Bask in the Tranquil Courtyard of Bywater Guest House

Enjoy morning coffee on the leafy garden patio of this vibrant, Creole-style cottage nestled on a shady corner lot. Prep a meal within the funky-modern confines of the kitchen or wander the colorful interiors until you find a sunny spot on the couch. If you prefer to sleep in while on vacation, feel free to close all the wooden shutters to form a comfortable, dark cocoon in the bedroom and pretend like the rest of the world has stopped while you relax. When you are ready to get out and about, venture outside to explore the unique architecture of the Bywater and visit local dives and hangouts! This guest house is a creole-style cottage adjacent to a traditional shotgun (occupied by the host) on a shady corner lot in the Bywater Historic District. Originally built in the 1800s, renovated in 2007, and completely refreshed in 2017, guests will enjoy full, private access to this 600+ square foot, 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with a fully appointed kitchen. There is a queen bed in the bedroom plus a West Elm modular couch in the living room that comfortably sleeps one adult. Extra linens and pillows are provided. Flat-screen TV with DirecTV and DVD player. Washer/dryer in unit with supplies. Freshly-squeezed grapefruit and satsuma juice from trees in the courtyard, when in season (October - February)! Guests may feel welcome to sit in the courtyard, with a private patio just outside the living room door. We live on-site, and the door to our home is just across the courtyard from the living room or at the deck by your entry door. Should you need anything, we’re happy to be at your service. Otherwise, we'll leave you to the quiet enjoyment of the space and to enjoy your travels. The guest house is situated in the Bywater Historic District, a Creole neighborhood mostly known for its brightly colored architecture and creative community members. The neighborhood boasts easy access to dining and entertainment, and a number of hotspots are nearby including one of the city’s best brunches, a nano-brewery, and a wine bar with live courtyard jazz multiple times a day! The Crescent Park trail along the river is two blocks away and is a nice gateway to the French Quarter. The Crescent Park trail along the Mississippi Riverfront is two blocks from the house and offers easy bike/pedestrian/wheelchair access to the French Market (about 1.5 miles) along with the rest of the French Quarter beyond (Jackson Square is about 2 miles from the house). Multiple bus routes are within 2-4 blocks of the house, including Bus Route 5 two blocks away that takes you to the Quarter. The Rampart-St. Claude Streetcar Route is approximately 1.6 miles away at the intersection of St. Claude and Elysian Fields. Several local businesses offer scooter and bike rentals within a couple miles of the house, and a bike share station (Blue Bikes NOLA) is located around the corner. Uber/Lyft/rideshares are readily available, typically in 5 minutes or less at most times of day, and cost around $7-$12 to the French Quarter/CBD (or Central Business District as we in New Orleans call our downtown), depending upon traffic, time of day, exact dropoff location, etc. If you are driving your own vehicle, apps like "Spothero" will help you find and compare options for private or paid parking lots and spaces at your destination. On-street parking is typically pretty easy to find and no permit is required/no time restrictions exist. J&J's Sports Bar is across the street. While it can be great for watching a game close-by or for a night cap before you hit the sack, depending upon the day, it can also create conversation noise into the wee hours. The Oak House in Historic Jean Lafitte

Come to relax in a serene setting, surrounded by hundred- year-old live oaks. Jean Lafitte properties follow along the Bayou Barataria which is rich with the best, freshest seafood. There are nearby bayous and lakes for fishing and water sports. Local adventures include swamp tours, chartered fishing excursions, nature trails, and nearby boat launch access. The house, located just 25 miles from the New Orleans French Quarter and Bourbon Street is a perfect getaway for festivals and Mardi Gras.

This is our family cottage home in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is newly renovated, and decorated. We occasionally open it to all responsible, respectful, adult guest who abide by the house rules. No outside guest allowed after check in. It is 6.7 miles/15 minute drive to New Orleans/ French Quarter. We live next door. Absolutely no parties/ Booking Person must be the guest/ no more than 3 guest ever. We may ask for ID. If unsure. before you will be given the key. Wifi and Netflix.

Once you are nestled snugly in New Orleans' second oldest neighborhood, lovely Algiers Point, you will delight in the original artwork created by your host artist, and in the historic architecture, as you stroll our quaint streets and enjoy restaurants and bars just steps from the Art House, and along the walking path by the mighty Mississippi River.

Only 25 miles to New Orleans' French Quarter and Bourbon Street but worlds away as you sit overlooking one of Louisiana's most famous Bayous. From the largest and nicest decks and docks in the Lafitte/Barataria area you can sit over the water as you take in the beautiful views and activities of the bayou and Bayou Life. We also offer Bayou Life Charter Fishing which is a complete fishing experience package. Fish, crab, live the Bayou Life and be a New Orleans tourist all in the same trip!

Two bedroom fishing camp in lower Montegut, located near some of the best fishing in the area. We have a private launch on Bayou Terrebonne for your free use, or if you prefer the Pointe aux Chenes or Cocodrie marinas are just 20 minutes away. Sleeps 6 with fully furnished kitchen, and ample parking space for boats and cars. Fish cleaning station and crab boiling and fish frying equipment provided. Pets allowed for $40 fee. Free wifi. Our retreat is an hour and 30 minutes from New Orleans.

Walk to Commander's Palace in the Garden District or venture down to great Breweries just a couple blocks away.
