For recreation there is hiking in the valley and nearby conservancy areas, biking on country roads, or cross-country, downhill or snowshoeing during the snowy months. Hawthorne is a 2-hour drive from NYC or a 2-hour Amtrak ride from Penn Station to Hudson, and then a 20 minute drive by car or taxi. They are known for their restaurants, local shops and quaint downtowns. The area features outdoor nature activities: hiking trails, boating and kayaking.

Located just outside historic downtown Coxsackie, this newly renovated suite in a 220 year old Greek Revival house is within easy walking distance to tiny downtown Coxsackie and its restaurants and shops. 25 minutes to Hudson, 45 min-1 hour to the Catskill Mountains. It’s an old house, with all attendant creaks and charms. In the warmer months, we strive to create a wildlife-friendly pollinator garden, full of sprawling native plants and pollinator favorites.
