Located on the shores of Lake Washington, this 230-acre park is gorgeous in every season and free to visit. You can walk your dog there, see the fall leaves turning colors, take pictures of the cherry blossom trees blooming in the spring, or bring a picnic when the weather is nice.

You'll find tons of walking and biking trails in the arboretum, as well as lots of beautiful foliage. It's near the 520 bridge, which you can also bike across if you're feeling ambitious.

Beautiful in all seasons, the Arboretum is a local treasure. Lots of trails through forests and gardens, and a wonderful marsh walk that takes you underneath the freeway and out thru the marshlands of Lake Washington. Want to get even closer to the action on the water? Rent a canoe or kayak from the UW Waterfront Center washington.edu/ima/waterfront/boat-rentals/
