A short 10-minute walk to the railway or a 15-minute drive to Mount Ruapehu, it offers easy access to amenities and dining options. Complete with a well-equipped kitchen, heat pump, and included linen, it’s perfect for couples or small families. Please note you are required to clean before departure.

Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

All bedrooms are off the main living area which encourages plenty of family time. 20 meter walk to shuttle pick up in National Park. The famous Tongariro Crossing, Ring of Fire (March 2020), 42 Traverse are some of the regions major events. National Park has access to awesome mountain bike tracks and some of the most beautiful scenic walking treks in New Zealand. Cafes and pubs all within 5mins walk.
