Our home features a large front lanai, bright open-concept living area (with daybed to sleep a third), full kitchen, bedroom with private lanai, and spacious tile bath. Close to Volcano Village- restaurants/cafes, farmer's market, galleries, & winery. An ideal home base for exploring the east and south shores of the Big Island.

Located on the grounds of our 1930s plantation house, in the heart of historic Volcano Village, The Maid's Quarters cottage is within walking distance of all village shops and restaurants, and just a few minutes drive from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Charming Rainforest Cottage

Surrounded by orchids and other tropical flowers, the cottage is located on two lovely landscaped acres - 30 minutes from Hilo or Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The property is solar powered, an off-grid sustainable system with 4G phone service and fiber optic wifi. The last two miles are on unpaved gravel road in variable condition depending upon how much rain we've had lately. Four wheel drive isn't necessary but an SUV or similar vehicle with higher clearance is recommended.

This house was built by my grandfather 30 years ago, and has retained the charm and warmth that he crafted into this cozy cottage.
