

  • PERFECTION!!! From the location to the service to the views to the owners to the local towns energy...simply THE BEST! We will return and spend much more than 1 night here next time. The jacuzzi was the best for just finishing a 4 day expedition to to Machupicchu!!

The room has a small balcony that at dawn has an incredible view of the mountains. This Queen room is ideal to spend your time in Ollantaytambo and has everything you need for your comfort as private bathroom with hot water, to have a very relaxing shower and a comfortable room with queen bed. Breakfast is included between 7am and 9am.
  • What a wonderful surprise this place was. Tidy, modern, and lovely people to boot. Ollantaytambo is a perfect little town with good pizza and cozy corridors. Cattys place was 2 minutes from the main square and had soft sheets and hot showers which is all i wanted. Great place for a nice price

  • La Casa Del Abuelo is a fantastic gem. The hostess is great, we had a really nice stay there. The room was super clean, airy and lovely. Breakfast was copious and delicious and bed comfortable. She even poor idled a packed breakfast when we left early for Machu Picchu and when we arrived home after a long day out, the shower was hot. We would highly recommend it, real good value and service with a smile.

  • I had such a wonderful stay at Carlo and Lucy's hostel! They made me feel right at home as soon as I arrived. They arranged all my transportation for me regardless of how last minute my request was and it was very reasonable. YOU MUST HAVE CARLO COOK FOR YOU! The best meal I had during my stay, and the night I ate out he referred me to a wonderful casual restaurant. I would stay here again and again! Thank you guys for being so wonderful! Also, they play the best music while they cook!

    Maxim2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy and Carlos were fantastic! They organized a taxi for us from Cusco to Ollantataymbo, met us upon arrival and gave us tips for the town. The hostel is located about a 5-minute walk from the main square and takes about 5 minutes to reach the nearest ruins. The room we (a family of 5) stayed in was comfortable and clean. The breakfast, made for us when we arrived to the dining room, was delicious! We regretted spending the next night in Aguas Calientes and wished that we had returned to Ollantataymbo to stay in this hostel another night!

    Daniel2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Jean Paul. The town was very neat. It was about a 5 min walk to the square and 15 min walk to the train station. Jean Paul was quick at responding to our questions and requests. We would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Ollantaytambo. On a side note he also has two lovely doggies and cats!!

    Alice2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nestled on a quiet side street just a few minutes from the main square is this little gem! Jean Paul is an amazing host, and the place carries its own charm with a beautiful front yard and patio area. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean, and Jean Paul even cooked us breakfast in the morning. Would definitely recommend if you're ever in the area!

    Sophie2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The location was ideal for me. Just a short 5 minute walk from the town square. It's a quiet place with an adorable raised patio that was perfect for enjoying the Andes in peace each morning. My room was a good size and clean. I was very happy the Shower gets hot and bathrooms are nice and clean. If you need to take a taxi anywhere, it will save you a lot of soles / cash to arrange the ride on your own. After leaving Ollantaytambo I found out from locals in Calca and Cusco I paid 3-4 times more than what is average when Carlos arranged my rides. Besides help with transportation (and some lost laundry) I loved this place and would stay again.

    Michelle2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carlo and Lucy were very helpfull providing all the help/info needed and the complementary breakfast was good. Our room was next to the busy coblestone road and some had trouble sleeping as well as getting a decent warm shower. Otherwise a good place to stay.

Welcome to our home! The rooms are comfortable and have a magnificent and wide view of the mountains. We have a great point of view. Our house is traditional of Ollanta and is a quiet area,it is located outside the center of the city in the pyramid of Pakaritampu The house is shared with us since we live on the site. Accommodation is good for couples, adventurers, business travelers, families (with children)
our neighborhood is very quiet, we live near the farms so you will always hear the trill of birds the crowing of roosters
  • I had a nice stay.

    Anna2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ana was amazing and very accommodating. We got there late but she was great. It is a shared bathroom and you can hear everything if there is people staying in the other room. Not Ana's fault but the walls are paper thin. Besides that Ans and her family were amazing and even allowed us to join them for breakfast since we didn't have to leave until 12.

