The main beach in the village of Calheta. As it is a sand beach (sand imported from Morocco), it gets a bit crowded during summer and is specially popular with families.

Calheta beach is one of two white sand beaches in Madeira and is closest sand beach to Jardim do Mar . Definitely worth seeing
