the place was absolutely beautiful. my family and me enjoyed the place so well and our favorite part was standing on the front porch and watching the skiers go by

We loved using the pool and the patio/grill area. The view and the landscaping are beautiful. The owner was helpful and responsive; she supplied firewood and charcoal. Plenty of dining space both indoors and out. Good A/C.

We really enjoyed our stay! The location is perfect! The communication between us and the host was phenomenal! The house was perfect for everything we needed! The hot tub was a family favorite!

We needed a place to hold us comfortably for an anniversary trip, and Jeff’s place sure delivered! He was quit to communicate with us about questions after booking and stayed in touch up to checking in to be sure we were on the same page. We even had a minor issue on a Friday evening and he was very quick to communicate so that our trip could stay on track! Home was clean and had everything we needed to make our weekend trip no stress. Thanks Jeff and team!

Our family of four spent two nights at Callie's Cottage. We had a great time enjoying the trails, fishing the pond, and watching the horses. Our kids had a lot of fun playing in the treehouse. The house was cozy, clean and well appointed.

We absolutely loved the place! It’s in a lovely location with a fantastic view. Liz was extremely responsive and the place was clean and homey. We hope to be back soon!

Overall, the listing was exactly as advertised. Debra sent plenty of instructions the week before our stay and they were easy to follow to get in. House was clean and cozy and the beautiful surroundings were exactly what we were looking for! I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in the area.

We felt right at home, everything was pristine and clean, peaceful, beautiful tucked away private location. The amenities were everything we needed to have the ease of a getaway where we didn’t have to worry about packing extra items. From baby equipment to the game room we felt like it fit all of our needs perfectly. I appreciated all the thoughtful details that are put in place to make sure you truly are comfortable as a family traveling. Loved the gazebo and firepit on the deck! The ambiance really suited all our guests. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Everything was great and we had a wonderful time!

We loved our stay! This is a great location mid-way up the mountain so it’s not so dicey getting down for groceries, dinner, etc but it’s still very convenient getting up for Massanutten activities. Beds were comfortable and there were lots of pillows and towels. We loved the filtered water fill station. Troy was very proactive with information and helpful hints and very responsive to any questions.

Tyler and Erica’s place was so beautiful and quiet, clean, and private. They were great hosts, the home made protein balls they made were amazing.

Wonderful weekend stay right on the river. Easy access to the hazel river, Shenandoah national park, as well as some short trails right on the property. Spectacular views from every window and multiple decks. It’s easy to sit and read a book while listening to the peaceful sounds. This property is beautiful with everything you need to feel right at home. It felt more like a home than a rental property. It was well decorated and somewhere you actually want to spend time vs drop your stuff and head out. We enjoyed our stay, and plan to return.

Our kids had such a wonderful time! Between the game room, the hot tub, the fire pit and the huge field, they always had something to do. Our favorite part was the sunrise view from the bedrooms. Stunning!

This cabin is a hidden gem in the woods near Shenandoah—peaceful, stunning, and surrounded by nature. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful escape with breathtaking views, this is the place. Photos don’t do it justice. One of the most serene stays I’ve ever had.

Our stay was wonderful—the property is beautifully maintained, and the stars at night were breathtaking. My kids loved the swings and the fire pit, and we were especially impressed by how responsive the team was. When my child left behind a beloved stuffed animal, they quickly shared clear instructions to have it mailed back to us. The soaking tub was a bonus, and as a Black family, we felt truly welcomed and comfortable throughout our stay. We were a full hour from Shenandoah, but it was worth it to come home to such a peaceful, well-loved space each day. Special kudos to Patricia for her attentiveness.

Our weekend girls' trip getaway to Susanne's pastoral family homeplace was absolutely wonderful, as this property is truly its own point of interest! While all bed/bath/kitchen provisions were top notch and well exceeded a typical amenity checklist, the thing that comforted us the most was a warm and open welcoming into the doors of this historic family home. From classic furnishings and sturdy wares, old photos and whimsical trinkets, interesting nooks and mysterious crannies, peaceful porch seating and delightful cow parades, abundant trees and beautiful flowers... we felt like we were right at home. Although we could have been perfectly content staying parked on the property our entire stay (and may plan to do just that for our next visit) we opted to enjoy a lovely drive for a day hike to a stunning waterfall in Shenandoah National Park, and went in to Charlottesville for some shopping on the pedestrian mall. We 100% recommend this historic property and Susanne's warm hospitality!

Perfect location to visit our JMU daughter. The house had everything you could need. Great park down the street. And pet friendly was a huge plus.

Nicole’s place was absolutely perfect for our girls’ getaway! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and provided the perfect balance of comfort and seclusion. We loved how private and peaceful it felt—such a great escape from the hustle and bustle. The fire pit was amazing for cozy evenings, and the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind after a day of hiking. There’s a Walmart at the bottom of the mountain if you need anything, which was super convenient. A heads-up: if you’re planning to leave on a Sunday, the nearby landfills are closed, so you’ll need to take your trash further along your route home. The drive up the mountain is stunning, but definitely requires an AWD/4WD vehicle to make it up stress-free. Nicole was so responsive and easy to communicate with, which made everything even smoother. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to escape and enjoy a relaxing, secluded retreat! Great place and awesome location, close to Old Rag and White Oak Canyon. Clean and nice accommodation, with a great view. Kid friendly as well. Would definitely recommend.

An amazing retreat with incredible views of the mountains right off the deck & from almost every window. The scenery was breathtaking having 10 private acres to explore we hiked the woods right outside the door, local wildlife was a treat to spot. Spent the evening in a relaxing hot tub & by the firepit it was the perfect spot to watch the stars. We saw both the Sunset & the Sunrise from the Hot Tub, it was spectacular. The house is large with lots of space yet cozy for just 2 of us, it was perfectly appointed, with a log fire, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. Can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking to unplug and connect with nature we were looking for a place for a family reunion later this year it is perfect for large parties. Lots of beds & bathrooms all of a high standard. The new Porch was lovely surprise for morning coffee looking at that view. We are still reeling from the experience. 5 stars isn't enough - I'd give it 10 if I could!

We stayed here as a larger group for a nearby wedding. The place worked great, had a ton of space, and was really clean. Was pretty convenient to Harrisonburg and the venue too! We enjoyed our time and would recommend this place to any larger groups looking for a space!
