We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in Waipara! There is plenty to do around the area from vineyards to do some wine tasting to the fantastic sculpture park a short drive from the accommodation. The house is fully equipped with everything you need, we made our meals there and popped next door to the cellar door for a wine tasting and walk around the vineyard. This is the perfect spot for some peace and quiet. Great recommendations from the hosts in the welcome book. The fireplace kept us very cosy on the autumn evenings. Bed was very comfortable, plenty of towels to enjoy the outdoor bath. Thanks for our stay. We will certainly be telling others to visit!

What an amazing place! Perfect in every way peaceful,beautiful everything you need we loved our stay with access to the canoes on the lake ( thanks for the loan of the fishing rod) to the glow worms in the cave at night to the hot tub just perfect.

Great location easy access to walking tracks, the city and more. Comfortable space which was great for our family. We would definitely stay here again

Our family loved the stay at the Alpine lodges. The lodge itself was really cozy having all the modern amenities. The handwritten welcome card and freshly baked bread was an amazing personal touch. The place also had different seating options and hot tub to enjoy the surroundings in the best way possible The petting zoo was a great addition to the experience, kids enjoyed interacting with all the farm animals. What we also were impressed with how there was emphasis on sustainability by minimal to no use of plastic and also provision to collect food scrap for composting. We would say, one of the best places to stay at Lake Tekapo!

This place was AMAZING. It was so clean. The kitchen was fully stocked to cook all of our meals at home. It is very spacious and what a plus to have three toilets. It was only 50 minutes from Hooker Valley Track with a gorgeous scenic drive. We had a gorgeous sunset and sunrise. The horses behind the yard were a pulse - gorgeous to watch and one of the days they actually trotted over to us. 10/10 would absolutely recommend to a friend and would gladly stay again!

This was our last stop on our two week trip around central New Zealand. We stayed in many lovely air bnbs but this one was by far the best! The view of the ocean, the privacy, the spaciousness, the nature, and the hot tub under the stars made this stay our absolute favorite! AND the beach below the home is the most beautiful beach I’ve ever been to! 10/10 highly recommend staying here!

A great place to stay. Spectacular night sky. So peaceful - the attached cottage was empty so just us on site. Good recommendations for restaurants but must have a car.

Wow... That was our main word for this stay. The location and view was incredible. It instantly felt like a real relaxing getaway. We noticed some issues around cleanliness that I will share directly with the host so that they are aware, as this place deserves the best! The hot tub was an absolute highlight. Such a friendly and responsive host to chat to online. We had a fabulous time here and we definitely hope to return to this oasis on the hill!

Maree hosts a fantastic, beautiful, comfortable renovated villa home in a superb location that remains private and serene. She was a great host and I could not recommend staying here highly enough.

Big group of us stayed for the marathon and had a great time! Plenty of space for 15 of us to sleep, pool table and dartboard kept us entertained for hours. Outdoor BBQ area was great too. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I recently stayed at this charming Airbnb for a long weekend, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The check-in process was seamless, with clear instructions provided ahead of time. The apartment itself was spotless, well-decorated, and felt incredibly welcoming from the moment I walked in. The bed was super comfortable, and the linens and towels were high quality. I really appreciated the little touches—coffee and tea provided, fast Wi-Fi, and even a guidebook with great local recommendations. Location-wise, it was ideal—just a short walk to great restaurants, a lovely park, and public transit. Despite being in a central area, the place was quiet at night, which made for restful sleep. The host was friendly, responsive, and clearly cared about my experience. I’d definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The outdoor bathtub with a view of the mountains is just incredible. The rest of the place was so comfortable and completely spotless. So many little details were thought about, like a big citronella candle for outside, bath salts, loose leaf tea and biscuits. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Hosts were friendly and helpful. Suggested a really good bike ride for me to do with my daughter. The Bach was immaculately clean and had everything that we needed. Would definitely stay there again

An absolutely beautiful little slice of paradise hidden away in the mountains! Well equipped kitchen, luxe linens, and the outdoor tub was just incredible after a long day’s drive! We only wished we had more time here!! Incredible stay!

Magic!!! We loved Sunset Cabin so much!! The surroundings are stunning, the cabin is beautifully decorated and so romantic. The bedding was luxurious and the outdoor bath was amazing! Jody is the perfect host and we cannot thank her enough! We will never forget this special place.

Stayed at The Huts, hut 6 specifically which had an AMAZING view of the lake and mountains. So beautiful it felt like it was a living picture frame. Having the tub to soak in underneath the milky way after a long day of hiking was just magic. Even with Tekapo springs within walking distance (which was great), it tends to get busy so it was perfect to also have the option of a quiet and relaxing soak all to ourselves. Great amenities and superb location. Just the right size for 2. Easy and friendly check in/out. Hope to be back soon!

We were looking for somewhere isolated, unique and memorable and this place delivered in droves. We wanted an escape and we found an oasis. The views to the mountains changes hour by hour as you sit atop the the highest point for miles around. The property had everything we needed and then some - but it was the outdoors spa that won us over. To sit outside in the warmth of the spa under a blanket of stars was truly remarkable - even better to have that solely to ourselves made it even more special. If you have Mariua Mountain Retreat on your wish list, book it now. If you don't, add it now - you won't regret it. NB: for the faint of heart who might feel daunted by the road up to the house - just follow David's instructions and you'll be fine. We drove a little Toyota Corolla and it made it up with no issues. It's a little bumpy in places, but take your time and you'll be up in no time.