  • Our stay in Ollantaytambo was amazing! We were so glad we decided to spend some more time in this town. Ana and her family were so kind and helpful and really made our experience a memorable one. They also suggested some great restaurants to check out. We would highly recommend Ana's place for accommodation when visiting Ollantaytambo! Thanks again for everything :)

    Jessica2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Best. Hosts. Ever. Hospitable, quick responses and they really make an effort to connect with you. The home is modest, but the treatment outshines it all. In our case she even made us a typical meal, brought us local teas for the altitude sickness, and even offered to store our luggage to avoid hassles at Machu Pichu. When we come back to Ollantaytambo we are definately staying with them again.

    Pancho2017-12-08T00:00:00Z
Realmente recomendable !!!

A piece of History in Time, this Inca store house is a place for artists, garden lovers and people of all types who enjoy nature or history. With flowers and fruit trees everywhere, we are home to many hummingbirds. A couple of blocks from the main square and 10 minutes from the train and ruins
Definitely the best place we stayed on our tour through the sacred valley.
  • Bill and Nicole's house was very easy to find a couple of blocks from the center of Ollantaytambo. The rooms were all very nice, the beds were comfortable, and the garden around the house was in great shape. Martha was extremely helpful, meeting us at the city center to help us get settled in, then cooked breakfast for us in the morning, and helped us book a collectivo to Pisac. I'd definitely recommend it!

    David2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Bill and Nic's place in Ollantaytambo was fantastic. The photos really don't do the garden and the lodgings justice. We bought local veggies at the town market and used the spacious kitchen to make our own cheap dinner. The garden had amazing flowers and a pet sheep! There are free, amazing ruins on the hillside above the house, only a two-minute walk. The beds were comfy, the facilities were clean, and the shower stayed hot! The place is run by Marta, a kind, smiley woman from Ollantaytambo. She was beyond helpful; she met us and brought us to the house, cooked us breakfast, suggested things around town, and even helped us catch a collectivo back to Cusco. The stay was great. I would highly recommend staying in Ollantaytambo at Bill and Nic's.

    Ian2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a more rustic place to stay! Everything was ready when we got there but we did find a lot of bugs in our beds and it was not the cleanest.

    Gabby2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow!!! What an amazing experience we had at Ollantaytambo, Macchu Picchu and Urubamba!! Bill and Nic made it all possible with arrangements of airport taxi from Cusco to Ollantaytambo (an amazing 2 hours ride through country side and mountain views) to our humble hostel. Our taxi driver was very courteous. We were greeted by Our Martha and we really mean ours because we would steal her away to our florida home, we loved Martha that much! Our room was spacious enough for three and the bathrooms had unlimited hot water as I was told by my son Preston, who learned it from Martha because of the community water heater. The garden was very spacious and intimate and tranquil. Big enough that my son and I had enough room to throw a baseball around. Take ear plugs with you if you want a restful night or nights of sleep! The locals like to party late night if you ran across a 25 or 50 marriage anniversary or festivals that are being celebrated at the community hall. They will blast concert music till 3-4 in the morning! Occasionally you will hear dogs barking for 2 hours straight or back packers or locals talking as they walk by on the original Incan cobble streets. We loved the experience!!! You just need to come prepare with ear plugs. Don't misinterpret and let the noise be an issue. We wouldn't have done it any differently. Ollantaytambo hostels square was unbelievably intimate, centralized and very convenient for Machi Picchu, the salt mines and Urubamba and surrounding sites. Ask Martha before you book taxi and tours etc. Make sure you dress warm for the night during this time of year.. June through August, nights can drop to 30 degree F and there is no heat. Daytime is a warm 65 but feels like 75 when walking and hiking. Rain is non existent..

    Amber2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Out stay in the rustic garden was great! We loved marta the host who took great care of us and cooked us breakfast of organic eggs, peruvian bread and cherry jam. Nic and bill were very accomodating in helping us get transportation from the bus stop. We did share a bathroom 50 steps away from our room with the other guests but it was not a problem. This place is a little gem.

