It is the perfect starting point to a downtown Asheville excursion, just 15 minutes away, and to an endless array of outdoor activities in the Blue Ridge Mountains. 3 miles away is the charming town of Weaverville with its quaint atmosphere, artisan shops and distinctive restaurants. After a two year endeavor hand building, with love and passion, this unique cottage up in the trees, I am thrilled to welcome you to a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! The idea was to create an experience of being up in the trees and close to nature. Building a space small enough that it immediately becomes your own yet comfortably spacious, open and filled with light. A place to relax with all the amenities and still be immersed in the beauty of the mountain woods.

Our mountain sanctuary

Come relax and play in the great outdoors. Our area is abundant with lakes, rivers, waterfalls and hiking (the Appalachian trail is just a mile away). Our rustic cabin is built from 1875 hand hewn logs and is located on Spivey Creek in Unicoi County Tennessee. The towns of Erwin TN and Burnsville NC are just down the mountain for shopping convenience. For the arts, entertainment and airport convenience Asheville NC and Johnson City TN are less than an hour away. Come stay in our lovely cabin.

Awaken in a luxury king size bed and slide open the garage door to sweeping views of the Smokies. Enjoy coffee on the deck. Fully furnished bed and bath, AC/Heat and kitchenette. Pets permitted $40/first pet $20/each additional pet. Area is fenced. Listen to the river while lying in the in-deck hammock. The perfect stage for a restful afternoon or night time stargazing. The deep covered front porch or firepit area invite you to sit and rock with a cup of coffee or glass of wine as you gaze at the mountain views, sunrises and evening stars. Across the road you will find a working Alpaca Farm. The amenities and cheerful decor make it effortless to spend the day relaxing and savoring the tranquility this property offers.

The Understory: Cabin with Outdoor Tub and Sauna

Welcome to The Understory. Nestled deep in the rhododendron covered woods, this romantic hand-crafted tiny home offers you a peaceful and memorable stay just 15 minutes from both Asheville and Black Mountain. The comfortable living space includes a rain shower, king sized bed in a lofted sleeping area, cozy wood stove and a full kitchen. Surrounding the cabin is a large deck with a table and chairs, a luxurious soaking bathtub, and a patio equipped with a fire pit and propane grill.
