Each cabin has its own story inspired by New Zealand pioneers which led to the naming of the property - The Two Tales. This listing is for the second cabin, Horace - named after mountaineer, Horace Walker.

A peaceful little retreat nestled near the base of the Southern Alps mountains on a 100-acre farm within walking distance to the heart of Fox Glacier township - perfect for couples and solo travellers looking for a cosy and comfortable stay. The space features a double bed, tea and coffee-making facilities and a porch with fire pit. The bathroom is a short walk away and is shared with other guests from the second pod. Guests also have complimentary access to our Panoramic Outdoor Barrel Sauna.

Franz Josef Getaway

Settled in the stunning mountainous surroundings of Franz Josef, with surrounding views of Franz Josef Glacier and Lake Mapourika. The Tower, Okarito

The Tower is a comfortable two storey, seperate building with an upstairs bedroom with ensuite bathroom. It has excellent views of the sea and the Southern Alps. A warm, cosy and quiet space with a private garden. Free Wifi (system fully upgraded August 2021) Downstairs is the living room / kitchenette area. Upstairs and downstairs are connected by external stairs (see photos). Awesome outdoor bath - great for stargazing (new Aug 22). There are balconies on three sides of the tower.
