The cosy living room is fitted with an efficient log burning stove, and you will find a basket of wood on your arrival. The kitchen is located at the back of the building with access to a small, enclosed garden perfect for a slow breakfast in the sun or an evening drink on the lawn. Set in the foothills of the Cairngorm National Park, this is an ideal stop off between Inverness and Edinburgh. Balmoral Castle, Dunnottar Castle, Glamis Castle and St Andrews are nearby. Smithy Cottage

Located in the picturesque hamlet of Glass, on the Deveron river and only 10 minutes from Dufftown, heart of the Speyside whisky trail and home of the Glenfiddich and Balvenie whisky distilleries. We are surrounded by hills, heather, wildlife, castles, golf courses, distilleries and a host of family friendly amenities all within easy reach by car. Also, there are the stunning coastlines of Aberdeenshire and Morayshire, many with long sandy beaches where you can often spot seals and dolphins.

Comfortable, dog-friendly steading conversion

Coshelly Steading is on the edge of Rothienorman, a village with a pub, a Chinese, an excellent Morrisons Daily shop and a Zero Waste shop, all about 10 minutes walk from the house. It is a newly converted steading, attached to our house and surrounded by fields. Plenty of parking, WiFi, TV etc. Dogs are welcome. There are mountains, the coast and many castles, all within easy driving distance and plenty of pleasant walks nearby. Free range eggs from our chickens, when they are in the mood.
