Our Curious | Opossum Hollow

Welcome to Opossum Hollow in the quaint mountain town of Travelers Rest! Our partially restored 1984 Airstream Excella, lovingly referred to as `Possum Holler', is situated on the same property as our home. With a covered space for parking and a 35 foot skylight deck, this outdoor space is designed for cool evening lounging and warm afternoon napping. We worked with a number of local artisans to design and create the entire space, ensuring most every element is handmade, upcycled, and recycled!

Little House on the Quarry

We’d like to invite you to the “Little House on the Quarry.” We purchased this old rock quarry and it hasn’t been mined since 1968. The water is crystal clear blue and up to 75ft deep. It has rock walls up to 100ft high. The camping is completely secluded with breathtaking views and an outdoor shower. There is a walking trail that leads to another lookout with a rose garden. This isn’t like anything you’ll find in GA. Access to the quarry/water is available for an additional fee upon arrival.

With your own deck facing west towards the pond you can enjoy beautiful sunsets and the sounds of our animals around you. Please note that there is no wifi or cable tv in the getaway. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway located on 100 acres and nestled quietly on a private pond. The house was originally built in 1921 and in 2018 we had the house moved down to the pond and did a full renovation while preserving as much original character as we could. Enjoy your morning coffee and watch the sunrise from the screen porch swing or one of the docks at the pond. The property has nature trails to explore, fishing, and plenty of wildlife.
