We are a 40 min walk/short drive away from the well loved market town of Abergavenny, affectionately known as the Gateway to Wales, which offers an array of independent shops, restaurants and cafes. It is now an artist’s house- renovated and eclectically styled for a comfortable stay- you are invited to rest and listen to the river, before exploring the stories and histories on your green and pleasant doorstep. Nature reserves, pubs and shops are walkable, Brecon Beacons, Newport, Cardiff and Abergavenny drivable. Welcome home.

The property is located approximately half a mile (about a 10 minute walk) from Twyn Square in the centre of Usk town, which has many pubs shops and eateries. The bungalow has a fully equipped kitchen and there are 2 good sized bedrooms overlooking the front garden. There are many breathtakingly beautiful walks on the doorstep. Access is along a single track lane leading to a private parking area for 1-2 cars. Strictly no parking on the lane please, because it is a public right of way.

With spectacular views from all four levels, this open-plan former dry dock sits at the very water’s edge. Open the bi-fold glass doors from the lounge area, to get even closer to the ducks and the boats that pass by. Pets are welcome, too.

Open the front door and you will be greeted by a fantastic view of the beautiful working canal, with stunning barge boats passing daily. The long stretch of canal offers fantastic walking and cycling trails to see the beautiful views that South Wales has to offer. With 2 spacious bedrooms and a bathroom with large shower, The Elms is suitable for up to 4 guests, however the open plan sitting room/diner is a cosy space for four adults sharing. Its a 15 minute flat walk to Monmouth town centre. Ideally located for exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Brecon Beacons and beyond. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Be prepared for instant relaxation in this peaceful rural spot at an historic watermill on the banks of the River Monnow, the only sounds are those of the river and the local wildlife. Take a glass of wine or BBQ down to the river in the early evening and be sure to see the kingfisher flying down the river and trout jumping. Walkers can join the riverside Swan walk, which runs through the Ruthlin grounds and woods and fishing can be arranged on request.
