The creek is approximately 3 ft deep at the bottom of the waterfall. The property is surrounded by State Forest. If the apartment gets rented, the rest of the house is blocked from being rented. My farm is 8 miles from Brevard and a 45 min. drive to downtown Asheville. I am nestled between Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Forest, which means unlimited hiking, waterfalls, swimming, kayaking and fishing. Cyclers will enjoy being on one of the many routes, while mountain bikers can enjoy forest trails and challenge themselves to the Oskar Blues Reeb Ranch. Equestrian folks can avail themselves to our local horse boarders and ride in both forests. There is something for everyone!

This cabin is 1 of 2 on our property. This is the closest rental property to Dupont State Park at only a quarter of a mile from the entrance. Offering its own private Hot-Tub, sauna, and fire pit along a creak, this property is one of a kind! Our cabin is located 15 minutes from downtown Brevard and 20 minutes from downtown Hendersonville which both offer lots of local shops and dinning. Our cabin offers a peaceful retreat and is the perfect place for anyone that loves the outdoors!!

Cottage at Gear Down

Southern Comfort at it's finest. Country living with easy access to all the art, music, and food that Brevard has to offer. Perfect for mountain bikers and hikers! Just twenty minutes to downtown and 10 minutes to Dupont State Forest. We took the 1950 cabin, home to the legendary bootlegger Clyde McCall, lifted it up and put a new footer, foundation, and sun room addition. Next, we set it back down and totally refurbished from the studs out. Everything is new inside and out.

This family friendly, private retreat sits on a gently flowing creek under the shadows of Cold Mountain and the Art Loeb Trail. You may want to sit on the covered porch or deck while listening to the creek. If you love the outdoors or are a hiking enthusiast, our cabin is for you. We are about 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Waynesville, Canton, Maggie Valley, and Lake Junaluska are approximately 30 minutes away; a 45-minute drive will take you to Asheville.
