The Castro

🌈 The Castro is what the city is all about. Love. Welcome to the most colorful district in the city. Rainbow flags, recently renovated Castro Theatre, bronze Rainbow Honor Walk plaques honoring historic LGBTQ+ trailblazers, Cliff's Variety and other curio shops, and of course, drag brunch.
A lively, colorful commercial district filled with LGBTQ+ history, independent boutiques, bookstores, cafés, gift shops, restaurants, and nightlife. Great for strolling and discovering something unique.

The lavish Castro Theatre and the GLBT Historic Museum are also found here, as are homey restaurants and adult shops. On Market Street, 19th-century F-line streetcars head to Fisherman’s Wharf.
