Our Chef can offer her experience to help decide which dishes will compliment each other and the group decides the final menu for the day and the shopping list is then set. Our Chef will explain more about the ingredients as you explore the market. There’s plenty of opportunity to ask questions, to smell the fresh Thai herbs, to see how fresh coconut milk is made and choose the best, select items for the shopping basket. This takes around 45 minutes, then it’s time to head to the kitchen. Food Preparation and the Art of Thai Cooking Once back from the market, there will be time for refreshments whilst the ingredients are washed. We will start the day with a local fresh market tour to shop for fresh ingredients, try some Thai fruit, dessert and snack. After a market tour, we will go back to the cooking studio. When you arrive, we will serve a welcome drink (lemongrass tea with honey) as refreshment. After that, I will introduce the main ingredients including vegetables, spices, and herbs. We will meet at SSS Phuket Dive & Surf Center or directly at the beach spot, where we will introduce ourselves and I will debrief you about surf culture and its development in Thailand. Then we will try the equipment to make sure it will fit your measurement. Firstly on the sand, we will show you all about the equipment and how to handle it out of the water. We will then brief you on what you will expect, what to do and what not to do. This briefing will last about 15 minutes. Then will hit the water together, the instructor will always be next to you to make sure you position is correct and that you will catch the right wave. We will give you the right push for you to glide and stand up on the board while surfing. This will last for about 1h15min.