    Minda2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly and helpful.

    Tiffany2017-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect gem. Upon arrival Marta was waiting for us with a warm smile and walked us up to our room. Our room was very clean. She laid out our activities during our stay and did everything to make sure we were taken care of. She even cooked breakfast for us. This place has excellent location. Highly recommend staying here if you have plans on going to Machu Picchu. Bill and Nic were fantastic. We had lots of questions in hopes to make the most of our stay and they were always quick to respond (before and during our stay).

    Charlie2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located about 5 minutes walk from the town square. The street from town square is pedestrian only and paved with cobble stone. It could pose some difficulty to move large luggage. Martha the caretaker was very nice to us. She gave us all the necessary information and came in the morning to set up breakfast. She speaks good English. The rooms are rustic and clean. Breakfast is simple with fresh bread and egg which is good enough for us. The nearby community center may hold parties at weekends which happened on one of the nights we stayed. There was loud music but it did not bother us since we were exhausted from the hikes at Machu Picchu. The garden and hill with Inca ruins right next to it are nice to explore when you come back from the main activities.

Me encantó..

Excelente! Muchas Gracias!

  • Good value overall. Nice view from our matrimonial room. Everything as pictured/described. The only problem was that the shower alternated between cold and scalding hot.

Tradicional farm house in the Ollantaytambo, with all the basic things you might need in this town. You can see the archeological site , from the place. your bedroom with bathroom a kitchen, and dining room, a roomy living room, Garden
Away from the big cities, right in the arqheological town of Ollantaytambo, close to animals sheeps cows, hens and ... horses. with in the property. the place has all what you will need kitchen dinig room , living room, hot water and nature
5 minutes walking to the ancient town of Ollantaytambo, A bit treacky to get, so better call us from the plaza de armas, and Benito will come to pick you up. Ollantaytambo is visited mainly walking, no taxis needed.
  • At first I had a hard time finding a way to contact Walter once in Ollantaytambo (I couldn't get my cell phone to work), but the minute I got wifi he was able to send Benito to find us at the main plaza. Overall, the farm house was a truly wonderful experience. We managed with our broken spanish- the entire family welcomed us (I think it was the owner+Pascual's family). They showed us our rooms, even cooked us a delicious tipico meal (boiled potatos, cheese, corn, ham, steak, chicken) and gave us lots of coca tea. We felt very welcomed. The rooms were exactly what we needed- and the shower even had a water tank/controller and had lukewarm showers (like the rest of peru). There were insects, but that really can't be helped. Just make sure to have your screen up and wear bug spray/tea tree oil. I didn't get any bites from here. Joboca (the dog), and the other animals were lovely to watch. This place was the most peaceful part of our Peru trip, I would highly recommend this place to those open to staying on a little quiet farm, fresh air, lovely views all around. Do not expect luxury hotel furnishings, but instead a beautiful and highly eager to help family and modest settings. We loved it so much.

  • Not as far from the central plaza as we thought! Stunningly beautiful setting. Benito arranged horse riding for us, magical time was had! Be aware that there are different caretakers there, so there are always people present (this could be because we were there on the weekend), but everyone was very friendly. It helped that I speak Spanish- if you don't, you may struggle a little. No provisions provided, other than some dried goods in a cupboard from previous tenants perhaps? we were shown how to work the hot water unit, were shown the keys to each area (kitchen is at the very end, the sitting room at the opposite, accessible only though going outside), there had been a pot burnt on the stove just before we arrived, and Benito apologised immediately for the very strong smell- this stuck around our whole stay, despite airing out the kitchen. The accomodation side of things was very basic, the bathroom didn't feel clean, with leftover bits of soap, old tubes of toothpaste and some dirty paper cups in the window sill. We used flip-flops in the shower, as I tried cleaning it but it was too big a job. From this perspective, in comparison to other accommodation in Ollantaytambo, it is overpriced. Washing machine seemed like too much of a hassle to drag out, connect to the water heater, gather water (the water ran dry), so we found a local laundry instead. However, the setting.... That is what makes this worthwhile! In the end, nothing beats the stunning paddock where the animals graze (just ask to see it, you may not think to wander out there), the field of pretty crops in front of the bedroom windows, and the rustic charm of the place. My husband couldn't sleep comfortably, as the double (full) size mattress wasn't very big ( he is tall) and had a noticeable dip on his side, and the rooms get dirty quickly due to all the dirt and animals being right outside. The smell didn't bother us, it just smells like a farm and horses. :-) The little dog Sussie is friendly and good with little kids. Benito is great and outgoing, but he had to leave to go somewhere, and since we didn't have wifi, nor cell phone access, we had no way of contacting him if we needed something, though everything was alright. If written information was provided on arrival (in English for those who don't have good Spanish) on certain practical matters, this would help immensely. Also be warned that as it is a working farm, you may be woken by clients as the door wanting their morning milk. We were up early, so the loud bell only woke me once. Consider this place an experience instead of a mid priced hostal. Will never forget the beautiful surrounds.

