Black Box Cottage

Beautiful open style cottage to yourselves with great deck and views of the mountains . All bedrooms are off the main living area which encourages plenty of family time. 20 meter walk to shuttle pick up in National Park. The famous Tongariro Crossing, Ring of Fire (March 2020), 42 Traverse are some of the regions major events. National Park has access to awesome mountain bike tracks and some of the most beautiful scenic walking treks in New Zealand. Cafes and pubs all within 5mins walk.

Start your Ruapehu adventures in Owhango.

Discover Kapokapowai Cabin! A beautiful retreat close to all the adventures the Ruapehu district offers and a perfect halfway stop when traveling between Auckland and Wellington. Take the alternative route. (Please note, due to loft access, the cabin is not suitable for toddlers.) Explore the magical Ohinetonga forest while here in Owhango. Breathe. When sleep calls, climb the ladder to your comfy loft bed. Alternatively, there is a futon style sofa bed in the downstairs living area.

Tongariro Hut. A fun quirky north facing cottage.

Please note this is an unserviced holiday home. You will Need to supply your own linen and towels etc. Our wonderful bach full of character, is an old mill house which belonged to the local timber mill from the 1940-50s. It then spent several years as the Tauranga ski club, before being lovingly restored into a groovy bach full of rustic charm. It's the perfect place to getaway and relax, or to use as a base after your high octane adventures around the Central Plateau.
