To start your lovely day with us, we will take you to our traditional market (market tour only for morning class as it is close at 1 PM) where we will walk along and show to you some of our spices & traditional herbs, and the morning traditional market activities (will not buy any products since the ingredients for the cooking are already acquire and prepare). *Pick-up information : if you are in Ubud Central area return free transport is included, but if you are out of Ubud Central area there is surcharge for the return transport, the amount is depend on how far that you are. We will continue our journey to enjoy the fresh air in a rice paddy field at Tengkulak Village. This will be a casual day at a family-owned batik business. The class can be run by Liz, Dogol (Liz's uncle) or Sari (Liz's aunty). It really depends who is available that day. When you arrive at the shop, you will be greeted one of us, and then an expert batik-maker will explain the process of batik to you. The person will describe and show you the batik process. Then you will make your own piece. While we wait for it to dry, you can browse around the shop and see batik from all over Indonesia, which is one of the best collections on the island. After meeting at 6am, we will drive to Mengening, a water temple who’s name means “stillness”. There we will undertake a powerful cleansing ritual where you let go of everything which no longer serves you, and take in that which moves you forward. And for all the ladies, if you are in your period you are not allowed to do the ceremony in the temple due to Balinese Cultural Law and this is a STRICT RULES!!! We will then drive back to Ubud for a delicious breakfast before meeting a local Shaman.
