The house was built in 1691 and what is now Townfoot Byre would have originally housed animals. The site is named 'The Garrison' as it sits on the remains of the former Roman fort of Maia, a world heritage site at the end of Hadrian's Wall. Bowness itself is in an area of outstanding natural beauty sitting on the Solway Estuary which separates England from South West Scotland. We are 40 minutes from the Lake District and 20 minutes from the historic city of Carlisle.

Dorothy’s place is part of an 18th Century Villa. Adults only no children allowed. Everything you need for that perfect romantic break. Guests get full use of the large garden and woodland to take in the stunning view. If travelling by train our advice would be get a taxi from the station as can be difficult to find on foot . Guests are welcome to park up as early as you want before check in or drop luggage off in a safe place,but please let us know in advance.

Welcome to our cute wooden cabin at Pattys Barn located 10 mins south of the historic city of Lancaster, nestled along the picturesque coastline of Morecambe Bay. Inside, you'll find an open-concept living area with fire. The cabin sleeps up to four people and the kitchen and bathroom area are a stone's throw from the cabin (approximately 10 second walk) and are fully equipped so you can whip up delicious meals and enjoy some alfresco dining.
