Gibbs Glade Villa is an immaculate, wonderfully tranquil, light and spacious, 4 bed, 4 bath detached villa. Set in fully enclosed, secluded, tropical gardens, around its own pool, in the safe and peaceful neighbourhood of Gibbs Glade. Access controlled gates and CCTV cameras, provide that extra peace of mind. Daily housekeeping, beach towels, bathrobes, ACs, super fast WiFi, cable TVs with Netflix are all included in your fee.

GGV is ideally located for the discerning traveler on the 'platinum' west coast, between Speightstown (5 mins) and Holetown (10 mins). It is within easy walking distance of 2 glorious beaches and at least 4 restaurants/beach bars, plus a 24 hour convenience store.
As we are situated off the coast road, its very quiet (no road noise!)
Please note that there is a mandatory government stay tax of 10% of the nightly rate that is payable, by the person making the booking. Airbnb does not currently allow this to be automatically added with the booking as other sites do. Instead, this needs to be paid in cash on arrival, or via card through this system, once you have checked in.
The open plan layout of this single story property is ideal for multi-generational family holidays as well as couples getaways. The villa offers a pleasing inside/out living experience with plentiful relaxed seating and ambient alfresco dining overlooking the pool and well lit gardens - a striking backdrop to your evening dining and a wonderful outlook for your marvelously relaxed breakfasts, lunches and chilled days just lounging around the pool and terraces and slouching about on the outside furniture.
Vaulted ceilings throughout afford a light and airy feeling, assisted by the gentle trade winds, which help keep the villa nicely cool. To capitalise on these, there are ceiling fans in every room, as well as on the rear verandah. For the comfort of our guests, there is air conditioning in each bedroom for sleeping (night time temperatures in Barbados are only about 5 degrees less than day time!) .

