Peaceful location and just the right size. We enjoyed our time sitting on the porch reading, eating and just rocking in the large rocking wooden rocking chairs while chatting. We watched the ducks and geese on the lake. In the evenings, we could see the turtles stick their heads out of the water. Although there was lots to do, we only took advantage of the pools. If you are someone who wants to be doing something and planning activities to keep little ones busy, you have lots of options at the resort where this cabin is located.

Scott was super from the minute we booked until after we left - offering suggestions as well as early check in and late checkout. Place was great and close to wineries as well as Harper’s ferry!

Herry's place was beautifully decorated and very clean. The projector felt like we were in a theater watching a movie. It was perfect for movie night and our snacks from the general store nearby. The hot tub was winner and so easy to use! His guidebook was very useful to find great recommendations for places to eat. Overall, it was a great weekend getaway for the family.

This home was lovely! The host clearly takes great care to keep the home stocked with essentials. The kitchen was fully stocked; including plenty of coffee for the coffee pot. I’ve never stayed in an AirBNB with as many towels as they provided which is a small luxury but something our group noted and really appreciated. The host sent clear instructions and was proactive and friendly. The roads to the home may be difficult to navigate in inclement weather, but we got lucky with wonderful, warm weather! If your vehicle doesn’t travel well on back roads, I would just be cautious in the area. I would definitely stay here again, this home is a hidden gem!?

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin in Purcellville. The setting is very private and tranquil. We spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoor accommodations. Inside, there is a very charming older portion to the house, and then added to that older portion is an addition, tastefully done to try and complement the original section. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. Check in was easy, and the host, Ashley, was quick to respond and very helpful. I would recommend Ashley’s home to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Absolutely beautiful house and very peaceful location. Loved our stay. A lot of nice features for a large family. So many different areas and things to do that it doesn’t feel crowded. Theatre room, arcade game room, hot tub, 2 different outdoor fire pits, gazebo, hammock, Walking trail….. Will definitely visit again!

Stayed here for a couple of days on a solo trip, just to get out of town and do some writing in a quiet place. And while it absolutely delivered everything I needed on that front, this would be a fantastic spot for a family getaway or a friends' reunion! Spacious, super comfortable, clean, and most of all, picturesque! The outdoor spaces are wonderful for nighttime drinks around the fire pit (loved the hanging strings of lights in particular to give it that charm), and there's great spaces for grilling and dining outdoors too. Plenty of bedroom space for a large group--especially if you have a lot of kids--and the indoor movie theater and game room would be fantastic for keeping everyone entertained. Highly recommended!

This place could not be more perfect for our trip to DC. It was the perfect distance to the metro. Our group of 8 had so much space of our own, yet plenty of room to be together in the common spaces and not be on top of each other! We went in the coldest month of the year, so unfortunately we didn’t get to experience the best of what the outdoor areas had to offer but the views were breathtaking regardless. Melanie’s place was extremely clean and everything was provided and then some! Everyone in our group would like to go back in warmer months to spend more time outside. Before we got there, Melanie explained that there was an issue with one of the sinks in the cabins and said she would credit us accordingly. I thought that was great! It did not hinder or create a problem whatsoever! I hope we get to make it back sometime!

My significant other and I cannot say enough how thrilled we were with our stay in Shannondale. The view of the mountains from the deck was unbeatable, including a direct view of the sunsets. The cabin had every amenity that we could have asked for (and that we forgot to bring ourselves)! The comfort of the bed exceeded expectations, and I slept better here than in my bed at home. The hosts were very responsive, proactively sending instructions via the Airbnb app for check in and check out. I would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with a view.

The setting and the log cabin were absolutely beautiful as described. James was a wonderful host and had everything we needed. We actually never needed to contact him. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to just relax and enjoy the beauty. There were lots of nice places to eat in the areaas well as recreation. Thank you for everything.

This is such a nice spot if someone wants to get away from a suburban/city enviroment. Super cozy vibes and the hosts were kind and checked in on us while we were there during a snow storm. Overall highly recommend. Very private and comfortable cabin experience.

