Green Island is a coral cay in the Coral Sea, 27 kilometres off the coast of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park World Heritage Area. Green Island National Park protects the island, which is bordered by a coral reef. The majority of guests come for a single day. On the island, there is a luxury resort with 46 rooms. A variety of vegetation can be found on the island, including dry coastal/beach plants and a vine thicket rain forest. Because the island lacks natural freshwater springs, all flora is reliant on rains and a small freshwater lens beneath the island. Waves deposited sand, coral, and other debris over the island's coral foundations about 6,000 years ago, forming the island. Local Aboriginal language speakers (Roy Banning, Robert Patterson, and Henry Fourmile) stated that the Gungganyji language group is particularly linked to Green Island. It's called that by them.

This is a really unique nature resort, with so many fish! I saw a baby shark without snorkel gear, an amazing experience!
