The Lodge was way above expectations despite the great reviews it already had. We were 6 adults & 2 young children- the bedrooms were perfect, roomy with ensuites- a real treat. The upstairs lounge was a kids dream with the Wendy house & sooo many toys. The Christmas tree was a fabulous bonus & made our celebrations perfect. The hot tub was brilliant & well used by us all- it was great knowing how clean & well maintained it was. The Lodge itself we could not fault. The resort itself is somewhat tired & in need of a bit of tlc. Understandably mid winter not all activities were available & we expected this but did feel that the pool facilities which we used needed maintenance. We did not expect the bar staff to be too inebriated to serve us the one evening we decided to pop up to the bar!! Other than that top marks - a long awaited family holiday that we will remember with joy. The only let down was the non-return of a left behind item that should have been easily located.

We had a fantastic stay at Carlo and Shruti amazing cottage. Carlo greeted us on arrival and made us feel very welcome from the start. We were very grateful for the basket of goodies, the kids tucked straight in! The Cottage was remarkably clean, tidy and comfortable. The hot tub and the views were absolutely stunning. This was our first Airbnb we have stayed in and alls I can say is that the bar has been set very high! Thanks for having us, we will certainly be back 😊

A very special treat for my husbands upcoming ‘big’ birthday. An absolutely incredible location and property. However what sets this place above the rest is the brilliant host Andy, who went out of his way to ensure we had the best time and enjoyed our trip to the full. Very knowledgeable about the location and gave us some great tips. Kindly lit the hot tub for us which was the perfect temperature when we returned from dinner. Andy even offered to ‘babysit’ our dog! Hands down the best air b&b we’ve had the pleasure of staying in, we didn’t want to leave! Thank you Andy :)

Enjoyed a great stay with the family, including 6 year olds, parents and grandparents. The house was superbly presented with everything you need, a short walk from the beech and cafes, and in a great location. Was perfect for what we were looking for!

This was our family’s second stay at what is our favourite spot at Retallack. The lodge, being right on the water, feels peaceful and secluded, but is only a few minutes’ walk to the pool, restaurant and other amenities. Mel is a great host, always replying quickly, and the lodge has everything we needed for our stay. We’d definitely come back again.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this was my first experience with AirBNB and I am not disappointed. Annie is an incredible host and the place was perfect. I was a little concerned in the back of my mind that it's basically at the bottom of their garden, but when you're in there you don't notice at all - felt totally private. The place was very true to the listing and there were 0 surprises when we got there. It's an intimate space, perfect for a romantic getaway. I spent many summers in Bude camping when I was little, and was great to revisit the town and all my gave spots, but this time sleeping somewhere a little cushier (the bed is so comfy it's unreal.) if I'm ever staying in Bude again, Out The Back would be my first choice for accommodation.

Lovely few days away in a small complex of lodges, staff on site very approachable and a very short distance to the lake. The cafe and restaurant didn’t seem that inviting and very quiet for Easter but that’s no reflection on Roz place. We enjoyed the hot tub unfortunately we weren’t able to use the outside lounging area due to weather being mixed. We enjoyed travelling to Bude (beautiful place) and we enjoy going to strawberry fields farm and coffee shop. The site is very peaceful and the lodges are set out so everyone is well spaced out and Roz has a lovely position overlooking the field (no animals currently). My husband used the gym once which was handy. Thanks for a nice few days

Us 9 from 7 to 70 had a really great holiday. Despite sometimes dodgy weather, we loved using the numerous house facilities. The sheltered from breeze,wellness area exceeded expectations, especially hot tub & sauna & was well maintained.Also much family football ! & basketball. The outdoor gym a good perk. Pizza oven good fun too. Indoors budding pianists explored their talents ! The conservatory was beautiful to relax & eat family meals in if we couldn't eat outside. Locally the walk to Porth beach for us was fine & walk to the island beautiful. We made use of the body boards & kids wetsuits at the house and all tried out paddle boarding at the Gannell ( again free because the house offered inflatable board ). So busy we only watched 1 film in the cinema / playroom, but it's a great asset to have, as was the annexe, a real little home. the lettuces growing if we wanted & just the huge space in & out. Unlike many places, upstairs was spacious & all fully carpeted, so very quiet.

