The Pinnacles hike is a popular one amongst locals and tourists. Roughly a 3hour hike from base to summit with the option of staying over night in the Doc Hut located at the top (book before you go). The start of the walk is located in Thames (Bank St) at the Kauaeranga Visitor Centre.

Famous bush walk to a spectacular summit. You have the choice of tackling it in a day, or there are camping options so you can sleep over to extend the experience. Moderate level of fitness required. Camping spots must be booked in advance.

It's a must do for walkers, hikers, photographers. Check first with the DOC centre for conditions and track availability (me be closed sometimes for maintenance

If you're up for an active adventure, walk up to the top of The Pinnacles. You can stay overnight here in the DoC hut, walk the loop in one day if you're fit enough. Allow 8 hours to do the loop.
