Every room is a delight of bespoke joinery and high quality fittings. Built in 1793 and in the centre of Gunnerside Village, this cottage is an ideal base to explore and enjoy all the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. The sound of the river welcomes you as you step though the front door, but all is tranquil inside.

It has a private south facing garden .Beautifully furnished with antique furniture It’s a truly magical little cottage and feels like you have stepped back in time . A deep bath . Log burning stove . It is an ideal tranquil retreat for one or two people wishing to stay in a peaceful setting surrounded by wildlife and wonderful views. The hut has king size bed, table and chairs, kitchen area, log burner and outside patio table and chairs, firepit, garden. A luxury wood cabin situated in 3 acres of private ancient woodland. The cabin has been hand crafted using reclaimed materials from an old mill in Chester and is fully insulated. Experience the peace and tranquillity, watch the stars through the star gazing window; enjoy the views across Widdale Beck to the fells beyond and delight in watching red squirrels in nearby trees. Sorry, no dogs – to protect our ancient woodland and the endangered red squirrels who live here.

The Garth has many walks straight from the door and family-friendly activities: horse riding, mountain biking, Richmond castle, limestone caves, historic railway and lead mines. The village pub and tearooms are close by (check times). You’ll love our place, with its fantastic panoramic views from all rooms . It is a lovely place to stay for couples, walking groups and families with kids. APRIL-OCTOBER: FULL weeks, FRIDAYs ONLY. Rest of year, shorter breaks any day .
