Sweet Japan: Make Mochi & Dorayaki, Enjoy with Matcha making

At my cozy kitchen, you’ll learn how to make traditional and delicious Japanese confectionery (wagashi), including namagashi (fresh sweets) and yakigashi (baked treats), along with preparing matcha tea. • Make four types of wagashi with my step-by-step guidance: tricolor dango (three-colored sweet rice dumplings), fresh fruit daifuku (fresh fruit wrapped in soft mochi rice cake), mochi ice cream (demonstration only), and dorayaki (sweet red bean pancake sandwiches). You’ll even emboss your dorayaki with a traditional hot stamp design! • Before we get hands-on, I’ll share insights into the cultural significance and techniques behind each Japanese treat. •At the end of the lesson, you’ll have the chance to experience a short tea ceremony, where you’ll learn how to prepare matcha by whisking it yourself and enjoy it alongside the sweets you made. If you prefer, you can also choose green tea or hojicha instead. You’ll leave with a satisfied sweet tooth and new skills inspired by Japan’s rich wagashi tradition.

The facility features symbolic items related to Japanese national alcoholic beverages, including large wooden barrel displays and various tools, along with exhibitions of sake vessels from various regions. Visitors can also sample approximately 100 varieties of Japanese sake, Honkaku Shochu, and Mirin which items change almost every month. 新宿で居酒屋グルメ体験

We will explore the greater part of Shinjuku, the busiest area in Tokyo to show you popular spots as well as hidden gems. We'll have a couple of bites during the city walk. We'll then head to two izakaya restaurants that are popular among the locals. Places we visit range from modern to traditional, and if you are looking to try just ramen and sushi, this might not be the right one for you. Throughout the evening, we’ll taste different Japanese foods and drinks, learn about our pub food culture and history, and spend time with other foodies. Also, we offer an optional sake tasting session where we will try 5+ different craft & seasonal sake at our own sake bar in Shinjuku before the tour at 3:30pm (optional & price not included). *We may have extra spots available even if you don't see availability. LET'S GET OUT OF THE TOURIST AREA where it is overpriced and crowded with tourists! This tour focuses on Ueno, which is not as crowded as Shibuya, Shinjuku and is less touristy. It’s popular with the Japanese for eating and drinking at any time. I'm going to take you to popular taverns and restaurants for ONLY LOCALS (NO TOURISTS!!) where the staff speaks only Japanese. I will order signature dishes and please ask me any questions. I’ll discuss not only Japanese food and drinks but also culture, traditions and history, which will be beneficial for the rest of your stay in Japan for sure! We will visit several restaurants/taverns/bar in total, where you will sample sashimi, grilled fish and skewered meat, etc. You will also have the opportunity to try UNIQUE Japanese alcoholic drinks! (5 or more different type of drinks) You'll be able to experience what Japanese taverns are like. The tour starts in the retro izakaya area Omoide Yokocho, the nostalgic alleyway filled with great places to eat. It's a short walk to Kabukicho, Japan's biggest red-light entertainment district, where interesting shops and characters will make an impression on you. Next, we enter the Golden Gai district, a delightful eclectic maze of over 200 bars and pubs unlike anywhere in the world. Along the way, we stop for a bite to eat in Omoide Yokocho, explore Kabukicho, and have a drink in Golden Gai. We continue our walk back through Kabukicho to the starting point. Or guests can keep exploring and enjoying the night. 寿司づくり体験

There are various kinds of sushi, but we will make 5 kinds thi time (Nigiri sushi, Tamagyaki-sushi, winding winding, manual winding, fine winding). Generally there are two kinds of hand grips (kotegaeshi/tategaeshi). I will make sushi by this method. Becuase my shop is a shop that last 100 years, I have inherited the technology you will experienced it. Let's grab it in a sushi craftmanship. And let's make goals that sushi can be made even if yo return home! Let me eat lunch together because I also hold a sushi for you. And if there is something you want to know abot sushi, I will gladly answer. Other things to note There's nothing special to prepare. Please come with casual clothes.
