Take a two-mile walk with me, a writer on Los Angeles, through Echo Park on an art and writing pilgrimage through one of Los Angeles’ most culturally rich neighborhoods. As we walk, I’ll invite you to respond creatively to what you’re experiencing primarily through photography. • At the boathouse, we'll go over the inspiration for the route we’ll take. Dive into Napa's unexpected past with a local historian at a beloved brewery. I am the author of four books about Napa‘s history. I have picked a historic brewery overlooking the Napa river for us to think about what this region used to look like and how it has changed. You will be getting a map to walkable historic sites downtown, along with a signed copy of my book. We will be overlooking the steamboat routes that carried sheep and cattle, fruit and leather products between Napa and San Francisco. Those boats also brought mental patients to Napa’s asylum, and I will talk about what that asylum offered. ad we overlook what was once Napa‘s Chinatown, you’ll learn about the marching band and the Chinese temple. You’ll be able to imagine the railroads that once traveled up the valley as you hear the whistle of today’s wine train. As you sip beer and munch on appetizers, you’ll be able to see the beautiful mountains that circle the valley and I’ll describe the stage coaches that once took travelers into those mountains.

Paint Watercolor with a Local Artist

You will have the opportunity to paint iconic San Francisco images in watercolor with an experienced artist and teacher. Beginners are welcome and all materials are included, you'll walk away with your own personal masterpiece! My name is James Gleeson and I am a multi faceted, local San Francisco Artist who specializes in local scenes of San Francisco. My work reflects both academic discipline and creative artistic freedom. My studio is located in the Bernal Heights/Mission district where I display my work and share my passion for art with others. This is where I paint and teach my classes, you will be immersed by iconic images and paintings of San Francisco. We do a different theme each class and I prepare an individual drawing for each student on watercolor paper. All students are provided materials and a spacious place to work. We will do a quick round of introductions and I'll explain our theme and painting in a beginner friendly step by step process. I will explain and demonstrate each step for students to paint each segment of the painting. You will learn basic water color technique as well as color and design methods. I am very excited to host you and to provide this artistic experience. As a teacher I love working with beginners and seeing their inspiration for art grow. You will learn technical skills to take home and continue your painting. See you soon!

For the past 50 years, the walls of San Francisco’s Mission District have served as vibrant canvases for graffiti artists and muralists. For 25 of those years, I’ve contributed my own work to this colorful tapestry. Join me on a walking tour of the neighborhood’s most iconic alley, where I’ll introduce you to my murals and other standout pieces. • Starting Point: We’ll meet at my studio/gallery, where I’ll share stories from my journey as an artist. I will make sure that you get the perfect photos to show off your trip to Las Vegas. I will also share local insider tips for restaurants, shows, and off-Strip hidden gems. We will start by meeting at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, where we will capture the perfect photo of the iconic Bellagio fountains (with the Eiffel Tower in the background). We will then cross Las Vegas Blvd and get a wide angle shot of the Eiffel Tower. Our tour will continue to the Flamingo Habitat for a must-have shot with the High Roller in the background. We will then make our way towards Caesar's Palace, where we will get photos with the Trevi Fountain. We will finish off with some shots in front of the Venetian Hotel and the famous gondolas. This tour will be conducted by walking (approximately a mile and a half from start to finish). We'll explore some of the hidden treasures of the Los Angeles River's Glendale Narrows section. Full of birds, bugs and plants, it's a photogenic stretch with the dynamic and vibrant neighborhood of Frogtown just above. The LA River Corgis - Kasha and Chase - will also be on hand for their cameos. You will be outdoors and likely moving the entire time, which makes this an ideal outing for COVID times. It varies with each group, but our route is usually 1 1/2 to 2 miles. Your guide, Anthea Raymond, is a long-time resident and kayaker active in the River communities. From the adjacent bike path and pocket parks, she'll tell you about the the unique landscape and history of the river -- the birthplace of Los Angeles. She will also take you inside the soft-bottom riverbed. You will also get the inside scoop on the creative businesses popping up next to the river as well as as plans to create a world class park there. Other things to note: Wear your walking shoes. Bring a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, and, of course, your smartphone or camera! We'll provide the corgi treats. Be ready for some corgi hugs and kisses. Feel like raising the adventure level? Let us know and we can schedule special routes that take you to the LA River's yet-untamed left bank. These walks would meet at different locations and might include a stop at a former train yard.

ルーケディアビーチ沿いでサイクリングツアー

We will be touring the beach viewpoints and landmarks of the funky beach town Leucadia on beach cruiser bikes or ebikes. The route is almost all flat and user friendly for everyone. We will start your tour on Neptune Avenue which is a coastal street in Leucadia. Along this street are five different viewpoints overlooking the Pacific Ocean. These are some of the most iconic destinations in Encinitas. Upon meeting on the south end of Neptune Avenue, I will supply you with a bike. We will then proceed to bike to each viewpoint where you can snap a few photos while I explain a little history about each beach. Once we see the last viewpoint at the end of Neptune, we’ll make our way down to Coast Highway 101 where we will proceed our adventure. There are a series of restaurants and breweries along Coast Highway 101 to choose from if you want to grub. Along Coast Highway we will stop at a few historical businesses. Then we’ll head towards our last secret viewpoint called The Eagles Nest which overlooks Moonlight Beach. Lastly we will head back to our starting point concluding your tour.
