During winter when our smallholding settles down awaiting spring it’s a great base to explore the area. You will be the only guests and have the ten peaceful acres to yourself. Our bungalow, Oban, is in a great location on the edge of the Lake District. We are just five minutes from the beach with views up the Duddon Estuary with the glorious backdrop of the Cumbrian Fells. It is ideal for families who enjoy the outdoor life as there are so many walks just locally or in the Lakes. Your pets are very welcome but we need to warn you that the garden is not fenced in. The village of Ireleth is quiet but very friendly and there are shops and take aways nearby in Askam.

Cartmel Barn: Beckside Stables

We have lovingly restored a former working stable into a magical, cosy, charming snug-like retreat. Perfect for walkers, cyclists, L'Enclume diners, & visitors to Cartmel (1 mile away). Luxurious interior, romantic, comfortable, cosy & unique. Curl up on the sofa in front of a wood burning stove. Films, games, TV, sheepskin rugs & very comfy bed. Toilet & shower are a short step outside the Stables, in beautiful gardens. Separate lounge space with wifi & cooking hob and small kitchenette.

The Hide Lodge is a stylish space, designed with relaxing and retreating in mind. It is cosy and warm with underfloor heating. The open plan lounge and living area has full width bi-fold doors, which allows the space to be fully opened up to feel like part of the woodland beyond. The main bedroom boasts sliding french doors, also overlooking the woodland and stream, with a bath placed to enjoy this view. There is a private terrace and patio area to enjoy al-fresco dining or star-gazing.

Camping Barn 2, Abbot Park Farm

Built in 2012, our slate and stone camping barns boast 6 single beds on the first floor. The ground floor space includes a dining area, kitchen area which includes a microwave, kettle, toaster, small fridge and a single electric hot plate. and a ground floor wet room. Bedding, towels, cutlery, crockery are all provided. Outside are stunning views, a picnic area and public footpaths through the farm. Breakfast is not provided can be requested at an additional cost.

Pool Bank, The Lake District

Set in the Lake District in the heart of the Winster and Lyth Valley. A studio apartment, perfect for two which is part of the home of Lakeland Potter William Plumptre and his family. The apartment has its own access, a double bedroom, (which can be made into a twin room if requested) a bathroom, open plan kitchen - sitting room. The perfect place to relax. Pool Bank is ideal for cycling, walking and hiking and only 20 minutes from junction 36 on M6

The Vale of Lorton is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of the Lakes, ranging from the flat farmland and Gem town of Cockermouth at one end to the rugged mountains and Buttermere at the other. The tranquil setting of The Spinney, above the River Cocker, with spectacular views over to Whinlatter, is an ideal location to explore the north western Lakes. Set in two acres of mature trees, gardens and river frontage, with lots of wildlife.
