Our second-floor hideaway is the perfect perch for exploring downtown Wilmington and nearby beaches! Located in one of Wilmington's most sought-after neighborhoods, and popular with the film industry as a shooting location, this area is rich in film and television history! This one-bedroom with a dedicated office, efficiency kitchen, and mid-century modern bathroom is nestled in the upstairs back corner of our historic home, circa 1910, steps from the Cargo District, & a short walk to downtown!

1-Bedroom Shipping Container Plant-Home

It's a shipping container! A cozy, actually luxurious 1-bedroom home with a hand-made walnut counter-top and plants everywhere, bringing a bit of nature indoors. A reverse osmosis drinking water system, 55-inch television, full-size refrigerator, full-size bed with Tuft-and-Needle mattress. There are outdoor cats that visit, Grey Cat lives in the forest in the front yard and cat food is available. The neighbor might ask you for a dollar, don't do it! This place to stay is truly one of a kind.

Bamboo Bungalow * 1 BR Suite with Private Entrance

This guest suite consists of one bedroom (King bed) and a full bath. The private entrance is located on the front porch and the space is closed off from rest of the home. Space does not include a living room or kitchen. but there is a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker, comfortable sitting space, and a large porch to relax. There is also an air purifier in the room- with HEPA filtration, removing 99.9 of all particles in the air. The space is the size of an average hotel room.

Centrally-located on the beautiful Cape Fear Coast, the PalmTreeHut is a charmingly-renovated Mid-Century garage that has preserved its authentic industrial/automotive charm, nestled among palm trees, with easy access to the Wilmington Riverfront, beaches, microbreweries, shops and natural beauty! As an extension of the tropically-themed PalmTreeHouse upstairs apartment, you may book the PalmTreeHut simultaneously for parties of four, or go solo on your Wilmington excursion.

The Bird’s Nest- Private Attic Apartment

The ceilings range from 6 ft 5", dipping lower at the roof lines! Private entrance on the side of the home. 1 mile from the downtown riverwalk, 8 miles from Wrightsville Beach, & in the center of the inner-city/downtown area. The historic Market Street is 2 blocks over, which heads both downtown & to the beach.

Our container home, custom built for us, was designed to meet our need for a guest house that took advantage of a small footprint while offering maximum comfort & amenities. We are centrally located halfway between Wrightsville Beach and downtown Wilmington. It is a perfect spot, private and quiet, with easy access to I-40, Market Street and College Road. Wrightsville Beach: 5 miles Downtown: 6 miles UNCW: 3 miles Mayfaire: 2 miles

The Enchanted Forest with Private Hot Tub

PARTY POLICY: The Great Escape is nestled in a very quiet neighborhood and no parties of any kind are permitted. Violations of our house rules such as excessive noise, smoking inside, or extra guests will lead to a fine of $250, cancellation of your reservation, and your immediate removal from the property. If this is not an issue, please send a request or instant book. We would love to host you!

ILM King Bed, Private Entry, Downtown and events

This studio guest house has a private entrance with pond and pool view from the room. The cover photo is one of Wilmingtons sunrise at the beach. This cozy room has a comfortable King bed, 1 pull out sofa couch. Your own private bath stocked with towels and mini toiletries if you forget them. The neighborhood is very quite and safe. I have a coffee maker and cups for the morning cup of joe!!

The Lake Cottage

The Lake Cottage is located across the street from Greenfield Lake. It is a 3 minute walk to the Amphitheater and 9 minute walk to the Park Center with boat rental, playground, skakeboard park, and Pickleball Courts. There is a 4.5 paved trail that runs around the lake across the street. The Lake Cottage lies down its own private walkway and has a fairly-land feel about it.