We loved it. Plent of sitting space in the basement. Beautiful kit hen with plenty of gadgets. Bedrooms comfortable with added bonus of bath robes in double bedrooms. Ground floor pool table was popular with grandchildren.

Our family had a good stay, there was plenty of space for 9 adults and 3 infants. The garden was really spacious and we enjoyed use of the fire pit, BBQ, trampoline and hot tub. The only downside was the kitchen was a bit small for us, as we cooked the majority of meals at home and ordered a big food shop for a week, which we had to split between the two kitchens (upstairs and downstairs). Walkable to Princetown where there are local facilities and amenities, plus driving to many nice places on the moors, but roads are narrow and can take some time to get places, being in the heart of Dartmoor.

Absolutely stunning place! Clean and tidy. The host were amazing! Loved staying there its was so spacious and relaxing! Definitely want to go back :) xx

We had such a lovely, peaceful stay at Tim’s place. The lodge is even better than the photos and the quality of beds, linen, etc was really high quality - both the adults and children in our group all slept better than at home! The hot tub was a real highlight for us, brilliant size and ready for us to use as soon as we arrived. Tim was really responsive and available to answer any questions we had. Loved the location - highly recommend visiting “Outside” up the lane for a bite to eat and a drink

We had a really good stay even tho the weather wasn’t the best we still enjoyed our time .

Spent the weekend at Hillcrest Hideaway and it didn’t disappoint. Prosecco and brownies on arrival with a personalised welcome sign, The place was clean and spacious with lots of natural light. We enjoyed both the sauna and hot tub. All instructions were very clear on how to use. Check-in was very easy and host were around if we ever needed any assistance which we didn’t. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A great lodge in a secluded area of the camp site, easily accessible and with car parking adjacent. WiFi worked well as did the TV and all other appliances. Welcome pack good, enough as a well stocked shop was within the village. Several restaurants also within walking distance or a short drive, would recommend the Pityme Inm, good value and plenty of seating. Local sailing club open to visitors and had a good view of the estuary, fish nd chips on Friday on first come first served basis. Taking all into account I would thoroughly recommend this lodge for a comfortable stay. Bob T

I would highly recommend staying here. Everything was clean and tidy and it was easy to get to. We loved the recommendation of places to go that were left for us to read. Our dogs enjoyed the treats left for them, I felt this was a really nice touch. Although we went out to adventure each day it was a perfect and peaceful place to unwind at in the evening. Hot tub is always an added bonus. It was really clean and easy to use. Can’t wait to stay again!

Loved our stay , was very cosy and pretty place. had everything we needed inside. Hot tub and fire were a bonus. All the animals on the farm were lovely to see. layout was great. greta stay

What a stunning location. The climb down (but more importantly, the climb up!) is worth it. Loved being so close to the sea with such a wonderful view. the cabin is very comfortable and warm with an impressively well-stocked kitchen: plenty of crockery and cutlery; there is even a waffle maker! Be warned that the closest beach is a steep climb down (and back up - 180 steps plus a long steep slope) so be prepared for that. We were certainly fitter by the end of the week. We didn’t venture off too much - I preferred to sit outside and appreciated having 3 different seating areas to choose from. We used the hot tub nearly every night, with some wonderful sunsets and clear starry nights. The Halfway House at Polbathic served a great Sunday lunch (don’t confuse it with the one at Kingsand like we did - happens all the time apparently!) and Room Smiths and Player Ready in Plymouth kept our boys entertained when the rain was lashing down (we took the ferry over from Torpoint).
