The Prayer Cabin

The Prayer Cabin is located at Lake Red Rock outside of Pella, IA. The cabin Is an Earthen/Berm home located on a 1 acre lot in a quiet & clean neighborhood. The lot boasts a wooded valley with many birds and squirrels to watch. The Prayer Cabin was recently remodeled with a brand new kitchen and bathroom. Our first guests asked us if Chip and Joanna were the creators of the design. 💚 Navy Blue cabinets, Tons of white shiplap and open shelving. Peaceful. A place of respite and relaxation.

Situated just 10 minutes south of the West Glen area of West Des Moines and 25 minutes from downtown Des Moines, you'll experience the quiet and beauty of rural Iowa while being close enough for shopping or to go out for a nice dinner or evening show. This rustic cottage is a quiet retreat in the heart of the Middle Raccoon River Valley. Situated on a private acreage within Whiterock Conservancy, guests can easily access 40mi+ of scenic hiking and mountain biking trails, float the nearby river, or enjoy dark sky viewing. A "rookery" is a nesting site for herons, a bird that prefers quiet, undisturbed habitat near water. And so the Rookery Cottage seeks to provide a natural escape from the daily grind.

The Cabin, located on a private lane, is a cozy and roomy getaway nestled in the woods overlooking the Mighty Mississippi River. It offers a peaceful respite with a kitchenette, large fireplace, and a riverside deck. It has a bedroom with a queen size bed and two twins in the great room. Enjoy hiking, playing board games, cooking, grilling out, or a just lazy night of TV and popcorn by the fire.

Enjoy a nice quite place with a pond and wildlife to watch. Enjoy coffee or drinks on the porch overlooking the pond. Minutes from Decorah where there is a bike trail and trout stream. Has outdoor fire pit. Firewood included. Enjoy paddle boating and kayaking on the pond. 1 paddle boat and 2 kayaks are included in your stay.

Enjoy watching wildlife, laughing around a fire, sitting on the front porch watching the sunset, reading, playing games, and stargazing.