    Mara2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • The moment we arrived, Benito found us at the main Square and showed us to the farm house. The farm house is a cozy, beautiful and peaceful place. Pascual lives there with his son and wife, a very friendly dog, a funny young lamb, 4 horses, 2 cows and chickens. They are wonderful and very helpful people (Pascual would fix any inconvenience as soon as possible) and we enjoyed a great stay.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Walter's lovely farmhouse on the edge of Ollayantambo. Many hours were spent sitting in the quiet garden, enjoying the beautiful mountain views including some amazing ruins, playing with the friendly dog and lamb, reading and writing in the sun. The accommodation is basic but completely comfortable and looked after. The cosy kitchen is well equipped and we cooked all our own food during our stay. The caretaker and his family are also very nice and helpful. It's a great place to base yourself and explore the surrounding areas.

  • We had a wonderful time in Ollantaytambo, and a large part of our experience was due to the hospitality of Walter & Paul. They made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. We really felt as if we got to experience 'real' Ollantaytambo life, which was awesome. The night we arrived, Paul met us at Plaza de Armas, and took us to the house. He took time to show us around and really make us feel at home & comfortable. He and his family were delightful. Both Paul and Walter use (Hidden by Airbnb) , which made communication easy! On the day we were checking out, we wanted to see a few more sites. We were allowed to leave our bags at the house as long as we needed, which meant we could enjoy the Ollantaytambo ruins without having to carry our heavy packs - a life saver! The space itself was perfect for what we needed for our two night stay. There is a large living room, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. We were so busy while we were there, we really only used the bedroom and bathroom - which was more than enough space to relax! We loved that we were in walking distance to everything (downtown, the train station, the ruins). You walk out of the door and you can see ruins everywhere. Ollantaytambo is beautiful, and this house really allowed us to experience all the beauty the town has to offer! Thanks for your hospitality! (Please tell Paula we say hello from the USA!)

  • Such a delightful stay at this charming farm house in Ollyantaytambo. The room and bathroom were perfect-- clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed visiting with Benito, Paul and the others who were working at the farm. The place where the horses stay has a beautiful view of the ruins, and there are even baby cows. Great TV and recently got unlimited internet so we could watch Netflix on the TV using chrome cast at night too. Very close walk to town, but still feels peaceful. Highly recommend!

    Lindsay2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Walter was very friendly and helped us where he could. He sent Benito to pick us up from the main square in town to guide us to the not easily discoverable place. He answered all my questions and was overall very helpful. Top! The place itself is a gem. It's located about 10mins away from all the bars and restaurants pretty much in the nature on the foot of a mountain. The house got 2 bedrooms a kitchen living room and bathroom with hot water and wifi. The backyard is kind of a farm with different animals. And due to that it's quiet at night, you can't even hear the river that runs almost right next to the house. Benito was there to answer all our questions and to take care of us. He's really an asset to the place. Great guy who showed us even how to ride a horse! We loved it and would anybody recommend to stay at Walters place, it's the best way to experience the beauty of ollantaytambo since you can see some ruins from the window and the sleeping king in the mountains. Made us feel welcome and right in the middle of history!

