I booked Orfeo for a birthday dinner for my parents, and they were really happy with the quality of the food. Communication beforehand was excellent. Orfeo called to confirm dietary needs, review the menu, and share more about himself. However, on the day, a different chef arrived without notice. One of the pasta courses was missing, candles that were promised were not provided, and the chef was not told it was a surprise, which made the arrival awkward. While the food was delicious, the overall experience felt impersonal. The chef did not set the table, serve the food, or explain the courses. Everything had been pre-cooked and reheated, which made it feel more like catering than a private chef experience. For £80 per person, I had hoped for something more thoughtful and memorable, especially for a special occasion.
