Johnnie’s Hideaway

Johnnie’s Hideaway sits on a private wooded lot on Johnnie’s Creek. Close to destinations such as Little River Canyon, Mentone, Desoto State Park, Weiss Lake, are all a short drive. Our cabin sleeps six with a queen bed on main floor, and two full beds in loft area. Main floor has 2 baths with utility room, fully appointed kitchen, dining/living room combo which features a two story rock fireplace with gas logs. A covered wrap around porch & sun deck on the back make great outdoor spaces.

Located just 1.5 miles from the visitor's center at Desoto State Park, the cottage is close to everything including the restaurants of downtown Mentone, Little River Canyon, and shopping in Ft. Payne.

Nestled in the woods on the canyon below DeSoto Falls, the Azalea House is a peaceful escape to Lookout Mountain. Renovated in June 2025, to include a full kitchen, this quiet, wooded property is .5 miles from DeSoto Falls, 7 miles from the Mentone town center, .5 miles from Shady Grove Dude Ranch, and adjacent to Fernwood of Mentone. The properties of Mountain Laurel Inn lie on the outskirts of DeSoto State Park, and offer easy access to trails and hiking.

This is a mother in law suite that is located right at the foot of Lookout Mountain and just in front of Weiss Lake. Here you are less than a mile from a public boat access. Minutes away from Cherokee Rock Village, Little River Canyon, Little River, Coosa River, and Neely Henry Lake. The suite sets just above our attached garage that you will have a parking space in to keep you out of the weather. It has its own door and is separate from the main house.

The Oak Leaf Cottage, in the Fort Payne Alabama Historic District, served as the home for caretakers of The Oaks, its parent property, and a town icon, built-in 1884. The cottage features one-bedroom with an en-suite bath, soaking tub and shower, walk-in closet, LR, fireplace w/gas logs, kitchenette, and outside veranda. Quaint, totally refreshed furnishings, wi-fi, tv. 3-blocks from vibrant shops & entertainment. Close to waterfalls/hiking.