  • My party arrived at ollantaytambo much later than expected, but Walter sent Benito to get us without a hitch. We had an extra bed set up and were offered tea in the kitchen. I couldnt ask for better service. All in all a very pleasant stay

Diego y Liz

  • Very clean hotel with comfortable rooms. 5 mn walks from the plaza de armas, but the small streets are nice and feel safe. Juan speaks good english and was a very helpful ressource in organizing our stay. We highly recommand the place for a stay in Ollantaytambo

    Karla2015-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place. Had a room on top of the terrace which had warmed up nicely during the day and was nice and warm in the evening still. (I was there in the colder season) Beautiful rooms. Only problem was the internet was not working at all, so I had to walk down to the village to work, when I was really looking forward to work from my comfy bed that night.

    Nika2015-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The property was exactly as pictured. Great location, clean rooms with daily maid service and hot water. Cannot ask for much more. The beds were comfortable plus there is a nice rooftop patio to view the beautiful surroundings. Very good value for the money.

    Julie2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our experience. The hotel is in a beautiful location surrounded by the mountains and everything was clean and well cared for. The employees and hosts were great, we loved talking with them and they were so kind to us. They helped us prepare for our Machu Picchu experience by getting an early morning taxi for us, providing a boxed lunch, and making sure we had everything we needed. They also showed us where we could climb the free ruins in the city. The only problem was that there was an issue with the wifi while we were there, which we were depending on, but they did let us borrow their computer, which helped a lot. We would recommend them for sure!

  • The most memorable place I've stayed in Peru for sure! The lack of power or running water made the whole experience feel so much more serene and authentic, and once you're there you realise you don't miss them at all. The house was warm, super comfortable and absolutely full of character and the view of the starts and mountains at night was unforgettable. Lucho, thank you so much for being such an amazing host and making us feel like we were visiting an old friend! The bonfire night we had you made for us is a definite highlight and I'm sad I had to leave so soon! See you next time

  • Lucho and Chloe are the best host. They are the kindest people on earth. The house is warm and they are even warmer. I miss them so much. The surrounding of the house is beautiful, I have taken a lot of good pics, the stars at night and the landscape in day time. I wish I could stay longer, sadly my travel time is short.

    Yan2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lucho’s earth house is the best air B and B we’ve ever stayed at. We loved getting out of town and enjoyed the simple life: no electricity, (hot) bucket showers, and the most incredible night sky. Lucho was so incredibly helpful during our time in Ollantaytambo and even cooked us a warm breakfast in the morning. We felt right at home in his place and wished we could have stayed longer. By far the best and most relaxing part of our Peru trip! Thanks Lucho!

  • I'd have to say I enjoyed Ollantaytambo more than cusco. It's a very cute down and thus airbnb is perfect! Located just like a 5 minute walk from the plaza, 5 minutes to the ruins, and about 10 minutes to the train station. Our room had a incredible view of the ruins and mountains too, and the room was adorable! We also booked a tour of Moray, Salineras, and Chinchero through them which was amazing and at a great price. And our tour guide was great. Picked us up from our hotel in cusco, drove with us to all of the places while we left our luggage in the car and he gave us information on all the places. Definitely recommend booking casa de wow!

  • What an amazing house. Great overall. We felt so welcome and loved chatting with the other guests over breakfast. The only downside was the walk up the hill in the dark when we weren't 100% sure where we were going. The view was outstanding.

We would have loved to stayed for longer.

  • We had an awesome time staying at Casa de Wow for five nights. We will be traveling in Peru for about a month and a half, and Casa de Wow was the perfect place to start. They gave us a one-page guide listing all of the best restaurants and places to check out around Ollantaytambo, which was incredibly helpful, as it can be sometimes intimidating to try and figure out what to do in a new place. Breakfast was provided every morning, and the general atmosphere was extremely hospitable. We immediately felt at home. Ollantaytambo itself is an incredible little village; there are plenty of free hikes to go on around the area, and it is small and easy to navigate. We would definitely recommend a visit here. Huge thanks to Winn, Wow, and Turtle!

