Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Cleugh Foot (pronounced Clue Foot) is one of the original buildings on the Netherby Estate, overlooking acres of parkland along the River Esk. Watch red squirrels play right outside the cabin doors as well as a vast array of birds and other wildlife. Bath in the authentic Scandinavian wood fired hot tub while watching the trees and the stars around you. Sorry, no dogs – to protect our ancient woodland and the endangered red squirrels who live here.
