The Back Forty Solar Cottage

Fernances Creek Farm is one hour north of Sydney in the picturesque Wollombi Valley. Ten minutes from Laguna with the Watagan Mountains and Yengo National Park on our doorstep. The Hunter Valley vineyards start here, with Broke & Pokolbin vineyards 45 minutes away. We are a Haflinger Horse stud on 210 acres, with show jumping and eventing facilities. Great for couples and families, the Back Forty Solar Cottage is a fully featured off grid solar home with all of the comforts and space to relax.

Acacia Cottage at Wattle Valley Farm

Acacia Cottage is a recently refurbished modern country cabin on the doorstep of the Hunter Valley wine region, which makes this an ideal base from which to explore everything this region has to offer. The cottage is situated on Wattle Valley Farm adjacent to our living quarters and a short walk to the iconic Wollombi Brook. During your stay, you might even come across some of our friendly native residents like wombats, kangaroos, playpus, echidnas, goannas, kookaburras and black cockatoos.

The view from the tiny house is peaceful and serene and showcases the Valley of Joy. Watch the neighbouring alpaccas, goats and cows grazing and take a bushwalk all just outside your door.

Close to major wedding venues: Redleaf, Woodhouse and Stonehurst, wineries and everything Hunter & local. Please note: We do not cater for children under 12, nor pets, at this time.