It was the town for the Inkan Nobility and High Priests and once you are here it is hard not to notice the magic. So come walk the streets of gigantic jigsaw stonework or try some chichi (Inka Beer- fermented corn) with the indigenous people who are the direct descendents of the Inkas. Let us introduce you to some of these wonderful local people who can guide you into their world, provide cultural connection within traditional communities where tourist seldom venture and lead you on stunning treks through the natural wonder.
  • So lodging in Ollanta is notoriously difficult to get a good idea of without having your feet on the ground, but Casa de Wow!!! was the most pleasant of surprises. I was only in Ollanta 1 night but I'm pretty confident that CdW!!! is among the best budget options, if not the best. Their online communication is severely lacking both in English and Spanish, but everything worked out perfectly in the end. Roberto is the kindest man and everyone is really sweet. I even managed to lock my key in my room at 10:30PM and Roberto came from off-site to let me in, with a smile on his face. Just be aware that at least basic Spanish will make booking and communication much more smooth (read: communication even with conversant Spanish was very difficult). They have the cutest bunk beds I've ever seen, a spiral staircase, and hot breakfast (w/ eggs cooked to order!) served by the nicest woman. We even had a view of the ruins from our window! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • We only stayed for two nights, but we had an awesome time here. Maria was excellent with communication, and we were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived. She gave good tips regarding restaurants in the area and also about visiting Macchu Picchu. She also was kind enough to cook us breakfast. I would highly recommend this Airbnb.

  • Awesome stay! Winn was super welcoming and helpful with tourist info. This is exactly the place you should stay for a true "Airbnb experience." Also the breakfast was very nice : )

  • What a charming place! We came in on a rainy night and Steven was there to greet us with steaming cups of coca mate tea to help with the altitude adjustments. We were shown to our room (the one with the bunkbeds) and he promised to leave out our breakfast so we could eat it on the way to Machu Picchu the next morning. The morning we left, a sweet lady (I forgot her name!) made us eggs to order with coffee and fresh bread. she even held our baby son while we ate! We really loved this unique place!

  • Casa de Wow was picturesque and was a beautiful location to stay while in Ollantaytambo!! Everyone traveling with me agreed that we would stay again in a heartbeat. Henry was waiting at the airport in Cusco to shuttle us directly to Casa de Wow. The location is about a 15 minute walk from the train station and about a 2 minute walk from the main town square. As soon as you walk out the door, mountains greet you. The hosts were fantastic and the breakfast was refreshing and exactly what we needed after a long two days of traveling. The room had two bunk beds in it and the stay overall left us feeling like we had an authentic Peruvian experience!

  • The owner 'Wow' was very passionate about his town, Ollantaytambo, and his interpretation of the surrounding hills was amazing. The property is full of charm adding to the entire beautiful experience. Highly recommended.

  • Vanessa answered my request in good time and I was arriving early in the morning at Cusco and wanted to get to Ollantay tambo the same day. She said that someone could pick me up which was very helpful after a very long bus ride. All the communications were so helpful and friendly. I loved the view from the room and I loved the peace and quiet. I wish all places would ask for 11pm to 8am silence. It was just so perfect for the tranquillity of Ollantaytambo. Everyone in the household was friendly. I felt very comfortable, very relaxed and slept so so well. Thank you so much Casa de WOW. The time I spent with you was WOW!

  • The owner of the Casa is without a doubt an embodiment of hospitality. It is the establishment like his mini-hotel that inspires me to continue using Airbnb. It is located very centrally yet it is not in a noisy corner. Wonderful view of the temple from my room. Rustic decor. Ricardo is an incredibly warm and welcoming person, he took care of me when I was feeling sick from the altitude sickness. I won’t think twice about where to stay if I were to return.

  • Señor Wow's home iss unique and beautiful. It has a stunning view, a little of the main road (so no traffic/ car noise) and a soothing sound of a little stream outside to fall asleep to! Amazing! Also, señor Wow 's hospitality is second to none! ⛰❤

  • If you don't mind walking a lot over jagged cobblestones, that tear up your luggage wheels. And you make arrangements for breakfast and no one shows up.And they make taxi arrangements to get you train station on time and no one shows up,then this would be a perfect place

    Newton2016-01-06T00:00:00Z

  • Great B&B (with breakfast) in the beautiful town of Ollantanyambo. We only stayed one night and we wished we had more time to relax in the town and at Eddy's. The room was cozy, comfortable and clean. We had hot shower and the location is perfect. Highly recommended.

