The Pod on the Hill

Situated approx.2.5 miles outside the village of Port Ellen, the POD offers peace, quiet and relaxation after exploring the distilleries and the joys of the Island. Port Ellen and Laphroaig can be seen from the POD which overlooks Kilnaughton Bay. The path to the three distilleries on this side of the Island starts in the village, taking you first to Laphroaig then Lagavulin , finishing at Ardbeg where delicious food is available. Come, find out for yourselves, a very warm welcome awaits you.

Mattie’s House 17 Ardview

Mattie’s house is in the village of Port Ellen,very central 5 minutes to the ferry port and minutes to the sandy beach.There are shops and hotels and distilleries all within walking distance,if you are coming by car there is on street parking and if you are coming by public transport the bus stop is meters away,please be aware we are in a residential area.The house has one double bedroom,one twin,living room,kitchen and bathroom with walk in shower,there is oil central heating in the property.

Bright, Airy and Cosy for a relaxing stay. Tarsgeir is an UPPER FLAT in a block of 4 ( 2 up - 2 down). Being located in Port Ellen gives you a fantastic starting point for most sightseeing to be done on Islay, whether by car, foot, bus or bike there is plenty to do and see. Just minutes to Ferry terminal, shops, restaurants, pubs and bus stops. The 'three distillery path' starts opposite 20 mtrs away, a nice walk not just for distilleries, also for wildlife, views and the Islay fresh air.

The Black House, Islay

The Black House is a unique property situated between Bruichladdich and Port Charlotte on the island of Islay. We use the house for High School to save commuting from Jura every day so don’t expect a pristine holiday let but rather a loved family space. There are 2 double beds and 2 bunk bedrooms (if you’re a party of single adults then 4 is the maximum number). Views are stunning and Islay’s great for whisky, wildlife or just rest and relaxation. Just a 10 minute drive from Campbeltown and 1 mile away from Westport beach (famous for its fantastic surfing), the area is known for its traditional whisky distilleries, outstanding scenery and the classic song "Mull of Kintyre". The lodge is also ideal for a golfing getaway, with 5 courses nearby and Machrihanish being known for having the best opening hole in the world.

Gartartan is spacious with efficient underfloor heating and insulation. The open-plan living area has an abundance of light, wooden flooring throughout and a modern wood-burning stove. Portbahn House, near Bruichladdich Distillery

Portbahn was our family home before moving to Jura, and we hope you'll find it as welcoming as we did. This modern waterfront house sits right on Islay's scenic coastal route with stunning loch views. Sleeps 8 across 3 ground-floor bedrooms—perfect for families. Large enclosed garden with trampoline and swings. Walk to Bruichladdich Distillery (10 mins), beaches, and coastal paths. Underfloor heating and wood-burner make it cosy year-round. Dogs welcome. Your island home awaits!

The Wee House

The Wee House is a one bedroom seafront cottage looking onto Port Ellen. Sleeping up to 4 guests with a sofa bed (full size double) in the living room. Listing price is for 2 guests sharing the bedroom. If the sofa bed is required for bookings of 2 guests please let us know as there is an extra charge (£10 per night). The cottage is within walking distance of local shops, pubs and restaurants and near to the distillery path taking you to Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg.

Port Ellen Pod, Isle of Islay, UK

Port Ellen Pod is a modern, well equipped, two bedroomed self catering cabin situated next to our home Swallows Roost.We are located approximately 3 miles from the village of Port Ellen on a quiet hillside with panoramic views overlooking Kilnaughton Bay, Port Ellen and Carraig Fhada Lighthouse. PLEASE NOTE: As we are located 3 miles from Port Ellen a car or some form of transport is recommended. Please ensure you book your car on the ferry in advance.

Daisy cabin is a comfortable yet modern one bedroom log cabin nestled into the woods. Daisy features a small bathroom, kitchen, lounge area and bedroom alongside an outdoor wraparound deck complete with gate for keeping dog in or mine out . Hot tub area where you can relax under the stars. The outdoor space also has bbq and dining area. Turn left or right at bottom ofdrive & you will arrive at beach , or just take in Bird life in the valley .

This traditional 3 bed ground floor distillery cottage features two double bedrooms and bunk bedroom (Sleeps 6) with separate living room, kitchen and main shower room. To the back of No7, you’ll find a good sized garden with views down to Lagavulin Bay.
