To Alta Marea βρίσκεται στην περιοχή Βαμβακιές Αλοννήσου, που απέχουν 20 περίπου λεπτά (με το αυτοκίνητο) από το Πατητήρι και 8 λεπτά από τη Στενή Βάλα, όπου μπορείτε να βρείτε σουπερμάρκετ και εστιατόρια. Σε απόσταση μικρότερη των 50μ. από την κατοικία υπάρχει ήσυχη παραλία, χωρίς κόσμο. Ωστόσο, αν κάποιος επιθυμεί κάτι πιο έντονο, σε απόσταση 1 χιλιομέτρου βρίσκεται η διάσημη παραλία του Αγίου Δημητρίου. Βρίσκεται στον Νέο Οικισμό του Πατητηρίου όπου είναι το κεντρικό λιμάνι του νησιού. Είναι μια μικρή μονοκατοικία με μεγάλη βεράντα μπροστά και ιδιωτικό κήπο πίσω. Ανακαινήσθηκε, διατηρώντας πολλά από τα παραδοσιακά της στοιχεία και αντικείμενα, έχοντας παράλληλα τις ανέσεις ενός σύγχρονου σπιτιού. Σε κοντινή απόσταση υπάρχουν όλων των ειδών τα καταστήματα, οι Δημόσιες Υπησεσίες και η στάση του λεωφορείου. Οι κοντινότερες παραλίες περίπου στα 600 μέτρα είναι το Ρουσούμ και το Πατητήρι.

The building was once part of the Byzantine Castle of Alonissos. In the early 19th century it was the island's first Post Office, and later the first ever café on Alonissos. All woodwork (furniture, floors etc) is handmade with solid oak tree wood and the décor is elegant and rustic.
