Casa do Engenho is amazing. So far, the best place my family and I have rented for a 10-day stay. Near Braga, easy to find, beautiful surroundings, quiet and comfortable. We definitely recommend staying. Monica is a great hostess, friendly and always there for you!

Awesome place with a beautiful view over the river. The location is really exclusive with a private entrance to the water...so you can actually spend the whole day there just going swimming, kayaking or relaxing in the garden. The perfect place for a family holiday! The house itself combines a traditional and modern style of living and can easily accommodate a big family. You will find everything there you need for your daily life. The check-in was easy and the communication with the host was always welcoming. Thank you for a great time!

Wer das freie und unabhängige Reisen an den unterschiedlichsten Orten und in verschiedensten Unterbringungen über airbnb liebt und Portugal ebenfalls, der muss unbedingt in der alten Wassermühle von Julio gewesen sein. Wir haben haben die Gegend zwischen Lissabon und Porto bereist und vier Nächte bei Julio verbracht und es sehr genossen. Die Freundlichkeit von Julio, die Ruhe und die Natur rund um die Mühle, Tagestouren in der Gegend oder nur das Verweilen in dem wunderschön angelegten und sehr gepflegten Garten haben uns begeistert.

The house is just gorgeous. Every little detail is very well thought, the ambience is very cozy, the location is just amazing. Waking up with this beautiful view is priceless, spending time at the terrace is so chilling. Basically, the house has everything to spend the best weekend.

Cette maison littéralement posée sur le lac de Gerês dispose d’un emplacement incroyable ! Avec sa petite plage permettant de partir en canoë ou en Paddle, elle offre la possibilité de s’adonner aux activités nautiques très facilement. La maison est remarquablement équipée, il ne manque rien et même plus encore. Le salon, la cuisine et les salles de bain sont les pièces les plus agréables de la maison. Sous les combles, il peut faire un peu chaud mais une bonne circulation de l’air le soir permet de bien dormir. Enfin, les hôtes sont accueillants ce qui ne gâche rien ! Nous reviendrons sans hésiter.

Espaço incrível, de acordo com a descrição. Todos adorámos a estadia. A Rosa é super acessível e simpática e muito prestável. A casa tem tudo o que é necessário. Só tivemos pena foi de não estar disponível mais tempo, pois não nos apetecia sair de lá. Voltaremos com certeza. Muito obrigada.

La casa es muy grande y las fotos que hay lo representan totalmente. Es un sitio perfecto para tener intimidad, para estar tranquilo y hacer alguna actividad. La piscina y el jacuzzi estaban muy bien. Por último, Manuel estuvo muy amable durante la presentación y atento para cualquier cosa que necesitáramos.

I loved staying here. The location is just beautiful. Beds are very comfortable. They have mechanical black outs just outside your windows, so the sun won’t wake you in the morning. We drove to the park and went hiking. Saw beautiful waterfalls and enjoyed the windy roads with breath taking views. Highly recommend. We loved the host… she was sweet and kind and even took us out to lunch.

Excelente qualidade/preço! Localização fantástica. Ao inicio a casa pareceu fria, especialmente porque existe apenas 1 ar condicionado na sala, mas após poucas horas conseguiu aquecer a casa toda, pelo que não foi desconfortável.

Where else can you stay above an actual river, where you can just step out and put in a kayak whenever you want? This unusual home, built over a centuries-old mill for monks, has tons of space and quirky touches and is the perfect place to relax and unwind in the countryside. The incessant sound of rushing water is a tranquil backdrop to this alluring getaway. The hosts were amazingly accommodating. She bought us a coffee maker we wanted and even mailed us some stuff we left at her place. And the house has everything you need for a very comfortable stay.

Maria and her husband were incredibly kind to me and my family / friends. We came from all over with young children and everyone had the most amazing time, food, hospitality, wine, good vibes all round. Maria kindly let us stay an extra night, and graciously bought us lots of wine and extras. I had a long lovely chat with Maria and we spoke about the world and life. I will always remember this place and the wisdom it has taught me. Thank you Maria for being a lovely human being ! All our love Sophie tommy and Quinn x

This home is ideal for a family, it has everything we needed for preparing meals at home and also a convenient pizzeria right below the house. The view is spectacular and really something special. We drove 20 minutes to the supermarket in Minho and mostly cooked at home, which was very convenient. The host is very accessible, but note that the main language is Portuguese. We arrived at sunset and at first we couldn't find the place but the host was very generous and was available to meet us and showed us exactly how to enter the house. The location is super for exploring the nature reserve and there is a water park right around the corner with many excellent facilities. We highly recommend it!
