I had a wonderful stay at Ananda Chillage. The location is peaceful and the room and living space are beautifully curated. Miki and Shinji were extremely helpful even before we arrived. They warned us about Golden Week and helped us make reservations at restaurants that could accommodate a vegan. All of their recommendations were excellent!Additionally Miki’s breakfast and hospitality each morning was a highlight of our stay. I hope to return to Yakushima and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Wir waren sechs Wochen in diesem wunderschönen Apartment. Es ist geräumig und sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Das moderne Bad und die vollständig eingerichtete Küche haben uns sehr gefallen. Wir haben zwei Mountainbikes mitgebracht. Für die Taschen und die Bikes hat der Gastgeber einen optimalen Platz bereitgestellt. Dafür danken wir ihm sehr. Der Gastgeber ist sehr sympathisch, unkompliziert und hilfsbereit. Dank moderner Apps war die Sprachbarriere kein Problem.

all 5 stars -- Nakazono-san is the real deal, and his Ryokan has a wonderful old charm. it is an old house but I loved it. the futon is plenty thick and was so comfy to sleep on. the owner is so helpful and funny. I bought him shochu and we drank together. daily towel and yukata provided and the onsen kagomma is right across the street for less than 500 yen. the Ryokan is within 10 mins walk of the ferry and aquarium and 15 mins walk from the main shopping district. there's a lot of cute local restaurants around, too. thank you Nakazono-san!

I was a solo traveller and I stayed on a room in the second floor. The apartment felt spacious and I could see that it was meant for 7 people. Still, I felt at home. I love the interior design of the room, bits of bare concrete on the ceiling, minimalism and industrial design. The amenities were good. I spent a lot of time on the dining table lit up by the ambient lighting. My only issue was that the room was close to a railroad crossing junction. Every now and then there would be a sound of bells to signal an approaching train. It did not bother me as I love Japanese trains. I was able to sleep and rest well.