    Mériem2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
Petit dejeuner tres bien.

    Antoine2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very welcomed! The host recommended places to visit/eat. They have a heater in the bedroom which is really nice in a cold night. Hot shower is hot enough for me. Usually it's quiet at night, but there is a rooster across the street and it WILL wake you up 5 am in the morning. We were supposed to get up early everyday so the rooster didn't really bother us. Plus it's really outside of the hosts' territory. Both Chet and Marce are very kind and helpful. Thank you! Tip 1: Ask the hosts where to visit, sometimes they can arrange a taxi for you at LOCAL price instead of TOURISTS-RIPPED-OFF price. (Esp if you can't speak Spanish.) Tip 2: Go to the restaurant he recommends and order the "purple corn drink" (I forgot the local name)! Tip 3: We all know Machu Pichu is your main course in Peru. But if your time allows, stay more than one day in this town and explore the ruins. These are good appetizers before you get into Machu Pichu. Plus it's a good hike to adjust yourself with the altitude (especially hiking on the mountain with the free ruins).

  • Casa Patacalle is a great place to stay! The room is clean, comfortable and the whole property is very nice. The first morning we left for the early train to Machu Picchu and the packed breakfast was great. It kept us full all day until we got back to Ollantaytambo for dinner. The second morning we slept in and enjoyed the fresh breakfast Florence prepared. As others mentioned, the breakfast is awesome! The only negative thing I could think about, is it can be noisy depending on the neighbors (outside the property), but this can be said of most properties in Ollantaytambo. The first night was a bit noisy until around midnight. Second night was very quiet so it just depends on the neighbors. Our room was on the alley side with neighbors across the alley. The balcony room may be quieter since it faces the ruins. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Casa Patacalle and would recommend it to anyone staying in Ollantaytambo. The hosts were wonderful and always helped with any questions or advice.

Full Moon Eco Lodge is the perfect place to experience the true Sacred Valley and the living Inca village of Ollantaytambo. We are located in the heart of Ollantaytambo, but have a peaceful and quiet setting with views of the Sacred Valley.
This room accomadates 1 individual with a large bed. Included in the price is breakfast and use of *NEW IMPROVED WI-FI* in common areas.
  • I wanted to love it here but it was just ok. I was excited about it mostly because of the pictures. They were accurate- it is a very pretty setting. The good: beautiful yard with flowers and hammocks, nicely decorated living quarters with clean sheets, good breakfast, host speaks some English and is nice. The basics were covered. The bad: there was a very loud party nearby that kept us awake (not their fault), it was very cold (August) in the room and breakfast area, the shower was not hot (just lukewarm) and the curtain was too short (making it harder to trap in warmer air and leaving a cold puddle on the floor). We were uncomfortably cold most of the time we were there. Guests don’t have access to laundry facilities. When I asked about laundry, she told me she does it by hand. Because we were leaving the next day, I didn’t want to chance it not being ready in time and we brought it to a lavenderia in town.

  • We didn't notice that there's no wifi here. So we have to go to the restaurant with wifi to use internet. If internet is a concern, this might not be a good option, otherwise it's okay overall.

  • Amazing! We didn’t expect much but ended extending our stay since we enjoyed it so much. We had the room on the room and it’s very peaceful and quiet. At night you can hang outside and look up at the beautiful night sky and bright stars. The internet was a little slow but it worked. The shower had hot water. It’s very close to everything a 4 min walk, literally. Everything was good about this place

Denis was an awesome host. For my first AirBnB experience I couldn't have asked for more. He helped us get taxis, restaurant reservations and provided tons of great insider info to make our San Blas Cusco experience wonderful. We got engaged at Machu Pichu and coming home to this view was perfecto!
