A pure sanctuary to relax and rejuvenate. The location is at the top of beautiful and quiet Koyodai. The combination of the warmth of Sachiyo’s and Justin’s hospitality and the impeccable design of their home and the meals unmatched in terms of quality of ingredients and flavor was perfection. I am grateful for the simple touches of care and creativity each day. I felt welcome and so happy. I look forward to seeing them again. My heartfelt thanks go out to them.

Staying at John’s place in Shiga was an unforgettable experience! John is an incredibly passionate and energetic host, always full of enthusiasm. He and his lovely wife, Rika, made me feel right at home. They even invited me to join their family for a delicious homemade dinner, and Rika kindly provided breakfast as well. Their son, Andre, was also very friendly, and I truly enjoyed our conversations. The house itself is a charming countryside cottage surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect getaway. If you’re visiting Shiga, staying with John is an absolute must! Highly recommended!

Nuestra estancia fue excelente. La habitación de estilo japonés era muy bonita, con vistas al jardín, amplia. Cada detalle estaba muy cuidado. Tuvimos la suerte de conocer mejor a Ikuko y Michael. Acudimos a una ceremonia del té organizada por Ikuko que fue súper interesante, conforme con la tradición japonesa. Al día siguiente dimos una vuelta Michael, incluyendo visita guiada de una plantación de té, donde degustamos una gran variedad de tés en un ambiente realmente increíble. Los anfitriones son gente muy amable, acogedora e interesante. Muchísimas gracias por todo y hasta la próxima!

What a beautiful traditional Japanese home to stay We totally loved the old house, beautiful decorations, the inner courtyard and our room. Everything was perfect! Chieri is a great host, we felt very welcomed and home right away. We were on a road trip, so we also enjoyed that we could wash our clothes. And we tried out the traditional japanese bath. Perfect! Chieri, thank you for everything! Hope to see you someday again!

Kuniko is a ‘Super Host’, the very best of the very best. Welcoming, friendly, always smiling and very helpful. The rooms are clean with traditional, though comfortable sleeping arrangements (actually very suitable moreso for a family with children, cuz it’s also fun). There was a fridge, a microwave, even a washing machine. The shower was great (although took me a while to figure out how to get water to come out of the shower-head - lever up vs. down - unusual). There was an abundant supply of towels and even a laundry basket to put them in), plus ample bins in which to sort your paper & plastics. Kuniko provides breakfast in her little cafe downstairs although we did not partake (except for a coffee on our last day). Note that Kuniko even stored our luggage (4 pieces) prior to check/in time. Kuniko is SO accommodating and just a lovely person (we love her black lab too). There was a stove top (tho we didn’t cook).

yukie的客房在我们到达的几天前起火了。很遗憾我们没能体验到这个房间，但是yukie和kavin为我们找到了另一个住处，我们住进了他们的朋友，津川夫妇家。津川夫妇也是非常友好和热情的人，我们非常愉快，就像多了两位家人一样。 感谢yukie总是非常及时和热情地回复我们的消息，并来车站接我们。yukie的英语很好，并且很乐于交流。我们很高兴在一起聚餐，并认识来自斯洛文尼亚的朋友。这里是日本的乡村地区，很多风俗和景致都与城市不同。我们很高兴能有这样的体验，这是一个安宁、恬淡、美丽的地方。y & k的精神深深感染了我。我非常希望一切困难都能被克服，祝你们平安、健康、幸福！

Really clean and spacious. Host was extremely responsive, even late at night, and willing to go above and beyond. Would highly recommend. One thing for people used to Western Beds: sleeping on tatami is hard, like barely better than sleeping on floor. Fine for 2 nights, but I like a medium-firm mattress and I would not have done more.

とても親しみやすいオーナーさんで、説明もとても丁寧でした。 地元のお勧めの飲食店、銭湯(天然温泉）の情報も正確で良かったです。 また、子供用のおもちゃも部屋においてあり、細やかな気配りが、お部屋の至る所にありました。 朝食のサンドイッチは、どれも美味しいですが、カレー味がお勧め(笑)

Mein Aufenthalt bei Miyagon war großartig. Ich wurde vom Bahnhof abgeholt und es gab einen gut organisierten CheckIn. Die Unterkunft war sauber und genau wie in der Beschreibung. Zusätzlich standen kostenlose Getränke und Snacks zur Verfügung. Es gab jeden Morgen super leckeres Frühstück, teils mit lokalen Früchten die ich zuvor noch nie gegessen hatte. Miyagon selbst war super freundlich, immer gut erreichbar und hat mir ganz viele nützliche Tipps für die Reise gegeben. Dank eines Übersetzungsgeräts, welches Sie immer bei sich hatte war die Verständigung ebenfalls einfach. Das Haus befindet sich direkt an einer Straße die voller Sakurabäme ist. Zudem sind unmittelbar in der Umgebung viele Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Das einzige was ich schade fand ist, dass ich die Unterkunft nicht für eine längeren Zeitraum gebucht hatte.

Le logement était très bien. Il ressemblait aux photos. L'hôte était très réactif. L'hôte nous préparait le petit-déjeuner à l'heure qu'on souhaitait. De plus, l'hôte est venu nous chercher. Nous avons été très bien reçus et avons passé un très bon moment. Merci beaucoup.
