Wendale Barn is a beautifully renovated, compact, detached building, the perfect place to relax on the edge of Cheddar. With private patio, decking & stunning views of the local lake & Glastonbury Tor. Private, romantic, the ideal getaway, with a double bed upstairs & sofa-bed in the living room; although it is open plan, so the shared space isn’t private. Access is via a series of steps up the hillside, some garden terraces are up to 1.1m high without guardrails, there is also a shallow pond.

Wedmore village with 3 pubs, deli, Indian, cafe and shops is only 1.3 miles away. Cheddar Gorge/Mendip Hills are a short drive, Wells, Glastonbury, Bristol too. A private and rural location in the pretty village of Wedmore makes this the perfect location to explore the beautiful Somerset countryside and historic towns and villages in the area. Wedmore is situated on the edge of the Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels, and is close to three incredible nature reserves as well as Cheddar Gorge, Wells and Glastonbury. This is a great place for bird watchers and wildlife lovers, with excellent opportunities for walking and cycling right from the front door!

Doris our shepherds hut

Doris our shepherd's hut is nestled in our paddock and meadow on the Somerset levels and has lovely views over neighbouring fields. It is close but not too close to our other hut Daphne and our annexe room Huberts. We are keen to encourage flora and fauna and manage the paddock accordingly. We are situated on the outskirts of a small village and the edge of the Somerset levels. We are ideally situated for sightseeing around Somerset. Daphne our other hut is also in the paddock.

Also moments away from three great pubs and several charming cafes and eateries. Wedmore is a stunning central location from which to explore all of Somerset.

Traditional Shepherds Hut with a back to basics feel, privately situated in our quiet, walled garden, on the sunny slopes of the Mendip Hills. A stones throw from the famous Cheddar Gorge and Cliffs . Access to lovely walks and bike trails direct from your door , and yet a short stroll to pubs , cafes and restaurants. Wood stoves for those chillier nights to keep things cosy , we provide all wood/kindling . You will need to manage the stove yourself , a relatively easy task .

Close to easy travel links with a bus stop a short walk away, but a quiet secluded setting with lovely gardens, paddocks and stables with friendly equine residents including Bluey the miniature pony.
