Ruby Rose is the perfect off-grid glamping getaway-a unique fully-equipped converted horse lorry in its own field on a smallholding near Totnes.Although completely off-grid,it has every home comfort,including wi-fi,TV,gas cooker,fridge/freezer,hot-air heating and modern compost loo and shower. Decking areas, outside the living space and bedroom give wonderful views of the countryside. You have sole use of the whole field with al fresco dining area,barbecue, swings,table tennis and its own hens!

It has its own private toilet and shower facilities in separate huts adjacent to the main cabin accessed by a pathway. We provide a kettle, toaster, microwave, induction hob, gas hob & BBQ for outdoors, cutlery, small coolbox, crockery, cooking utensils, bedding and towels.

The annex accommodation includes a shower and toilet. It is a short walk to the award winning C13th Cott Inn, and Dartington Estate, with Totnes 1 mile away.

Having undertaken a major modernisation the cottage retains many historical features . Sleeping 6 in 3 double bedrooms there is a large kitchen diner , sitting room with log burner , bathroom with bath and separate shower and a downstairs cloakroom . The enclosed small garden to the rear offers lovely views and the opportunity to star gaze at night . We allow flexible check in and check out times if there are no bookings either side. One dog is welcome for a booking fee of £60.

Ruby Retreat is a unique Shepherd's Hut hand built in larch, cedar and ash by local carpenter, Peter Milner. His skilled design and craftsmanship gives Ruby a very special feeling. She is brand new for 2023. She sits in her own secluded position on a working Devon farm. The views over the glorious Devon hills are truly captivating. There is nothing to distract you from gazing at the fields, hills, woodland and distant church spire (well, maybe some sheep and lambs frolicking).
