Sweet Soul Bistro

This place is special to me because the owner, Toya Green, showed resiliency in the sense that she came into an area of the city when no one else would, and she created a phenomenal restaurant. She spent a whole year working on her menu, and when you taste her food, you can tell that she took a year. There’s also a stage, and live music everyday. Everything on the menu is named after a Detroit Motown icon—and ooh, those Aretha Franklin Catfish Bites are so good.