GIBBS & MULLINS BEACHES:
The hidden gem that is Gibbs Bay with its calm, crystal clear Caribbean waters is tucked away within a short (4 mins) stroll, whilst Mullins beach is just a 5 minute walk, via a short cuts, or 6 and 10 minutes the road way. Both the idyllic Reeds Bay and the livelier Alleyenes Bay beaches are both within a ten minute drive
POOL & GARDENS:
Set in a third of an acre with a distinctive palm tree perimeter, the carefully tended, tropical gardens surround an attractive, well maintained 20 foot circular swimming pool, with sun loungers, tables and chairs. There are parasols and natural shade provided by the palms, when you need to take a break from the rays and there's an outside shower by the pool for freshening up. This east-facing oasis enjoys all day sun as well as gentle breezes. Keep an eye out for the humming bird who is a regular afternoon visitor and maybe even a monkey or two will pass by......
The grounds are fully enclosed and the whole exterior of the property is frequently fumigated to keep mosquitoes at bay. There are electric mosquito zappers on the rear terrace, plus netting on all windows. Access controlled gate entry, together with all-night 360 degree security lighting combined with infrared CCTV provides that extra peace of mind.
MASTER BEDROOM has a Super King size bed, large fitted pickled pine closets, with central vanities provide ample space for clothes and their is a digital safe. Double French doors opening to the rear verandah, overlook the pool and gardens. The en-suite bathroom has a large corner shower, with basin and WC. There is a magnifying retractable wall mirror, hairdryer and bathrobes. We supply tissues, cosmetic pads, soap and shower gel. Solar heated hot water is plentiful, provide by newly installed twin tanks.
QUEEN BEDROOM has a King size bed, with doors opening onto the front verandah, overlooking the enclosed gardens and yard to the front. The en-suite bathroom has a large corner shower, with basin and WC. There is a magnifying retractable wall mirror, hairdryer and bathrobes. We supply tissues, cosmetic pads, soap and shower gel.
TWIN ROOM has two US sized single beds, (which may be pushed together for couples), with French doors opening onto the front verandah, overlooking the enclosed gardens and yard to the front and uses the large family bathroom next door, which has a shower over bath, with basin and WC. There is a magnifying retractable wall mirror, hairdryer and bathrobes. We supply tissues, cosmetic pads, soap and shower gel.
The GARDEN SUITE is set out on its own by the pool area and has a double bed (a US Full), opening directly onto the pool and gardens. The en-suite bathroom has a large shower, with basin and WC. There is a magnifying retractable wall mirror, hairdryer and bathrobes. We supply tissues, cosmetic pads, soap and shower gel.
All bedrooms are super-comfortable, replete with lovely furnishings and linens. A foldaway bed for young children, a travel crib with mosquito net and a highchair for infants can be arranged upon request, at no extra cost.
KITCHEN: is well-equipped has modern appliances including a multi-function electric oven with ceramic hob, large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, blender, juicer, toaster and a washing machine, exclusively for guest use. There's a large multi-burner gas barbecue on the rear terrace and a 40" Hi-Def flat screen TV with cable package above the granite breakfast bar. There's a portable Bose bluetooth speaker in the living room and super fast broadband (WiFi) throughout the villa.
The STUDIO near the pool houses a 55" curved ultra HD TV with full cable, Netflix and DVD player, comfy leather sofa, rowing machine, exercise bike, light weights and yoga mats. There's a basketball hoop on the fully enclosed front yard where there is parking for 4+ cars.
The authentic Speightstown, full of Caribbean charm, is approx 5 mins by car with the more vibrant Holetown with the stylish Lime Grove housing designer shopping, chattel village and numerous restaurants just 10 mins drive away.
A car is recommended, but by no means essential. Our guests get a 15% with one of the leading car rental companies. Alternatively there is a bus stop 7 mins walk and taxis are readily available at reasonable cost. The villa has a preferred local taxi service.
LOCAL SUPERMARKETS/RESTAURANTS/FISH MARKET:
There are a couple of supermarkets within an easy drive (Massy in Holetown and Jordans in Speightstown) and a 24/7 petrol station within walking distance (500 meters) which has a wide selection of convenience items available. The local fish market 7 mins drive, plus numerous restaurants and bars, all located within a short drive GGV. Both Mullins and Bombas restaurants are within walking distance.
Housekeeping and Gardening is usually Monday to Friday and the pool is tended twice weekly. As the villa and grounds has lots of space, the presence of discrete GGV staff should never impinge upon our guests privacy. Our villa manager is on hand at all times for any queries you might have.
GUEST ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES:
Our guests will be met by our delightful housekeeper Sophia and excellent villa manager Deborah on arrival, who will show guests around the property and go over the workings of everything. They will give you your keys, gate access codes and fob. We do not enforce a set check-in/check-out time, but broadly speaking, its around 12:00 and 16:00. However, we aim for your last day to be as relaxed as your first, so we will always try to accommodate late departures, whenever we can. You will want to leave the villa 3 hours before your flight departure.
GGV is primarily a family place and regrettably we seldom rent to groups, we do not rent to groups under 40 years old, nor wedding parties. We do not permit events, or smoking inside the house..
GOVERNMENT STAY TAXES:
The Government of Barbados have introduced room levies which apply to all visitors staying in all paid accommodation on the island and is charged at 10% of the nightly villa rental rate. Whilst the stay levy applies to the guest and not the property, the government has made the property owner legally responsible for the collection of this room levy to the Barbados Revenue Authority. Airbnb does not currently allow this mandatory fee to get added to your booking, so I will confirm the amount to you in advance and send this as a payment request once you've checked in.

Located between Speightstown (2.5 k) and Holetown (5 k), in the established, upscale neighbourhood known as Gibbs Glade. The idyllic Gibbs Beach/Gibbes Bay (perfect for swimming, easy to get in & out of sea, no coral or steep banks) is accessible on foot via a short 4 mins cut through with the livelier Mullins Beach (with its bar/restaurant, water sports & loungers, essential spot for lunch and/or a sundowner!) 5 mins walk via a similar cut through.
The authentic Speightstown, full of Caribbean charm, is approx 5 mins by car with the more vibrant Holetown with the luxurious Lime Grove centre housing designer shopping, state of the art cinema with affordable eateries and trendy bar 10 mins by car.
There is an excellent local fish market and fruit & veg stall 5 mins away (barbecue on pool terrace). Numerous excellent restaurants and bars are all located within a short drive of the villa and a couple, Mullins and Bombas are within walking distance.
The villa is close to many classy restaurants as well as more traditional bars restaurants and rum shops with authentic, tasty and cheap Bajan cuisine. Some are within easy walking distance. Of course you can always pick up some freshly caught fish from one of the many local fish stalls (closest being 3 mins drive) which you can grill on the gas barbecue and enjoy al fresco in the tranquil ambience of the well lit pool, terrace and gardens, or take advantage of the chef services available, where you can enjoy excellent cuisine in the comforts of your own home. Shopping, table service and clear down all included in the reasonable fee. What more could you want......