We loved our experience at John’s cabin! It was so incredibly peaceful - our host could not have been more friendly & helpful, even on a holiday weekend, the woods were beautiful surrounding the lovely cabin on a hill, and the beds were comfy. We definitely wished we were staying longer than a weekend!

Abby’s place was perfect for us. We were there for Easter weekend with 7 people (family of 6 plus a friend). The house is very recently renovated and the finishes are very nice (tile in bathroom, hard surface kitchen counters). The place makes the most use of its space, with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is a nice large TV in the living room. The views are great. There is a large yard, an outside deck and a fire pit. It’s up some steep roads and accessed by a gravel road at the end. Access is fine for most any type of car in nice weather, though that might be different in the winter. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils and cooking pots/pans. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

We found this hidden gem and needed a place to stay on a longer timeframe than normal for an average AirBnB stay. Rafael was amazing to discuss our needs and how he could accommodate us. We were allowed to bring our dogs with us, which made it feel like home. The home was cozy and well stocked with the needed amenities. The neighborhood was quiet and full of wildlife. The neighbors are also very pleasant and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and commuted to DC for work. The home is a quick 20 minute drive to University Lot to use the Omni ride bus service with free parking. We highly recommend this home if you are looking for a peaceful getaway or a stay with any easy 1 hours commute to the city.

Great host and great place. Perfect location for all the restaurants. I don't think we had to drive more than 5 minutes to get to anywhere we ate. Food scene was absolutely wonderful. looking forward to coming back.

This is a beautiful place! The views and property were as described - lovely view of nearby winery's grape vines and mountains. The cabin was well thought out for hanging out at the property with a nice big front porch for dining and a patio with a fire pit. Loved the pew-style bench dining nook. The place was very clean and the fresh cookies s'mores and other treats were a really nice welcoming touch. One thing to keep in mind is that there isn't a TV in the main room (there are TVs in the bedrooms) so something to keep in mind if you're gathering to watch the big game. Overall would definitely stay here again!

This was a beautiful cabin tucked away in a serene community. The cabin was well stocked with towels, linens, and kitchen utensils. We appreciated the cozy atmosphere and fireplace. Every room served its purpose well and was extremely inviting. Our kids enjoyed the hammock and running around in the back yard without getting too close to the water. It felt safe, calm, and very homely. The internet connection was great! Whatever we forgot to bring for the kitchen was already there. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for being a wonderful host and so responsive. The property exceeded our expectations!

Idalma was a very great host. Beautiful property filled with green space. There are places to go for entertainment very close by. Also is very peaceful at night! Highly recommend and will happily book again in the near future!

The photos don’t do justice to the experience. A stunning lake view in a cabin setting with tons of fun for the kids. We canoed on the lake, threw the football, cooked a steak meal and ended the evening with s’mores. All of this with driving distance from the beltway for an amazing staycation. I will definitely be back for a weekend getaway from the weekly grind.

Wonderful and cozy stay in stunning setting - great if you want to go camping with a bit more comfort. The train was quite loud so good to be aware of that, but we had anticipated it so it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Hope to come back next year!

Gerri's countryside cottage was just as described. I was in awe of the natural surroundings and the privacy of the cottage. I had the pool all to myself, which was very relaxing and just what I needed. If you enjoy walking, there are many areas on the estate to explore and enjoy the natural views. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind, I highly recommend Gerri's cottage. You will not be disappointed. It's an outstanding Airbnb. I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Gerri for your lovely hospitality.

My family really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. The space was amazing and exactly as described. The personalized messages to welcome our group made it the perfect start to our stay. The relaxation, watching the wildlife, and sitting by the fire at night were some of our favorite moments. We appreciated the suggestions for things to do in the area and had so many amazing experiences during our visit. We have stayed at many Airbnb’s over the years and I must say, this one is definitely top tier!

The place was bust absolutely beautiful. My 8yr old daughter and I stayed for a weekend getaway and there was so much to do! There’s a lot of wild life; from finding turtles, catching frogs, and checking out all the birds around the pond. My daughter and I spent hours in the canoes and had a fire each night! There were also plenty amenities at the house and within 10min from all the local food spots. The host was more than accommodating and very friendly as well! Will absolutely be coming back in the future!
