Matthews Beach is on Lake Washington and is walking distance from Camp Meadowbrook. It is a wonderfull place to cool off in the summer or just take in the view any time of year.

2.1 MILES AWAY Matthews Beach is Seattle's largest freshwater bathing beach. The park is a welcome stop on the Burke-Gilman Trail. Joggers can take a dip in Lake Washington or nap under the boughs of the cedars. It is a popular swimming beach in the summer, although it is also open during winter months. The park also hosts an annual "Polar Bear Plunge" sponsored by Seattle Parks and Recreation on New Year's Day.
