Julia was an impeccable host, from before I’d even arrived. The instructions and description of her lovely home in Kendal were clear, while she communicated in a timely manner too. She also went above and beyond to ensure check-in was smooth and I knew exactly where everything was. As described, her home was quiet and comfortable, but best of all, she was an excellent host. Not only was she friendly and easy to talk to, she also gave me some great local knowledge and recommendations, which I duly took. They helped me have a lovely day. The next time I come to the Lake District, I know exactly where my first choice for accommodation will be!

We have known Myles for a long time and enjoyed our stay. He made us very welcome and we felt at home.

This was our third visit, not felt the need to look for anything else when visiting relatives in the area. It's comfortable, well priced, and Jontti is responsive and leaves lots of provisions which help when you arrive late. You even get some choice! Of the 7 Airbnb's we've used this has to be the best equipped. Recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Trina and Tim's home. They were very welcoming and their home is fabulous. Great location for walking into Kendal and for all that Kendal has to offer. The breakfast was lovely and waking to the smell of fresh bread was an added bonus. We will definitely be going back.

Very pretty home we only stayed one night but it was very comfortable.

Absolutely loved our stay — 5 stars! Check-in was seamless, and the property was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. Communication with the host was easy and smooth throughout. The hot tub offered amazing views — such a relaxing treat — and the BBQ hut was a fun and cozy bonus. We also made great use of the EV charger, which was a godsend in this fantastic Lake District location. Couldn’t recommend this place more highly!

Exceptional! The accommodation was spacious, quirky in a good way, surprisingly well equipped, and no expense spared. Our host Ivan was extremely helpful and a pleasure to talk to. We plan to return!

Great location in Dufton right on the Pennine Way. A perfect base for walking and exploring the beautiful local countryside. Compact residence with everything you'd need. Very clean and tidy and well laid out. Friendly, personal greeting from Julie, once I'd settled in, and really nice to have fresh bread, eggs and milk provided and even a welcome cake. Any questions and Julie was on hand to help.

What a lovely find for a last minute get away. Very easy to book and communication was excellent. We were greeted by Martin, who offered to help with our luggage, quirky followed by Howard. Both hosts were friendly, chatty and welcoming and were available if we needed anything during our stay. Howie provided us with a parking permit, a bargain at £5 and Martin showed us to our suite to make sure we were happy. Recommendations for places to visit were also given The suite was spotless and had everything we needed for our short stay. Bed was super comfy, fluffy towels and it was great to have a living area to relax when we returned later in the evening. On leaving the following morning, Martin came to say bye and again offered to carry our luggage. We had a lovely time, great hosts and will definitely return and recommend to family and friends. Thanks Martin and Howie.

Stayed 4 days in Paul’s lovely cottage, just a short walk from Hawkshead village. The accommodations were as expected and Paul could not have been a more gracious host. He has a wealth of local knowledge and directed us on some beautiful walks. Breakfasts were fantastic! Would absolutely return in a heartbeat.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Motherby House and am so grateful to the hosts, Jacquie and David, for making me feel so welcome. They’re both kind and engaging—and they gave me some great recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area. Breakfast was delicious and Jacquie kindly made me a tasty packed lunch for my hike! I’d be very happy to stay here again.

Beautiful warm clean accommodation . The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in. Bathroom was large, very clean and hot water. Julie left us a wide choice of breakfast including vegan, lovely. Very private and quiet, parking. Attention to detail was great “sheep” .

Fantastic place to stay in the Lake Distric. We went with our own car and there is private parking at the place itself. It is close to the main beautiful towns, lakes and mountains of the district, fitting every plan you might have around the area. We cannot speak about public transport from our own experience. Stuff was so welcoming, communication was so easy and they were giving us advice on the possible plans around the area, making us feel at home. We will definetly come back on our next visit to the district.

My stay at Brian’s farm was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, Brian made me feel completely at home. The farmhouse itself was cozy, clean, and full of rustic charm — think wooden beams, wide open fields, and the soft smell of fresh hay in the air. Brian was an exceptional host: friendly, attentive.

I can't recommend Brenda's place highly enough! This was the most authentic and wonderful Airbnb experience I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, Brenda's warmth and hospitality made me feel completely at home. The room was not just cosy and comfortable, but also thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a truly relaxing stay. The location is perfect for exploring the Lake District. It's a wonderful driving distance from just about every spot in the Lakes, and yet the village feels perfectly unspoilt, tucked away from the busier areas. What truly set this stay apart was Brenda herself. She went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable trip, providing invaluable local tips and was so interested and supportive of my research, even gathering lots of books for me to read! Overall it felt more like visiting a dear friend. If you're looking for a genuine, heartwarming, and truly authentic Lake District experience, this is it! ❤️

Jayne and Karl are the most wonderful, welcoming and friendly hosts I’ve met. From the moment we arrived soaking wet from walking all day along the Hadrian’s Wall Path in the rain Jayne gave us a friendly welcome and offered to dry our wet boots. The rooms were warm, the beds VERY comfortable and the views outstanding and the peace was wonderful too. The home cooked food was tasty and cooked with great care and we opted for a packed lunch to take with us too. If you’re walking the Hadrian’s Wall Path find a way to stay here! The beautiful surrounding, the cottage with its coming home feeling, Kate's kindness, and the animals, all made our stay as if we were in a safe haven. There is quiet to rest, and a sense of wonder by being in nature, close to all the creatures and the walks close by. Kate has been thoughtful and kind by preparing the breakfast table each morning, even thinking of getting us vegan options, all when she had to work throughout the days. The rooms and the whole place has a beautiful lived in quality with art, books to read, fireplace which we could use in the evenings, and the cats of course. It was just a joy to observe the chickens on the sunny days and with Kate's directions to walk through the farms to the nearby pub at sunset. It is a warm and magical place to return to. Thank you!
