The mission was started in 1797 and still holds regular mass. There is a memorial garden to Bob hope who is buried here.

It is one the of 21 missions established by Father Junipero Serra his date of birth November 24th 1713 - August 28th 1784 The Mission Grounds are awesome, the Old Church a must to visit
