Heart of Serra da Estrela at an altitude of 1437 meters is the largest glacier valley in Europe, the Rossim Valley. It is inserted in the Biogenetic Reserve of Serra da Estrela Natural Park. It has a unique beauty worth valuing and protecting, thus having enormous scientific and environmental value. This lagoon now formed before the dam was built did not exist.
