The VIEW! This house was one of my favorite AirBnBs I’ve ever stayed. Quiet & Private - no neighbors in sight. Kitchen appliances and showers were luxury. 30 mins from Asheville. Hosts gave us eggs & honey from the chickens & bees at check in and were very responsive & helpful. My Honda Civic crossed the creek on a rainy day so your car can make it too. We hiked right outside the front door and relaxed in the hot tub after. Can’t say enough good things about this home. 10/10

A rustic retreat in the mountains! The deck, views and hot tub were as relaxing as described, and would definitely come back to explore more hiking. Proximity to Hatley Pointe was ideal for our ski trip and the fireplace was perfect to warm up after a day on the slopes.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and so serene. It was a short weekend simply to spend quality time with family in the mountains. The lay out of the cabin was perfect and the beds were comfortable and cozy. There were several board games we enjoyed and the pool table was a huge plus. Our stay was accommodating for the Grandchildren. Also, the coffee station was also very nice. We packed all the food and drinks we needed and didn’t need to leave the cabin during our stay.

Sleepy Bear is a magical place to rest and get away from the suburban crawl. The property is amazing with rolling green hills and flowering trees surrounding it. The house is a spacious, exposed wood wonder that was very comfortable. It has everything you need from a playroom downstairs for the kids and an outdoor hot tub for doing some star gazing without the hue of city lights. Wifi was a bit on the slow side, but it helped us to detox from our devices for a few days. Would definitely return to Sleepy Bear next time we visit.

Taylor communicated well with me and was responsive. Although the area has had a devastating hurricane the area was easy to get in and out. Certainly a fine place for relaxing and getting away. Definitely would stay again.

We were a party of 3 adults and two toddlers. A little tricky to get to, but the clear instructions helped. We loved the location, the peaceful surroundings, the fireplace, the hot tub and the little stream at the back. The kids enjoyed splashing in it.

Loved everything about our stay here! It is so beautiful and peaceful. The house was a perfect fit for our family to come together and was extremely clean. We had everything we needed and more! The information provided and Josh’s responsive communication made this vacation so enjoyable and relaxing. The kids loved the treehouse and the goats were everyone’s favorite. This is definitely a place to visit and stay for as long as you can!

We loved our stay here. The cabin was even more charming than the photos portray, and Dan was a thoughtful and responsive host with great hiking recommendations and knowledge of the area. Cannot recommend this place enough!

It was a wonderful relaxing stay. I wish I could have stayed longer and had a chance to explore the area more. comfy bed and soft leather chair by the fireplace. note: house is allllll the way up the mtn so keep going in you are arriving after dark. the house is at the end as far as you can go up.

This cozy cabin was perfect for a last minute get away with my partner! We needed to get out of the city and find a quiet place to relax. At the end of the weekend we didn’t want to leave. This cabin has everything you need to feel right at home. Location is private and not too far from Asheville for a fun day trip. Andrew was very responsive and gave clear instructions from the home itself as well as its surroundings. An unexpected storm knocked out the power for a few hours and Andrew came to check in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. We would absolutely love to come back!

My friends and I had such a relaxing four day stay at the cabin. We had coffee on the porch, did puzzles, sat around the bonfire. Easy access to the city. Beautiful location. Excellent communication with the hosts!

Cannot say how much we loved this place! Scandi design in gorgeous peaceful setting! (Hammock naps are a thing!) Will definitely be back!

This place is BEAUTIFUL. The views are breathtaking and the home is private and cozy. Matthew responded quickly to any questions and even gave local recommendations for restaurants! We will definitely plan to come back!

We had a fabulous stay. The house was immaculate and probably the best equipped we’ve ever stayed in. Thoughtful hosts had provided everything from kids books and play equipment to every possible kitchen gadget and utensil. The sunset was spectacular and once everyone had finished playing in the games room, we spent an hour star-gazing. Great mountain hikes nearby too. Only wish we could have stayed a bit longer!

We had an amazing visit for our anniversary. The cabin was perfect for us - spacious but cozy, and very private! It was a difficult driveway to ascend after rain, so we had to park at the lower part of the drive, but it was not bad for us. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but the rest of the home more than made up for a little sore back! We would return in a heartbeat.

The hideout was very clean and cute. The on demand shower made me nervous but worked very well once you realize how it works. The whole experience was a great one. Thanks again guys

Fantastic cabin with beautiful views. So much space and things to do both in the house and around the area. Madison and everyone were super responsive and amendable. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Our family enjoyed the private location nested on a beautiful river only a short drive to Mt. Mitchell. Burnsville has plenty to enjoy or you can check out Asheville as well. We spent most of our time hiking the Mt. Mitchell State Park and driving the Blueridge Parkway (a must see). Then relaxed at the well stocked house which felt just like home. We cooked most of our meals in the well stocked kitchen, walked and rafted the river, and played the many games inside when it was raining. We will definitely check availability for the next trip we plan to this area. Sean communicated throughout the trip clearly and let us know they were available if necessary. No pressure to respond as we didn't have cell service up on Mt. Mitchell.

Heather and Scott was great and their place is super awesome. I love the serene and quietness of this place, it's a beautiful surrounding for nature lovers. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

We got to live through Hurricane Helene while staying at the cabin. It was a surreal experience. We learned that the community residents in Big Ridge are very friendly and helpful. All the neighbors came together to help each other and received us with open arms and helped us in every way they could. The roads were cleared of debris quickly and we were able to get home within a few days of the storm passing. The property owners checked on us as soon as they could and were as well extremely accommodating. Despite the difficulty experience, I would return to this cabin in the future for sure. The cabin has all the essential you would expect and it’s a great value. It’s perfect for hikes in the Black Mountains, such as Mt. Mitchell.
